A lot of doctors are using e-mail type systems to send refill info to pharmacies for patients. It's possible that they have more than one on record for you and the Nurse who called in or e-mailed in to the wrong one. I used to use one pharmacy and then switched to another. The old one is still on my file and they always ask which one I want to use.

Call the pharmacy in question and ask if someone walked in requesting,or was it over the phone, or e-mailed. Maybe that can shed some light on where to start looking for the error.

I have had some trouble as of late getting my meds on time from a once reliable pharmacy. I blame it on the fact that they just have waaaayy too many customers and never check their mail or voicemails.

actually ive been on this med for years, actually since 2006. no nurse sent anything prior, i contacted my pharmacy to call my doc to get the refill order.... my doc called me asking which place because they got requests from both...

Sounds odd to me.

I would get a different pharmacy and doctor.

My RX told me that THEY are NOT affiliated... and to call Walgreens and see if it was local first, and then ask why or who is trying to fill RX in my name or why this happened so i am calling them immediately.

getting a new specialist for a disease nobody else was even willing to test me for when they had NO involvement in it would not be an option, they are the ones who called me to see why it happened.

and my pharmacy did not do it either. just talked to them.

if it was their fault i would have been doing that right away

this is a walgreens error, or identity theft issue at this point.

If it was for a controlled medication, you should call BOTH pharmacies and tell them that NO ONE is allowed to pick up your meds except you. Someone may be trying to steal your RX. Then call your doctor in case the pharmacy calls him and he thinks you are trying to get more than you should. This happens a lot (I have a friend who is a pharmacist and he tells me stories about how drug addicts forge RX's and steal other people's meds all the time).....all someone has to do is be at your home and get the RX# and call it in and you are out of your medicine. He said now that if you use online refill services, if someone gets your sign in info, they can go online and order it. Guard this info so that other's can't access it, and I personally wouldn't use online pharmacy services. Call both pharmacies now and just tell them that you are worried about it and you don't want anyone else picking it up.....and tell them if someone DOES show up to pick it up to have them arrested. They WILL do this. Good luck, and I hope you don't have any trouble!

Yep. The pharmacy I posted about was Walgreens too.

I would not be surprised at all if it is an error. But I agree you should make sure it is not identity theft. That was the first thing that crossed my mine when it happened to me.

(Sidenote: Mine was for insulin. Walgreens must have it out for us autoimmune sufferers.)

They can get all your rx info including your name if you throw your old RX bottles or paperwork in the garbage without shredding it....ALWAYS shred your personal stuff. Not trying to make you paranoid, but there are people who go through trash to do these things. That is one of the main ways identity theifs get info.

Sometimes a pharmecy has to order it from another pharmecy who have it on the shelf if its a rare pill for your bowel problem?????
I suggest also if you die with out this bowel pill???,, refill in ample time b4 you run outta a pills...and if possible have a big amount of these "bowel" pills when you refill????

This should be a "no asked questions" on refills...

There are helplines also and help at your clinic on this,,,ATS is great,,,but I myself would not go to a auto shop asking what to do with a broken leg????

I flush quick and dont want to know what the bowel pills do and its not my business either....

I suggust hands on,,face to face with a DR/RN than keyboard for advice here when it comes to your own personal health...

Ask for a 90 day supply and refill at 70,,,,

The pharmacist will just say "It will be a few minutes, we're running behind today"...to stall the theif till the cops get there

hmm that OR they are a pharmacy who is being forged easily... because they are nation wide... I just contacted walgreens and they state they have not! sent any requests for medication for me for a year. and they dont even have that on file for me so they would not have sent it in the first place.

im now waiting on info from my doctor on what walgreens and more info on the request, i explained all to the receptionist and told them the info on whats going on. Now im calling walgreens back and telling them what you told me. that no one can pickup any perscripitions but me, and have them arrested if they try.

thank you.

thanks hun... My doc knows there would be no need for me to take more meds than needed, and this is a good idea. i will ask him if i can have a larger rx 1x for a backup supply if something like this happens in the future, or if i can do it all the time. They also have free samples a lot of the time so ill ask for a bunch of those throughout the month to keep some handy
appreciate it! Never had problems before lol never had to think about this at all!

It sounds like someone is trying to get your meds. Good for you for calling them and telling them no one else can pick it up. Now, if someone is trying to steal your meds, they will have a BIG surpise in store when they go to pick it up
I hope if that's the case, they catch them!

hahha its the blue pill, i take the blue pill! lolz

free samples of a medication, in promotion for that medication from reps trying to push that medication, so like if you dont wanna go get a 400 dollar rx and see it doesnt work yeah....

i suppose it sounded more like, here have a gift basket. LMAO

but no, a lot of times they have the sample trial meds, and they will sometimes give you a month or two worth in case you ever run out. i may ask a couple times a month if they have that available so i can create my backup supply hahah

Not sure if you are using insurance, but if this a maintenance drug you will be taking long term, most insurance companies offer mail order service for 90 day supplies while charging you much less (usually the same cost as a one month supply at a retail pharmacy).

Not only would this save you money, but would offer the security of having the medication mailed directly to you.
