You CAN permanently delete your facebook account.

www.facebook.com...

Click "Submit" and follow the instructions.

Your account will be deactivated for two weeks, and if you DO NOT USE FACEBOOK IN ANY WAY during that period, your account is permanently deleted.

My account is gone, tried logging in the other day to be sure, and it said no account with that email is registered. They certainly didn't make it easy to find this information though. They should have delete account instead of just disabling it.

They seem to have a tendency to do that.

Hi all, I don't post on here much but do a lot of reading on here with always an open mind. I agree with the fact that some people post too many daily personal facts about themselves on facebook or any social networking site without the proper HTTPS security. But to those that hate social networking, I have also found (just recently) that many use facebook to save lives! It is a wonderful networking tool to let people know about homeless pets dumped in "shelters" that are in dire need of adoption, before they are "PTS" (put to sleep). Reality is they are "PTDeath" and many still use gas chambers. The finality of life just because they are homeless. Just my 2 pesos...
