With China ????

Where were the American Companies ????

What if China stations troops to guard their interests ????

What IF a "mishap" should occur ????

You know, like the one with some U.S. and Pakistani troops.

China and Afghanistan do share a common border, small but true.

Maybe the international oil companies will get a share.

Who is behind this alarming trend ?

December 28, 2011 - Associated Press
KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) - Afghanistan's government signed a deal Wednesday with China's state-owned National Petroleum Corporation, allowing it to become the first foreign company to exploit the country's oil and natural gas reserves.

The contract, which covers the northeastern provinces of Sari Pul and Faryab, is the first of several such blocks to be put on the market in coming months, Afghan Minister of Mines Wahidullah Shahrani said during the signing ceremony.

Bidding information for blocks in neighboring Balkh province will be released at end of February, and for the western Herat province by next summer, he said.

The ministry listed the initial value of the project with CNPC as $700 million. But the total could be ten times greater if more reserves are found and developed, and if international oil prices remain at today's levels, Shahrani said.

Hmmm..

So far, companies from China -- with which Afghanistan shares a small stretch of border in its east -- have been in the forefront of investments in the nation.

Three years ago the China Metallurgical Construction Co. signed a contract to develop the Aynak copper mine in Logar province. Beijing's $3.5 billion stake in the mine is the largest foreign investment in Afghanistan so far.

It's called paying off china and paying them off sometimes means letting them get the spoils first and we come in after...makes sense to me seeing that we owe them so much money....keep in mind this is one of good knows how many contracts are going to be signed with Afghanistan.

We still have troops in Afgan we probably own all the oil companies in that country by now. We own that country for god sakes. Also for China being rich in resources that's not true either. They do not even have enough food let alone water for all their population.

www.youtube.com...

Jesse Ventura shows people how china is taking United States water and taking it back to their country and stockpiling it. If you look how corrupt this country (the USA) is just think of the countries we have invaded and took over.

Yes definitely looks like a power shift.

This looks a LITTLE DATED, but was interesting none the less, give you a little more incite into The Chinese Afghan US connection, and NATO.

Sorry if this has been posted else where, just seemed relevant.

China Securities US

A September 2006 editorial in the semi-official People’s Daily decried what it described as US plans to transform the alliance into a “Global NATO” by endowing it with a large rapid response force capable of worldwide operations. In an indirect expression of Chinese government concerns, the paper said that the alliance’s “interference in the affairs of major ‘hot spot’ regions”, such as Afghanistan and Iraq, had already “drawn extensive concern of people worldwide.”

I think China has managed to pull in a few favors and maybe a crumbling EU and US currency may be playing a part (IMO), weakening the position of EU and US on the Afghanistan Front. A lot of work, money and lives LOST by the US just to have China come in a reap the spoils of war.

I wouldn't be surprised if HuJintao ends up turning into the next leader of Afghanistan lol.
