Hollywood, that corrupt place, is further corrupting our teens.

This obsession with zombies is sick and black. There is no light there.

Get rid of the zombie mania because it is putting your kids in a dark place - and make no mistake about that.

I think it's the parents job to teach them that movies are not real and are only entertainment.

I'm 21 been playing shooters since 01, we take what we do seriously, hence why gamers are so good at games. focus is incredible when playing war games like battlefield 3. Its all simulated in the mind, the same parts of the brain go off when watching porn and actually having sex.

Why wouldn't the same thing happen, in a interact-able war environment like battlefield.

I'm addicted to them. First person shooters that is. Working with a couple buddies, systematically owning a zone is gratifying and exciting, that's why we play them, team work in killing efficiently.

Zombies is just an off shoot of that, nothing as fun as hunting another person in game that you know will try to out smart you and get you first.

i always hear of soldiers saying can not explain to you why they enjoyed it but that that feeling of fighting is unique. I can say that when my friends and I lay online, thats why you play, -------expletives deleted----. its fun.

Some teens have great parents.

Most do not. And those at risk teens are being brainwashed with negatives.

Not good.

I love Zombies and I'm not a kid.

I have liked zombies since Romero's old films and have always thought it was an interesting idea.

It's like their brain has been devolved to primal instincts, and those include eating brains.

What Hollywood needs to get rid of is the endless Vampires...

I really liked the remade 'Dawn of the Dead' and thought the idea of them running and being quick rather than the old, arms out, slowly walking and moaning 'BRAINSSSS'.

They are fictitious, who cares if people like them or not. People loved the Matrix and loads of people quote it all the time. It happens with all movies.

If you do not want your kids involved in the 'zombie crowd' teach them otherwise, but until kids start eating each other than there are no worries.

I remember when I was a kid and Super Mario was the big thing, there was a news story of a kid jumping on another head because he learned it in Super Mario and there was controversy surrounding the event. The problem wasn't the video game, it was because the kid had screws loose in his head, and that's a hard thing to fix.

Thanks, MC,

But many teens are already damaged, and they need positive images.

You are lucky.

Dude, really???

Zombie flicks are awesome, it's just entertainment. The Walking Dead is like the best show on television.

How is zombie entertainment "evil and black"???

And how can you empirically say that most kids have bad parents??? Are you even a parent???

EDIT: I'm sorry, I misquoted you on accident, "SICK and black". My sincere apologies.

...care to back you assertions up with...well...

Evidence would be good...

Definition of what constitutes 'a dark place' would be good...

Stats of how many young people are accessing social services and/or mental health services due to some definable/quantifiable influence of Zombie movies would be good...

Close minded individuals scare me more than zombies, also I think threads with 25 letters in the OP take ATS to a dark place.

Dude, seriously... Just stop. Harmless fun is exactly that, harmless. Be it movies, video games or dress up. I've been a zombie fan since a little kid in the 80's. And I'm a pretty normal family man. And at least I know what to do should zombies invade.

I am assuming you haven't seen the news? Cause there is a ton of positive stuff on those channels(/sarcasm). Negative stuff is everywhere not just in zombie movies. Do you also think that violent video games cause school shootings too?

The best thing that ever happened to me was "Night of the Living Dead" when I was a kid. That was a long long time ago. I wonder what you worry has happened to me?

for egads sake! 10 years ago the education curriculum stated for a FACT god existed etc NOW the curriculum states god does not exist..

I don't think it exactly says that. Just the fact of scientists learning more and more about our world and universe makes the God theory smaller and smaller.

I don't think there is brainwashing going on with zombie movies. It's more of a trend with people. I happen to enjoy them. Just a side note, if you think you are getting brain washed then you aren't exactly using you brain

Big zombie fan her, and yeah, when my kids are a bit older, I'll let them watch zombie flicks. It's a fun outlet, and leads to no harm, compared to many other activities teens could get involved with. Why don't you focus on some of the real issues teens face.
I also remember another thread you posted not to long ago saying get your teens out of vampires and into sports.
Whats your issue with these things? Sure I am not a huge fan of the the whole twilight thing, and see many things wrong with it, but that's like focusing on a little tiny speck of dirt and freaking out about the mess when their is a huge mound of putrid garbage a just few feet a way.

Edit to say: How is this even a medical issue? You could do a thread about zombies that would fall under medical issues, but I don't believe this one does. However I am not a mod, and this is just my opinion.

No way, I love zombie movies and absolutely love the hit zombie show "The Walking Dead". Why don't you parents, who are against these zombies, control what your kids watch on tv and also pay attention to what video games they play.

It's that easy.

Bring on the zombies!

Ya know what I hate? People who think they know what is best for everybody else. Just because your mind cant handle it does not mean it is wrong.

I bet you are a liberal progressive, they seem to know what is best for everybody accept themselves. Maybe you should just try making your personal world a better place instead of trying to control every one else.

I think zombies are the least of the worries of the garbage being put out from Hollywood. The overall content of violence, sexual implications alone is enough to monitor your child's TV viewing. No one is forcing you to watch, it, turn it off or turn the channel.
