(Mods, sorry if I placed this in the wrong forum, but it is a current event, so I felt that this was the best place.)

OK, then. I have to draw the line here. These twits aren't positive role models for girls and I hope that these don't sell, but they probably will. Plus, I believe this is more brainwashing and indoctrination for young girls by promoting an unhealthy body image that will affect their self esteem and how they perceive themselves. I guess there's no limit to the destruction of our youth and making sure that they always feel inferior to the women who get plastic surgery and airbrushed photos. Just plain sad.

blogs.ajc.com...

Kim Kardashian is about to be rendered in plastic. As a Barbie doll.

Us magazine reports that Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian are to be “immortalized as Barbie’s pals in an upcoming limited-edition doll line” and that “The dolls will reflect the girls’ measurements and may even comes in Kardashian-designed outfits.”

Kim’s hinted at the new project via Twitter. On Christmas Day she and the official Barbie Twitter account exchanged messages. (Barbie: ” Long time no see! What did Ken get you for Christmas? Miss you doll!” Kim: Merry Christmas Barbs.”)

No word yet if anyone’s considering creating a Kim Kardashian Wedding Barbie complete with three wedding dresses and a mini divorce decree.

Let's be completely honest here. These women only became famous from their sexual exploits, which led to their trashy voyeuristic reality show. These women value money and materialism. They are so fake and they have no problems flaunting their shallow views and being idolized by girls whose views on beauty will be warped beyond all help.

Barbie's have never been proportional and many girls grew up with the idea that your waistline has to be morbidly small and your feet always ready for stillettos.

Mattel needs to be boycotted at this point and these dolls should not be sold. Before you know it, the dolls will come with a video camera and the dolls will be able to flex themselves into crazy sex positions.

Thoughts?

Edit to Add: I do see that the dolls will be proportional to the Kardashian's forms, but the women aren't your average body frame and this is what I'm attempting to communicate.

Becoming immortalised as plastic & fake?

Yup, sounds about right.

I'm proud to say that I only vaguely even remember what one Kardashian looks like. Don't know which one it is.

Klohe and Kim I think represent more realistic body types....they are not skinny...they are curvy...as for their images becoming dolls...that may be a good thing...for young girls and women that are full-figured.

Well, at least girls will now know that having a big booty is what men want.
www.tmz.com...

Personally, I don't have a big butt and I never have. I guess I'm not marriage material.

It's just another example of the rich getting richer simply because they already have money. Capitalism

I agree with Daniel Craig:

"Look at the Kardashians, they're worth millions. I don't think they were that badly off to begin with but now look at them. You see that and you think "what, you mean all I have to do is behave like a f***ing idiot on television and then you'll pay me millions."

None of your business!
No, butt seriously. To answer your question, I've got boobs but no butt.
Being 4'7", I'm surprised I don't tip over, but I'll always like my little butt.

Well, thank you.

I will admit that there was a time in my teenage years where I felt as though I didn't measure up to the models and actresses and that I never would. I had Barbie dolls as a kid and I believe that this affected me. It was fun going out and buying new clothes for my dolls, but in the back of my mind, I was thinking that I would never look like THAT in said outfit. It's really sad that girls will compare themselves to a plastic doll, but it happens. Now, with the Kardashians being turned into Barbies, the cycle will begin again. Only this time, they can see what these women look like in real life and compare themselves to these women's bodies and be brainwashed into believing that this is what's attractive when in actual reality it's all make believe.

Girls should grow up knowing that being smart is sexy, but the media will never let this happen.

We live in an age when celebrities are created for public consumption, and they are not required to have talent or anything of value to offer. What can the Kardashian sisters do besides be vapid, shallow, and pseudo-pornographic? I don't understand what the fascination is, but some people like to feed their minds nothing but eye candy and empty, pointless trivia.

The Kardashians shouldn't be made into dolls for little girls, they should be made into plastic blow-up dolls to be sold in porno stores.

I agree. I think all the girls are good role models, actually. They are business women who are independent and beautiful and fun. They have a brand under which they sell perfume, clothes, styling and several TV shows.

They are a wonderful example of the American Dream. I don't know why people hate them, though... They're TV stars. Jealousy is the only motivation I can see for hating these girls.

I'm tempted to buy the dolls!

Their father, forgot his first name, the O.J. Simpson lawyer is a wonderful example of the American Dream. His daughters are a wonderful example of the Hollywood manufacturing machine. I watched their show a few times on Netflix...it was a horrible train wreck. The rudeness and complete disrespect to their mother, (who doesn't act like a mother, but instead one of their gal pals and what do you call that thing that pushes a ....PIMP!!! I really like the mother as far as her personality goes, she seems to have a sweet disposition, but she is way off base when it comes to parenting. I know, shows are edited and they play to the camera for controversy. But whatever, I watched two and a half episodes hoping and waiting for a moment of compassion, spirituality or kindness so I could not be so bewildered by their popularity. None came. And I felt icky after watching. I wish they would just all GO AWAY! They would win some respect from me if they went to a third world country and dug wells....WITHOUT bringing their camera crew or going public with it.

I agree with everything you said.

Maybe they'll make Domestic Abuse Barbie.

www.fathersandfamilies.org...

As all the world now knows, Kim Kardashian committed domestic violence against her soon to be ex-husband, Kris Humphries. The world knows that because she did it on television, specifically, a show called “Kim and Courtney Take New York.” Kardashian and New Jersey Nets power forward Humphries are splitting up and so, for whatever reason, she got angry and took a poke at him. Here’s a video of the “Dr. Drew” show in which the video of the incident is reprised (CNN, 11/29/11).

FULL figured and EMPTY headed...
Yes young girls and women..be like Kimmy and co...Marry someone for 72 days and get divorced, do a homemade porn video with some black guy and be able to talk with anyone on anything, like for instance, politics - [on Barack Obama]: "He just seemed very firm about the change, and that’s, like, his motto."

Plastic and fake fits their profile very well.
Remind me not to ever buy another Barbie for my Daughter.

Since the K trio are already plastic & pretty much fake, making them into actually dolls is not much of a leap...

Seriously though, these are near the bottom of the list when it comes to role models for young girls and I would cringe at the sight of a little girl playing with these things. I know they are wealthy because of various business ventures, but I also know that it has nothing to do with talent. It's because their wealthy parents had the seed money to creat the brand and keep them in the news.

I can however think of a group that makes me cringe even more....... That group of oompa loompas on Jersey Shore...
