In my travels and experiences I have come to believe in all sorts of things that, if present me went back and had a chat with 2007 me, 2007 me would be shocked, depressed, and quite scared to be honest and maybe looking for a nice police officer to help. If present me could get a chance to have a chat with 2007 me, this might be one thing I'd talk about:

I believe in souls and reincarnation. This conclusion I have drawn is further validated in the music that resonates with me. I have searched this site and others for a good, deep discussion of the things I want to hear but have not seen anything sufficient for my needs. I guess in the times we live in, anything and everything has the potential to be groundbreaking or novel to say the least.

There are three bands that have specifically led to and fostered my Awakening: Muse, Within Temptation, and Tool. These bands, in my opinion, fall into the category of "inspired music". I believe Matt Bellamy, Bono, Sharon Den Adel, and James Maynard Keenan are old souls, prophets of ancient times sent here to guide us during Our Solemn Hour (a Within Temptation song). Matt Bellamy sings in "The Small Print," (Absolution) "I'm the priest God never paid."

That is a common characteristic of these three bands: they sings from an outside or somewhat elevated position relative to the rest of humanity. They sing, possibly, as our representatives. **I'm about to take a more literal interpretation of these songs even though I am well aware of the metaphorical properties of music.**

In Muse's song "The Small Print," Matt Bellamy seems to embody a powerful influencing force in the music industry that has specific rules to the soul contract or one who is outside of the influence of the music industry. Lines such as:

"Take, take all you need, And I'll compensate your greed, With broken hearts.
Sell, I'll sell your memories, For 15 pounds per year, But just the good days."
And
"You're to blame, For all the life that you'll lose, And you watch this space, And i'm going all the way. And be my slave to the grave, I'm the priest God never paid."

My interpretation of this song is Bellamy and Muse have been tasked with spreading the truth by a higher power. They make a mockery of the music industrial complex while having signed with Warner Bros. in 2005. We all remember this one:
ATS Thread

Also, Muse is very aware of Occult and Masonic symbolism and have no problem blatantly exposing it in photo shoots and album covers. Here is an article that questions which side Muse is on: The Duality of Muse
I have debated this question for some time but have ultimately come to the conclusion that they and their message are benevolent toward humanity. Lines from their latest album lend credence to this more optimistic theory.

Uprising:
"Paranoia is in bloom,
The PR transmissions will resume
They'll try to, push drugs that keep us all dumbed down
And hope that, we will never see the truth around."

"Interchanging mind control
Come let the, revolution takes its toll
If you could, flick the switch and open your third eye (my favorite line)
You'd see that
We should never be afraid to die."

Unnatural Selection:
"I am hungry for an unrest
Lets push this beyond a peaceful protest
I wanna speak in a language that you will understand
Counter balance this commotion
We're not droplets in the ocean
They'll laugh as they watch us crawl
The lucky don't share at all
No hope for fate, its a random chance selection
I want the truth!"

Though this band may display the symbolism of another "Illuminati" band, I think they have opened far too many eyes for them to be here on a negative karmic incarnation.

Within Temptation is another band that makes no qualms about who they serve. It is Mother Earth. Sharon Den Adel, lead singer of the Dutch band sings for our planet whose voice we cannot hear. A line from the song Mother Earth tells humanity of it's place on this living planet:

"She rules until the end of time,
She gives and she takes.
She rules until the end of time,
She goes her own way."
And
"With every breath,
And all the choices that we make,
We are only passing through on her way."
And
"You don't have to fear
A new beginning always starts at the end."

She also sings for humanity, letting us know that difficult times are upon us and we must display the good side of humanity or face extinction.

The Howling:
"When we start killing,
It's all coming down right now.
From the nightmare we've created,
I want to be awakened somehow."
And,
"When we start killing it all will be falling down.
From the Hell that we're in,
All we are is fading away.
When we start killing..."

Final Destination:
"It's waiting, always trying;
I feel the hands of fate, they're suffocating.
Tell me what's the reason;
Is it all inside my head?
Can't take it no more!"

And from the immensely epic Our Solemn Hour:
"Sanctus Espiritus redeem us from our solemn hour
Sanctus Espiritus insanity is all around us"
And,
"In my darkest hours I could not foresee,
That the tide could turn so fast to this degree.
Can't believe my eyes,
How can you be so blind?
Is the heart of stone, no empathy inside?
Time keeps on slipping away and we haven't learned;
So in the end now what have we gained?"
And,
"Are they themselves to blame, the misery, the pain?
Didn't we let go, allowed it, let it grow?
If we can't restrain the beast which dwells inside,
it will find it's way somehow, somewhere in time.
Will we remember all of the suffering?
Cause if we fail it will be in vain."

We would be wise to listen and heed the words of Within Temptation lest we let this whole society fall.

Tool is another band enlightened through means that will not be discussed on this thread. They fill a unique niche singing about sacred math in the Fibonacci sequence in Lateralus:
1 (Black)
1 (then)
2 (white are)
3 (all I see)
5 (in my infancy)
8 (red and yellow then came to be)
5 (reaching out to me)
3 (lets me see)
From peteofthestreet.net

The end of the world coming about via Ænima:
"Some say a comet will fall from the sky.
Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves.
Followed by faultlines that cannot sit still.
Followed by millions of dumbfounded dipspits."
And
"Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will cuz
I sure could use a vacation from this"

And I think Third Eye is about meeting a familiar Alien counterpart:
"Dreaming of that face again.
It's bright and blue and shimmering.
Grinning wide
And comforting me with it's three warm and wild eyes."
And,
"So good to see you once again
I thought that you were hiding from me.
And you thought that I had run away.
Chasing a trail of smoke and reason."

Third Eye has a very alien feel to me at the 10 minute mark and even more so at 11 minutes. See what you think.
Third Eye.

As a tumultuous 2011 comes to a close, we look forward to a 2012 that we will wish came with seat belts. Maybe it's time to start listening to the wise ones that were sent to us.

Please discuss, I'll be hovering...

What is up with the 27 club (see the dead member of The Red Hot Chili Peppers or Cobain, or Winehouse)

I think you are correct.

Regardless of Bellamy's intention, he is a fabulous musician. A natural prodigy on the piano at a very young age (probably due to the fact that his father was a famous musician), an amazing guitarist, and great vocals. However, I would say that, while pretty dark-themed, their music would be much more on the side of exposing lies, conformed thinking, and modern-day socialism. I have their whole discography and I will list a few songs that I think you can take enough from just by the name:

Citizen Erased
Con-Science
Execution Commentary
Exo-Politics
Futurism
Hate This & I'll Love You
Hysteria
Knights of Cydonia
Megalomania
MK-Ultra
Ruled By Secrecy
Soldier's Poem
Stockholm Syndrome
Thoughts Of A Dying Atheist
Time Is Running Out
United States Of Eurasia

I mean, I can see everyone of those names being the name of a thread here on ATS haha. They even have a live album named "HAARP". Definitely sounds like a group of conspiracists to me.

In fact, this is straight from Wikipedia.com:

For their performances at Wembley, Muse had the stadium decked out with massive props so as to dress it as the HAARP, a US government-funded weather research station in Gakona, Alaska which supposedly uses high frequency radio waves to cause changes in the atmosphere. Muse frontman Matt Bellamy is well known as a "conspiracy theorist",[10][11] and stated in a 2006 interview "Some people think it's designed to tap into the ionosphere to control the weather. Others think it's there to diffuse UFO beams, or to send out microwaves to control our thoughts.".[12] In 2008 he explained to Virgin Radio "All these sort of antennas, cables, screens and stuff are based on the same sort of layout as the HAARP layout.

This is also from Wikipedia.com:

Many of his songs display revolutionary views as well as a dislike of political corruption. "Assassin" and "Uprising" are two notable songs with obvious revolutionary sentiments. In an interview with Q Magazine, Bellamy stated that he is a libertarian.[13] In 2006 Bellamy said that he believed the 9/11 attacks were an "inside job".[14] However, in 2009 he told Rolling Stone that he did not believe this: "There is loads of stuff on the Internet suggesting 9/11 was an inside job. But that is not my belief.”[15]
On 17 September 2009 Bellamy discussed being politically influenced by reading "Confessions of an Economic Hitman" by John Perkins. He explains the book helped inspire the song "Uprising" and expressed his views that he feels lobbyists have undue influence on politicians as well as the political system. He states that "when people become powerful they often have a disregard for public opinion.

His messages are definitely very symbolic and they are in my top 3 bands for sure. I love them.

However, I am not sure if he would exactly be a modern Prophet. He definitely could change someone's limited thinking if they listened to his words but I don't know just about how much he is right or wrong about. I would just have to classify him as a conspiracist. He stated in 2006 that he thought 9/11 was an inside job and then later in 2009 he explained that he didn't think that. So, perhaps he is still under the influence of other's as well.

All-in-all, Matthew Bellamy and his band Muse are fantastic sounding, in my opinion, and extremely skillful. Also, his messages are very powerful and hit hard with me.

The H.A.A.R.P. album is what led me to this site. I am one that never passes up learning an acronym, it's like a nerdy collection I have. In 2007-8 not many people were talking conspiracies publicly, this site and Hulu were the only things that had anything on HAARP.

I like Lupe's machine gun conspiracy style. The only way to know what he's really saying is to look up the lyrics. And then you're already halfway there to looking up interesting lyrics on ATS!

Also, I know about the 27 club. It's definitely for the ones who sold their souls for good or for ill.

I think we have a lot in common here, and I'm very excited to discuss a lot of these things with you. As far as modern prophets go I would like to name a few who are in my opinion prophets. John Lennon, Johnny cash, Wayne Coyne of the flaming lips, Radiohead somewhat as I KNOW they are on to this stuff big time, many more that escape me right now.

I know it's hard to talk about a lot of the stuff we have come to understand (I believe that we are on a similar path) although these are barriers that need breaking. Have you checked out Spirit Science on youtube? That is a great one

My brother did a bit of research and apparently Matt Bellamy has this study/muse-ic (haha) room. In this room you find ancient relics, possibly including an ancient crystal skull. I believe that he 'taps into the source' with this and uses it to write music, not only is he a great muse-o (haha) he is also very aware of higher energies and uses them to make very effecting muse-ic. Any thoughts?

Well, that is pretty interesting. Honestly, I have not looked this deeply into the matter. I just assumed he was another musician with a bit of a spiritual gift and was very talented. Call me close-minded. I would love to find more about this supposed "study", however.

Do you know any references to this or is it just word-of-mouth?

My brother just mentioned it to me the other day, I believe he said it in an interview, and quickly realized that he shouldn't have done that, I'll ask my bro and get back to you.

Wow. I'm very glad to see this thread come back to life.

Sir_slide, I am aware and a fan of our past 'inspired' music icons; there are really too many to count. At this point in our spiraling journey I am very interested in these new groups and what they have planned for 2012. I know Muse is back in the studio working on a new album:

"Ok, will start on christian gangsta rap jazz odyssey, some ambient rebellious dubstep and face melting metal flamenco cowboy psychedelia."

twitter.com/mattbellamy

I have felt for a time now (maybe a year) that we will have some sorts of guides with wise souls to lead us through these chaotic times. What their full mission is, other than providing us with the musical motivation, I don't know yet. I don't know if the artists do either. But I'd like to find out. I want to put some of these puzzles together.

P.S. I have been finding many people who share our similar path lately.
