Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani has extended congratulations to all the Christians around the globe and especially to Pope Benedict XVI ahead of Christmas and the New Year. In separate congratulatory messages to Christian parliament speakers issued on Saturday, Larijani said, “I would like to congratulate you and your people on the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ (PBUH).” He expressed hope that all the people of the world would live in peace, freedom, and security in line with divine teachings. Larijani also said he wished that the countries of all his counterparts would experience happiness and prosperity.

I'm not a huge Iran fan but I think this paints a far different picture than we get with the media. Of course that could just be propaganda on Iran's part.

And in other news. . . .
The ACLU wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas
Baptists wanted to wish everyone a happy Halloween
and
Progressives wanted to wish a happy Veterans Day

If the situation/players were reversed, would it be called propaganda?

Iran acts in its own best interest first and foremost, as do all other countries. Iran is working the "court of public opinion" and IMHO, those who don't/can't/refuse to understand that they can play the political games, just like everyone else on the world stage, are simply insulting the country they are trying so very hard, to defend.

Thats a nice gesture coming from a country for which our media makes out to be such a monster of late.

Sometimes I wonder if our media makes the good guys look bad, while making the bad guys look good.

Don't forget, mainstream media paints Iran as the land of the boogeyman. And that Muslims also view Jesus as a Prophet (albeit, a mortal one).

Should have known that some would come in here and call this propaganda. It's gotten way too predictable as of late.

I don't think we need hostilities with Iran, period. We have been in enough wars.

And if that message came from an independent media source, which PRessTV is NOT, then it might be a little more believable as well. PressTV is nothing more than a court stenographer for the Iranian Government.

What if christianity started to teach peace;

The televangelists, and their corporate sponsors seem
to have something else in mind.
