Russia, UK, France, China, India, Pakistan, North Korea, and Israel all have nuclear weapons. The reason we don't want Iran to have any is because we know what they will be used for. Zionist Israel. Our government is protecting the nation that it has ties to.

I don't agree with the war, but the FACT is, it will happen one of two ways.

1. War with Iran having nukes and using them

2. War without Iran having nukes and using them

I'd rather take the 2nd option.

You are not quite correct on the weak angle sir.

The US is in a cycle in which their Empire is coming to an end, and they (people in power) are doing

all they can to hold on to, and continue the Empire.

The Imperialistic stance of the last decade will allow their Empire to continue for a while longer, but without

the economic growth of the Empire , it will assimalate into a Perfect Storm in a few short years.

Probably result in a war with the then current economic leader's of the globe.

I can guarantee you if the US Navy gets into a real shooting match with Iran, Iran will be in a major sh*t storm. I'm a former Navy vet of 10 years (from the 80's and 90's) and I'm here to tell you the conventional firepower on just one of our Arleigh Burke Class DDG's is enough to flatten a major city. Take a look at this link: www.naval-technology.com... I draw your attention to the weapons systems and counter measures. These Destroyers are armed with 56 BGM-109 Raytheon Tomahawk cruise missiles in the VLS system. Each of those missiles has a 1000 lb conventional warhead and can be launched from over 1500 miles away. The AEGIS countermeasures are something to behold as well. That system was capable of automatically tracking multiple (I wont say how many due to security reasons but its more than 100) threats then destroying them and that was when I was serving, there's no telling what its capable of now. That's one ship, now multiply that by a battle group consisting of 3 destroyers 2 frigates 2 SSN's (fast attack subs) and an aircraft carrier.

Please don't mistake my reaction to this thread as cockiness because it's not. Iran has NOTHING close to that kind of firepower on any of their vessels and their missile systems aren't really all that lol. They know it and we know that they know it. If push comes to shove and they try to shut down the straights we will shut them down.

I gave up trying to explain the might of the U.S. Navy in the last thread that said Iran would take it out. This is coming from people thats never even seen a USN ship in real life, much less been on multiple deployments. But yeah they would know a lot better then ACTUAL Navy vets....

And to all those thinking these Vets are prowar? We are not pro war but know what our firepowe is capable of doing. Hell, Ron Paul is against war but if left with no option, will go to war ,legally, to defend our country. Woe to those who would attack under a Paul presidency because the world would see an actual war and not some war-for-profit crap thats been going on the last decade.

I very much agree with you and anyone who thinks Iran has a chance in Hell of carrying out it's threats is delutional. The Fifth Fleet olone is capable of destroying the entire Iranian Navy, Airforce and all coastal military targets.

You're like the 30th person today who's made some claims that are based in the clouds and not on facts. The US is not the only country with nukes. The US is not the only world Super Power. The US is not the only country that tortures people. When I was deployed to Iraq any prisoner we detained was turned over to the Iraqi Army or Iraqi Police who then themselves proceeded to torture their own people. And lastly if the US is soooo weak.... why don't you pick a fight with them?

Another good thread on Iran and the situation in the Gulf. Several posters asking good questions about what happens if one side or the other gets spanked. The risk still remains that the US will respond with a declaration of war and proceed to systematically destroy Iran's war making infrastructure with a strategic and tactical first nuclear strike.

Once again though this is fraught with high risk. The risk being of starting a global nuclear war with death by the billions not just hundreds of millions. I hope for mankind's sake this doesn't happen but until the situation is resolved by the powers involved the risk will remain. My best,

That's silly, of course It's american made weapons. America ships Weapons off to 'EVERY' Country that requests it to retain order within their own border and they need extra profit. Nothing to be ashamed of, but if they plan on using those weapons to attack america then they lose their right to buy weaponry and then have to find someone else to butt-lick

Iran can definitely cause some losses to the US Navy. May even sink an aircraft carrier. But that doesn't mean they will win the battle. If the US attacks, it will be with specific objectives. If the objective is to destroy Iran, they probably won't even bother sending the Navy close. They will do so through missiles launched from far, or israel, where they are deploying missiles for an "exercise".

If they do send in the Navy it will probably mean they decided to occupy Iran like they did Iraq. In whcih case, they won't be going back unless their entire Navy is destroyed and no one, not even Iran, is counting on that happening.

The Military Industrial Complex always wins as long as the US exists, whatever the outcome of a particular war fought away from the US.

As you can see from the responses from many Americans here, they love murdering people in other countries. Their biggest complaint, if any, about wars is that some Americans die. As long as there is no draft, most do not mind dead Americans soldiers either as long as many times more non-Americans are dead. So no fears of popular disapproval either.

who needs justification? collateral damage is unavoidable, thinking you can win a war without involving those in the country is just naive. If people do not want to die during combat then get up and leave, and don't tell me where are they supposed to go? If you don't want to die you'll get up and leave and MAKE it work. Survival is a trait we are all born with, get outta dodge or stay and die. Nobody is going to shed a tear for said peoples inability to abandon their material possessions.

You have an excellant point. I wonder what would happen if Iran picked a fight with the US? I can see their Republican Guard units getting decimated and these are the same people who keep those "repressive religious thugs" in power. Could be interesting.
