This morning I went out to start my wifes car and heard a very strange loud noise. I thought that I had heard it during the night when it woke me up but was in such a stupor it didn't register. It was a very loud "wooshing" noise. My wife described it like those tubes that we had when we were kids, when you spun them they made a loud wooshing sound, except this was constant, no variation in noise. It lasted about 5-10 seconds with a 1 - 3 minutes of silence. Each time that we heard the sound it seemed to come from a different location. I know this wasn't a jet, or any kind of craft that I am familiar with.

I have paid little attention to all the reports that were coming in about strange noises over the last 6 months, but now I heard something, so I am wondering if anyone else out there has heard or experienced this recently?

Much Love!

Did it sound anything like this?

If it did, here's one of the ATS threads that goes with it--

Regardless of what you think you heard, I think I would familiarize myself with the activities in your area.

Here's some info regarding Malmstrom AFB...

341st SECURITY FORCES GROUP

"The 341st Missile Security Forces Squadron ensures robust strategic nuclear deterrence as the largest security forces unit in the 341st Security Forces Group. It maintains security forces on 24-hour alert throughout a 13,800-square mile missile complex. It supports the United States Strategic Command's war-fighting requirements by providing security for 15 missile alert facilities commanding 150 intercontinental ballistic missiles constantly ready to launch against targets directed by the President. "

741st MISSILE SECURITY FORCES SQUADRON

"The 741st Missile Security Forces Squadron organizes, trains, and equips combat ready personnel for mobile fire teams, maintenance security escort teams, camper alert teams and convoy response force members to provide 24-hour iron-clad security coverage. This diversified squadron secures 150 intercontinental ballistic missiles deployed throughout a 13,800-square mile missile complex. This unit provides the highest degree of force protection for ICBM's during on- and off-base convoy movements and during support of ICBM maintenance and supports national strategic deterrence policy directed by Unites States Strategic Command through Air Force Global Strike Command's ICBM combat arm. No, it was more of a wooshing sound, this sounds like small explosions.

I think what you are hearing is the wind I am in central MT and we have had non stop winds for a month now.

I all out of sorts right now with cancer in the family i cannot think straight, but anyway there is a condition that the Mtns over there bring the wind from the west hits the ftathead mtn ranges and creates an updraft over the entire valley so you dont get the wind but it is up there and the sound can be heard for a long ways away especially near the outlets of the MTn ranges...

there is a meteorologist in MT who posts here occasionally I don't remember his name but he could explain it all Very well. or im sure there is a WIki page or google search for these types of wind conditions.

keep an ear out though I live under the flight path to an airforce base and have been hearing late late night noises but with the wind and living on a hill we can hear a Train Idling in town 10miles away.

I am willing to bet the sounds are a result of the new gold rush in energy sources, called fracking for natural gas.
Montana is currently getting it's share of drilling. Are you in the NE part of the state?

I don't know Spec....it sounds different....too "choppy" It's very similar, but when I heard it, the sound was smoother....like a giant furnace or blowtorch....a roar.

That sounds very plausible, I do live right at the base of the mountains so you never know.

No, I'm a little ways away from all the oil business, but it is definitely taking off around here! half of the valley is gone working in the fields!

Blowtorch is a perfect explanation of what it sounded like. I have lived in the SAME location for the past 15 years, and have never heard this sound before.

Bingo...

The part about "familiar with."

Lots of technology that folks arent familiar with are flying up there.

I laugh when people assume its "aliens" and outer-space craft before accepting the FACT that it is most likely, if not ENTIRELY likely that is nothing other than MAN-made craft overhead. Technology that would surely BLOW YOUR MIND that has been around for DECADES!!

So what kind of craft do you know about that makes noise for 5-10 seconds and then is completely and totally silent for 1-3 minutes? It was crystal clear skies and there was NOTHING up there.

There has been leaks of MUCH better tech than that existing... DECADES ago.

Read, read, read...
