When does a dental tattoo not become just that ?
According to a friends dentist , it is a dental tattoo on the xray of the white spot in the jaw bone . There is no tooth to be seen except for the one
with the filling to the left of the white spot . His dentist was more than willing to even give him the xray of the area since the spot had shown up
on an MRI for a neck injury .
Now correct me if I am wrong please . A dental tattoo is supposed to be on a tooth and not in the jaw bone . So my question is . Is it merely a piece
of filling left behind when the tooth was extracted or something else ?
It also does not seem at all possible for a piece of filling to be in the the jaw bone or even have filling material that far below the gum line . It
is obviously still bothering him and he asked me to put it out here for any possible clues to what it may be .
