Well guys i work in East Kilbride,

Im from north Lanarkshire though,

Anyway im glad someone posted this i have been working right through the night (part of the company i work for does production in Malaysia so i need to be available on there time)

i have been the only person in this particular entire business park all night due to new year holidays.. anyway...

yes this is def the worst weather i have seen in a long time, i have literally been sitting with my headphones on to drown the sounds of things breaking on the roof and the services hatches in this building crashing and banging all night...

proper heavy wind, just been told there is a tree down outside my house now as well

Stay safe everyone

I thought it was windy when I was walking the dogs at 6:30 this morning, (down in Hertfordshire) but you guys up there have it bad today. It took me ages to light me smoke

Sup fellow scots,

I'm in Kirkcaldy (the heart of the red blob on that map) and it is crazy here. Definitely gusting more forcefully than Huriccane Bawbag did.

Just drove back from a friends a few miles away and the car was al over the place. Pretty exciting stuff. Batten down the hatches brothers and sisters, it's gonna be a belter the day

So far I have seen a greenhouse destroyed, half a duvan bed casually cruise down the street along with a fir tree oh and some poor couple trying to dodge a sheet of roofing and it's not even 10 o'clock

Its horrendous here in Fife too. Worse than Decembers. We have had far more of these winds than we usually have and in such a short space of time.

anyone got any videos yet ?

Id laugh seeing someone's bed rolling down the street.

Now is a great time to do wheelie bin races !
maybe a new land yachting record can be set.

But seriously, I hope none gets hurt.
This storm has arrived during the morning commute to work and yet the Met office only issued a red warning about an hour before the storm hit.

The met office seem to only serve themselves.

Your London video is London Ontario... I'm sure it would be headline news if London England was hit with 30cm snow...

The aftermath of high winds in Paisley 03/01/2012...the first bit is me wondering where the shed is!

I think that is a burning bank at the very end.
Really shaky footage, hard to tell.

Got up this morning in Cheshire and was a little worried because our windows were shaking (never had that before). The really bad gusts have died down now but if its like that here, Scotland must be really taking a hammering!

Stay safe

I looked at the map you posted the link to.

I can't tell what mph the wind is. Can you say?

Sounds dreadful.

May God be with all y'all.

. . . and with ChristChurch NZ for that matter!

102 MPH WINDS IN SCOTLAND

Stay safe all,

We Have 95 mph gusts in Wales to,

Some concerns over the Severn Tidal Range with a strong wind and such high tides might be some bad flooding on the Severn.

Kind Regards,

Elf

We were sometimes advised in some typhoon conditions in Taipei to duct tape an X across our windows.

Might help.

I'd probably do a bit more than a mere X and do it outside and inside . . .

Maybe an X corner to corner and 3 strips vertically equally spaced.
