Hardcore Pawn; Is this show real

Sorry, thought this was a thread about chess.

It seems it is about porn not pawn.

Look, a show does not have to be "scripted" as I keep reading here. All you need is idiots that can earn a few bucks by--not being themselves--but by playing a role that they were told to act out or allowed to create their own scene.

These jokers get their few minutes on TV, some bucks and a free copy of the tape. Basically, you don't need to script idiots, they will provide their own show with little outside help. And they will brag about it the rest of their lives, explaining their roles as. "I was just acting a fool, you know, for the show."

I wouldn't have to get away with saying it on the streets of Detroit. I don't like needles and the amount of shots required to survive a trip to Detroit would put me off.

That's Detroit's new claim to fame? "We are poorer and have it harder than you".

Kind of says a lot about the people who live in Detroit. They know they have it harder than ANYWHERE else, yet they stay. They don't breed geniuses in Detroit, do they?

No one ever has anything good to pawn there, just gold chains and diamonds. Atleast on Pawn Stars you see some interesting, historical stuff.

I am not in denial. (But everyone whether you are in denial or not says that )

Anyways, I am not ignoring the fact that Detroit has an emergency financial manager coming soon or that the city's council is probably the main source of corruption or that ever since the riots the city's real estate has dumped. I am simply saying most people who have a negative opinion of Detroit don't know what they are talking about. The city has a lot of potential that gets thrown under a rug of insults.

As for the first youtube vid: classic Monica vs. Cockrel. -_-
The second video doesn't show the scale of the problem. Entire neighborhoods are like that. There are elderly people living alone in giant neighborhoods that are abandoned.
