On the recent posts page there are two tabs, one says conspiracy discussion, the other says off-topic discussion. Now it wouldnt be much of a debate if people all believed the same thing, so debunkers are allowed, but shouldn't we limit comments to conspiracy related talk? In other words if all you have to say is "oh great not another conspiracy theory," shouldn't you be in the off topic section?

It's so easy to play devil's advocate on this subject. Because in a way, would that not be restricting members on just what they can say?

I agree it need's to be more than just a short reactionary statement like what you gave as an example; but if they include reasonable depth beyond that kind of statement, surely that should be acceptable.

There are already clear rules on responding to posts.

They must be w/in the ATS T&C which means no off topics, etc.

A response must be a response about the topic and the topic only.

15f.) Relevant Content: You will not Post messages that are clearly outside of the stated topic of any forums or disrupt a forum by deliberately posting repeated irrelevant messages or copies of identical messages (also known as "flooding").

They should not be one line non contributing posts such as the example you gave above.

If you see any of this, simply alert the post for staff to handle.

(This Appears On Every New Thread/Post Reply Page):
Please make sure every post matters.
Refrain from 1-line or very-minimal responses.
Edit-down your quoted posts to the important part.
Don't use "txting" shorthand in posts.
Use snippets and links for external content.
Provide meaningful comments for links, pictures, and videos.

ATS is NOT a conspiracy site! I get so sick of people saying that.

But why take my word for it?

ATS: ABOUT US

AboveTopSecret.com is the Internet's largest and most popular discussion board community dedicated to the intelligent exchange of ideas and debate on a wide range of "alternative topics" such as conspiracies, UFO's, paranormal, secret societies, political scandals, new world order, terrorism, and dozens of related topics with a diverse mix of users from all over the world.

Not all those things are "conspiracies."

Attempt to cope with this reality, please.
