Right in the middle of threats to cut off exports, Iran will now export petro products to ....

Afghanistan of all places.

Oil, gas, gasoline, jet fuel are among the exports.

The source article has all kinds of facts and figures and is confusing.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Wednesday that Iran would become a gasoline exporter by 2013, despite the west’s imposed sanctions on the Islamic Republic. The United States, Britain and Canada announced new measures against Iran’s energy and financial sectors in November and the European Union is considering a ban — already imposed by the United States — on imports of Iranian oil. The interesting point to note is that the US has not been a major importer of the Iranian oil for decades.

Iran to export oil to Afghanistan

With American and NATO troops in Afghanistan, what is missing here ?

What amazes me is that Afghanistan signed an oil deal with China and now Iran is going to export oil to Afghanistan. Something seems pretty fishy here, I would not be surprised if tensions shoot up to the point where everyone goes crazy and begins WW3. Lets hope it does not ever reach to that level.

buying from iran to sell to china eh?

interesting.

surely china can buy direct cheaper, or at the same price from iran, so what the hell makes any sense here?

I remember hearing Iran has troubles making enough gasoline for its own people and now they will be selling gasoline to Afghanistan.

I think you will find it is crude oil they will be pumping to China, not gasoline as such.

Yes well Iran and Pakistan tried that already, they planned a pipeline from Iran through Afghanistan into India, Afghanistan was promptly invaded, Pakistan was assaulted with drone strikes and Iran now faces potential annihilation. Have a look at who controls what oil fields north of Afghanistan, if you think its the U.S then you would be right.

This is all total coincidence of course, terrorism is the reason we are in these countries, terrorism, thats it.
