Well lets see... you called OP gullible or a troll, then say you don't see anything... and my name is Zorgon with an 'o' not Zargon...

As to ridicule, I merely pointed out the irony and supplied you with a cropped view of the boomerang shaped lantern

If the shoe fits....

This sounds good however its new years eve for some people (2012 for me now
) so there will be chineese lanterns about & aeroplanes & lights so there is a strong chance its not a UFO sowwie

This thread is an amazing coincidence as I've just returned from a party on Hampstead Heath in the UK and I managed to get some pictures of the very craft mentioned

Here we see some strange creature gathered around one of the craft, what they are doing is strange and mysterious but as the craft seems so small on the outside then I assume there is some kind of TARDIS like tech involved where it's bigger on the inside

I also managed to get this one
.

Clearly some kind of advanced light based drive

Like yours, the camera and/or lantern moved while taking photo.

You just don't like that I disagree with you do you?

Poor deluded boy, thinking he is a resurrected pharaoh thinking common chinese lanterns are ufos. On a day thousands of lanterns are put in the air no less. Poor little fella.

In your u2u to me you said yourself that you hesitated posting your pic because it looked like a lantern.

Ok.

If you take a photograph at night the shutter of the camera has to stay open longer in order to let enough light into the ccd (the sensor), while the camera is taking the photograph your hands shake (even if you think your holding the camera dead still) and in the case of a Chinese lantern the object also moves.

What you end up with is a photograph that shows the same object in several places at once, imagine if you took several frames of a film and pasted them on top of eachother.

If you look at the exif data for the photo I took then you will see that the shutter speed is 1/2 a second.

For example Here is a picture of a firework taken at around the same time. The picture shows the explosion of the firework over time

on the other hand if I set the camera to a shorter exposure time i get this

I hope that kind of explains it
