I imagine many die because they are born into an environment either ecologically, socially or both which cannot sustain them.

The rest because well, they just do. The same as adults. Our bodies are fragile organisms, we die.

A four year old kid falls out of a tree and is killed and a child of the same age in africa dies due to malnutrition or murder. Both are terrible but also facts of life and neither will have me running to the post office with bubble wrap or cans of food.

If there is 1 thing douche bag republican & democrat politicians agree on: $400 of your tax dollars is better spent getting 1 gallon of gas to Afghanistan... then feeding kids.

Cant over populate the grand chess board with pawns.. wars, disease, financial drama and famine are built into the system dipcrap sheeple 'pretend vote' for year after year. Strangers on TV kept them "informed"... it's not like they were duped or played for suckers..lol

Party leaders export and CAUSE death, not prevent death.. duh... its easier to kill a million people than control them. Call them a name & write a memo before killing them, all good.

Our trustworthy virtuous govt of believable change can kill anyone they insist is a terrorist, insurgent, radical, linked to, member of... OR associated with the officially designated boogie-man. Or a reasonable facsimile thereof.

Because our entire system of governance is out of whack.

Some have so much money they couldn't spend it in a thousand lifetimes and some have nothing and most people on ATS when I make this statement say, hey that's okay, that's fine and dandy.............if someone earns billions and others can't find work or have the ship arse luck of being born into poverty so what.

Apathy, mismanagement of resources, greediness, people not sharing or allowing some to "have it all" when in reality - there is enough of everything to feed, clothe and house every single person if things were divided up more evenly............but that would be
called socialism

If humanity doesn't WTFU and fast, and get our act together as a species, I am afraid we are doomed.

We all allow the few to control the many.
We all have not united and rebelled against the 1%

Welcome to the capitalist whore house. Aid is nothing more than a bung for services rendered. Most politicians couldn't give a damn about people, it's all about maintaining the status quo. All this money and yet the quality of life never improves.

Yup, this is capitalism and democracy that should save us.

Democracy should be up there along with tirany because its almost the same thing under a different name and a blanket that makes people believe they have a saying in this when in reality they don't.

Its so sad that so many kids die for no reason at all that it makes me s. a few tears ...

If you had taken the time to read through the whole thread you would realise that we are talking about the opposite thing here. I wholeheartedly disagree with Aid and just sending money to make you feel better.

Just read the whole thread

My question to you is,how do people in such abject poverty and dire liveing condition still manage to have children to die by the thousands in these conditions? If you could answer this you might be able to stop it, but then again you would have to have found a way to change human nature.

It has always been this way, it will always be this way...........makes you wonder why we even exist.

Sorry for the realism, I know how negative it seems to some people.

Mate, I completely agree with you that we live in a flawed system and im sure most others do, but the problem now is finding a way to live that doesnt involve systems, merely going back to basics, not thinking up new systems and ways of living, with or without money.

How the hell is foraging living in poverty? just because it isnt luxury does not mean it is the wrong way to live.

actually - we do need intensive agriculture to support our current population hunter gather lifestyles only work for tiny populations with vast land areas

very dew countries could support thier current population on a hunter gatherer basis

The only reason we can support 7 billion people is because of: OIL! Oil powered machinery/irrigation /distribution and NATURAL GAS: FERTILIZERS! "Modern" agriculture. Hunter gathering could support a minor population< a billion? Worldwide.

Bleed for these unfortunates all you want; but They should not be having more children living in a DESERT!

Exactly, but thats the way we need to live our lives, in harmony with nature, and I believe nature will be sorting that out for us very soon if we dont.

Good point my friend. If we did find a way to change huiman nature it would help nothing other than messing up things more, if that is even possible.

No dont worry about it, realism is what we need in this time of crisis, not wishy washy solutions to the systems, we need to take some action, but where to start?

If you are going to post something serious like this, at least change your avatar. I didn't hear a word you said.

While this is certainly shocking, why isn't the real issue addressed, which is population control. Why is the birthrate so high? Although none of us wants to admit it, it just might be that the best course of action right now would be to have mandatory sterilizations as to avoid this situation. It is extremely difficult to combat runaway poverty and malnutrition when birth control is almost non-existent.
