I suppose the system is good for police work, but why not a few well placed balloons or drones to hold the sensors above the operational area?That way
you could compute the nessessary triangulations....
They could be tethered and each have a gps .a city could be covered this way.......
Here in Boston we have been using this for a few years because of all the juvenile gang shootings...you can see some of these located throughout the
city of Boston in particular Blue Hill Avenue in Dorchester/Mattapan...I can't say on their effectiveness that pin points the shot however it gets
the police in the ball park...I think it's a great idea and the newer kids growing up in the gangs appear to be unaware that this was implemented
back in 2006/2007
mythbusters proved/demonstrated that firing bullets up into the air is very unlikely to end fatally, as the bullets are so small and have a low top
speed/rate of acceleration when they're only falling/moving with the force of gravity...
But that obviously won't stop our great protectors...
