State Department comment comes amid remarks by leaders of Egyptian Islamist party, according to which the 1979 treaty does not bind Egypt's new regime.

Earlier this week, the Muslim Brotherhood, the overwhelming victor in the first round of elections for the Egyptian Parliament, announced that would not recognize Israel and intends to bring the Israeli-Egyptian peace treaty to a referendum.

the Muslim Brotherhood says: Let's VOTE on it !

"We will not recognize Israel under any circumstances; we are talking about an occupation entity and a criminal enemy," said Dr. Rashad Bayoumi, the deputy head of the Brotherhood.

However, speaking to the press on Thursday, U.S. State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland indicated that the Egyptian Islamist party provided assurances regarding the country's peace treaty with Israel.

Who didn't see this coming?

When the first protests started and everyone cheered, who didn't see this coming!

Short answer; America.

Thats a negative ghostrider. The U.S. Is going to effect regime change in Syria. After that it is on to Iran. That is the reality of the situation.

The problem is you're quite possibly correct. The larger problem is that Syria and Iran have a formal treaty and mutual defense alliance. Obama is laughing it off and ignoring it outright. It won't be funny when bombs fall on Damascus and Missiles launch from the Iranian desert.

US saw it coming but it was out of it's hands. Some people like to think that US is the PTB . All knowing govt , in control of the world. Dominant empire.

But it isn't anymore. And it hasn't been.

People all around the world can see what US govt is doing world wide. Egyptians know it better that Israel is a #1 priority in Mid East , but yet , they say "US is friend , but Israel is not".

You want to close your eyes on what US govt and US military is doing to the people , it is your choice.

They are not going to drop the treaty. They do have to put on a show for the public that they kept it because they wanted to and not because they have a deal with the US.

What does Israel do now ?

They ST#U and do what the international community tells them if they know what's good for them.

Every corner of the world is getting sick of their non sense.

It's the innocent Jews in Israel that I worry for, they are Zionist pawns just like they were in the Holocaust. History keeps repeating itself because we as humans allow it.

Egypt should drop any treaties with Israel until Israel recognizes Palestine!

Pray that there aren't four more years of Obama in the White House. This guy hugs terrorists like the Muslim Brotherhood all the while doing everything that he can to weaken the USA and screw with our allies. He's either the most inept moron ever to sit in the Oval Office ... or he's doing it on purpose. So Israel needs to be praying ... big time ... (and so do the rest of us).

At least the Muslim Brotherhood is being democratic about it. Put it to a vote.

1. If the Egyptians vote for it, it would have the support of the majority to better formulate its foreign policy. That's what a responsible gov is for.

If the vote is no, equally, it is a choice of the People. So long as it follows INTERNATIONAL RULE OF LAW, all will be fine. If we mankind cannot live in harmony, the least we can do is to live in peace.

The issue of Israel /Palestine will be then a issue that those 2 People will deal with, and no other state must interfere by destabilising efforts, or face the wrath of humanity if such destablisation are found.

And for the record, Israel best deal with their own extremists, and come to the negotiation table, as must the Palestinian Authority, or there will be no end. The days of wandering in the deserts of strife in that land must end, as a generation from both sides had passed. The old must never be allowed to rule agendas for they have not long to live, and the young must respect the sanctity of life and compassion for others, for we all share this world.

IMO , Egyptian people have revolt to put their own ideas into action.

So , if they find their governments who should follow and serve them are moving against their will , it will be time for another revolution.

Just my 2 cents.

A very similiar story is happening in Libya, these are hardliners.

Source

An advance copy of the report entitled "A View to Extremist Currents In Libya" and obtained by Fox News, states that extremist views are gaining ground in the north African country and suggests a key figure emerging in Libya formerly tied to al Qaeda has not changed his stripes.

Why would they? Since it began they have have peace. They have also have tons of US aid. Why would they vote for conflict and an even worse economy? They won't. They will tell you while they have no great love for Israel they also have no wish to go back to the days of constant wars and defeats.

I saw it coming and i'm an arkansan. Youre assuming that TPTB didn't want this to happen. The U.S. is what kept Mubarak from being hanged long ago and is what put him in power in the first place. The fact that both He, Saddam and Ghaddaffi have been ousted and soon to be Al-Assad...perhaps the Jesuits controlling the worlds governments have decided to put their anti-christ into power and begin the end game.

The PTB , is just a name for short people who like to look tall.

I think the old , super power wars will make more sense than this phrase.

Saddam , Mubarak , Qaddafi on US side.

Al asad on Russia side.
