Sad to say your right. But Israel will NEVER EVER LET ANYONE FORGET. It's their play all CARD, just start whineing about the Holocaust.....

You should do some research into the socialism in the 30's that Starlin introduced and the so called city passport system keeping a divide among the classes from people who fell into the lowest class.
Starlin sent them off for resource collection in some of the most isolated, barron unlivable places in greater Russia.
A Island you should research called Nazino.
Read about the Nazino affair, Starlin was worse than Hitler to the treatment of his own people.

All you need to do is look.

I think we both know that the intent of this thread was never to discuss the Russian holocaust.

But that doesn't mean we can't turn it around.

A poster said, quite well I might add, that the reason the Jewish Holocaust is remembered as it is because of the nature of that holocaust. Germany enacted racist policies against the Jews and went about removing them from their homes and jobs, attempted to migrate them elsewhere, and eventually put them into camps where they were worked to death or outright killed.

These other incidents were acts taken during war so, arguably, it's two different scenarios.

The problem I have with this, and I think some others might, is this:

I only learned of these other genocides and holocausts in my studies AFTER school. No where in my history courses from grade 4 or 5(whenever we started history class) right through to grade 12, no mention of these events was ever made. Not even a footnote somewhere in the back.

In fact, the section of my history course dealing specifically with WW1 and WW2 made no mention of any of this. WW2 was about the Jewish holocaust, and that alone. No mention of the millions of non jews who died in the camps.

I'm in no way trying to belittle the Jewish Holocaust, but I don't agree with distorting history to make it the "only" holocaust. If the plight of the Jews in Nazi Germany is something that will shape and define our civilization and education, I think some of these other events deserve some attention too.

If we ignore and fail to remember what really happened during those times, to jews and non jews alike, we are doomed to repeat it.

And low and behold, here we are, waging war on a race/religion we have deemed inferior to us, and some call for open extermination.

But that's ok, because we've been taught that they hate jews for no reason other than they are jews, so killing them is just the right thing to do, even their kids, because if we let their kids grow up, they'll be the next wave we are fighting.

I understand what your saying.I think its arguable who the worse tyrant/dictator was Hitler or Stalin.Some historians say that around 60 - 70 million people were killed in ww-2 and so very close to half of all deaths were russians.Hitler started ww-2 and so ultimately he was responsible for those death tolls.Stalin was ultimately responsible for killing about 5 million germans and around 20 million of his own people before and during ww-2,so i would say that the numbers tell us that hitler was the worse of the two by almost 3 to 1...

Hitler was the worst by a long shot.....and since WW2 we've had plenty of smaller versions running around in the Middle East and Africa.

The worst genocide ever committed since WW2 would have to be among the African nations - and everyone has turned a blind eye to whats going on over there - simply because they are black.

Yes. It was never about the Russian "holocaust", it was an attempt, yet again, to imply that the Jews are milking the Holocaust.

Words like "whining" are used when people, who may or may not be Jews dare to remind people that there was a Holocaust involving Jews. How dare I do that.

I'm a victim of the US public education system yet I learned of the victims of the Holocaust, which included everyone involved. The Romany. Jews. Mentally/Physically handicapped. Prisoners of War. "Enemies of the State". ...and a multitude of others.


"But the others are never talked about.." Bull. All it takes is a trip to the library. Or a quick glance around the internet, and you'll find a multitude of sources that talk about the horrific deeds perpetrated against non-Jews. This entire thread, with few exceptions has been nothing but a veiled, or not so veiled attack on a group of people whom history has treated horrifically.

To discuss the Jewish Holocaust, or other anti-Jewish pogroms through out history, in no way deminishes the very real suffering of other peoples who have had atrocities perpetrated upon them.

There are quite literally thousands of books about all aspects of the Soviet/German War. All you need to do is look.

I don't understand all this people saying they didn't learn squat about ww2 in their history class. My sophomore year in highschool we had 2 months dedicated to the topic. This was a public school(American) for the recorded, we learned about the Russians, the Jews, the Armenian Holocaust, the rape of nanjing, the Japaneses interment camps and had to read a book(a authors point of view of type of thing) on each subject because our history class and English class worked together.

The Jews aren't being put on some damn pedestal.

your so right and its also because theres no oil in central africa,if the usa was getting its main supply of oil from rawanda or sierra leone,we would have sent over a couple of hundred thousand troops and done something about rawandas recent genocide of 1 million people and sierra leones brutal civil war...

The cold war and its false flag demonization of the russian people from around 1946 - 1989 is partly why most people dont know about the 30,000,000 russians killed in ww-2...
