US Sells $30bn In F-15 Jets To Saudi Arabia

The United States has confirmed the sale of nearly $30bn (£19.5bn) of fighter jets to Saudi Arabia.

The US will send 84 Boeing F-15 jets to its key Middle Eastern ally, and upgrade 70 existing Saudi F-15s.

The agreement is part of a $60bn arms deal covering 10-15 years, approved by the US Congress last year.

The military hardware deal comes at a time when Washington is working to counter the influence of the Saudis' bitter regional rival, Iran.

The sale was formally announced on Thursday from Hawaii, where President Barack Obama is on holiday.

What do you think this portends? Saudi involvement with the U.S. in it's bid to over-run Iran? And what will the Saudi's get out of this besides 30 billion dollars in fighter jets?

At the risk of sounding like a broken record... this really needs to be understood by everyone reading...
  • Saddam Hussein depegs his oil from the dollar. Saddam Hussein is accused of hoarding WMDs, captured by the US Military and turned over to a kangaroo court to be hung.
  • Egypt threatens to depeg from the dollar. Riots break out and overthrow the government.
  • Libya depegs from the dollar. Ghadaffi is killed by rebels.
  • Iran depegs from the dollar.
    • War against Iran is threatened over their nuclear arms program.
    • The American people outright reject the idea of war.
    • Israel, a close ally of the US, begins to make threatening comments toward Iran.
    • America withdraws troops from Iran
    • Military advisers are sent to central Africa at the same time.
    • That region of Africa has enough oil to replace Iranian oil production.
    • Riots break out in Syria, a close ally of Iran
    • America is caught flying surveillance drones into Iranian air space.
    • Iran threatens to close the Strait of Hormuz, threatening oil supplies
    • The US states such a disruption "will not be tolerated"
  • Saudi Arabia does not depeg from the dollar. We sell fighter planes to Saudi Arabia.
Remember when reading the above that the US government has been printing money (through the Fed) for quite some time now. With the US dollar as the International reserve Currency, the only currency accepted for oil by OPEC and their allies, this overprinting is spread across a global population of 6 billion people. Should that situation change and the dollar no longer be the IRC, it will overnight be spread among only 300 million people. That's 20 times the inflationary response. That's an economic collapse that would devastate the country, our standard of living, and our very way of life. That is the USA becoming a third-world country.

The bankers and investors, the power brokers if you will, know this. They have no intention of letting it happen.

The purpose of this latest action appears clear to me. We will be at war shortly. May God forgive us.

I do like your post. One part made me laugh though. It will effect our way of life? Does this mean we will be 20x under the poverty level? Lol i believe we can only get so poor. Maybe the government knows is is going to happen already. And they know their lives will be at stake when people have nothing left. Hence why they spent all that money on police riot gear. Some 30 million i think?

This has everything to do with our great middle east trio - Iran, Saudi Arabia and Israel.
And it has everything to do with the oil infrastructure in the middle east.... specifically our access to it.
They all do not like each other... and the U.S. doesn't like Iran.
So we are selling Saudi Arabia (and Israel) our weapons in the largest overseas weapons deal EVER in history.
But Israel is worried about Saudi Arabia and Iran....
Saudi Arabia is worried about Iran.
Iran is worried about the U.S.
and the U.S. is worried about oil.
Tensions are high and everyone has a bone to pick.

Yes, we can only get so poor. Imagine for a moment that you decide to go to town for groceries. As you stop to get gas, you realize the sign no longer says $3.199 per gallon, but $31.99 per gallon. Now you make it to the grocery store. Bread is $19.99 a loaf for the store brand. A pound of ground beef is $49.95. A gallon of milk is $27.49 and a dozen eggs is $15.39. You gather up the barest essentials and have a bill that is over $1000.

And you are still making the same money you were before. Your savings will be gone in a matter of months, weeks or even days for some people, and then there is no more food. Soup kitchens will be gone, because they can't afford food either.

We in the US have no concept of poverty. We have not gone hungry for lack of food, thirsty for lack of drinkable water, or been deathly sick with no way to get outside help... yet. Go to Ethiopia, Haiti, or a myriad of those nations you never hear about and live as they do for one week... no, for one day. Then and only then will you understand how bad it can get.

Me? I know I don't understand it. I don't want to.

Well once i returned from the military. I have had no luck finding a job. So ive been on food stamps. And i dont drive a car because of gas prices now. This is what poor is. It was a joke anyways. But i forget people on here just like to argue anything with anybody about anything even if they arent being attacked

Not trying to argue with you; just giving my perspective. I was unemployed for two years and am now severely underemployed (think 10K/yr), trying to finish a college degree and raising a family of four (three since my daughter moved out). Yeah, I know food stamps well, as do far too many people today. But the fact is that I have food stamps... I can get food for our table. I have enough money at the end of the month to pay our power bill, and enough to keep the house above freezing in the winter.

But I am not poor. Not really. The US says I am, but compared to other countries, I am wealthy. I eat every day. I can drive my car to those part-time jobs. I have clean clothes and running water, and a dry place to be when it rains. I am typing on a laptop computer connected to the Internet, watching TV, with a cold soft drink and a bag of tobacco for cigarettes beside me. Compared to many around the world, I am filthy rich.

It is only when I compare myself to others in developed nations that I seem poor.

Should the collapse in our economy that I am expecting to happen actually happen, all that could change. I understand that, and I really really want to avoid it. One cannot avoid something they cannot see coming, much as one cannot avoid a hidden enemy. My response to you above was not so much to argue, but to clarify a situation I fear you do not fully see.

And thank you your service. Too few say that. May your new year be filled with prosperity beyond your dreams, as your sacrifice for me deserves such.

I take issue with selling military hardware to a nation that has supported state-sanctioned terrorism. Let's not forget that 15 out of 19 9/11 terrorists were Saudis.
