Hi, first let me say that i am no scholar in the art of discussing politics or what is happening in the middle east let alone any prelude to WW3 and such things..

Instead i simply go with what’s in my heart. That being said I wanted to create this post to highlight to those of you not too familiar with the importance of Iran in the unfolding of world affairs, its vital role in what many believe to be the last hurdle.

The reason i refer to Iran as the last hurdle is because from what i understand it is the last country that the west need to conquer to gain a foothold in ruling the world.

Iran is one of the most beautiful and untouched countries in the world. Not only does it offer incredible beauty but it is also one of the last major natural resources left. It has an abundance of minerals in its lands including gold, diamonds and of course oil.

There are many accounts that describe Iran as having a deep connection to the original Garden on Eden and many journalists and documentary specialists have gone in search of these connections.

Iran is also mentioned either directly or metaphorically in many holy books as the last land that will be conquered in the great war of Gog and Magog or Armageddon.

Iran has been the focal point of America and Israel for many years now and tensions are mounting with interest of Iran’s weapons capability under the spotlight. No doubt the increase of finger pointing and misinformation will surface throughout the media machine, perpetuating Iran’s offensive stance against Israel and the need for America to intervene.

There are many reasons to keep an eye on Iran. Not only are there many delicate situations at play but Iranians also believe that the end of days marks the coming of the Mahdi or Messiah for whom they have been waiting on for many years. Many Iranians are actually willing the end of days and show little fear toward any incoming wars.

In a situation like this there is very little that we in the west as conscientious citizens can do, especially when the country itself has its own path set out, one that may not favour those of a passive or neutral view.

That being said I think how things unfold in Iran over the next year and especially leading to the end of 2012 will either be Humanity's saving grace or its potential destruction.

So to anyone reading this i urge you to send your positive thoughts and prayers to Iran and its people and lets all hope Iran is pivotal in the coming future for all the right reasons.

Let's also hope that the people’s voice is loud enough to deter or fight against any actions taken by the American or Israeli governments to evoke a war for profit and control.

Let's also remember that China and Russia are Iran's allies and that any action of war against Iran is also one against China and Russia. So before things escalate and turn ugly let’s all try to raise people’s awareness around the importance of Iran to the peace of the future of the world in which we all live.

China and Russia are Iran's allies.

And we're supposed to be the bad guys here?

Dont forget about all of the attrocities happening in that country too.

I'm not for taking over other countries, but I am all for life in general. Remember something VERY important here... Iran would not be in the place they are now had it not been for their words, their actions and their arrogance. At least it's expected of us, but we're not exactly putting people in chains for their oil either. Oil is important, but I seriously doubt that we are taking over countries for their oil's sake. If this were so, we would have taken over Israel, Venezuela, South America, Iraq, and all other oil abundant countries. We fought in Iraq, but we dont own Iraq. Those countries can still very much stop the flow of oil to us if they wish. I dont see an abundance of americans in Lybia either. We may be playing a minor roll there as the UN, but not much more. I seriously doubt those people would stand for it.

So good luck with this poor Iran crap. They're just as much at fault (the government). But again, all life is precious and I dont wish any harm to come to those people, but just as we are victims here in America, especially should anyone come on our turf and attack... It is the same for those people. We are victims of our governments. Nuff said.

Atrocities will happen in every nationstate as they all follow the same agenda (except for Iran, maybe, which is why they are in this pickle) Think about it. Your taxpayers give you x amount of dollars per year to be president/prime minister, and the lobbyists/bankers give you x + 100 000 000 (estimated for arguments sake) dollars. Who's interests would you serve?

I certainly do not support going to war with Iran. However, one has to acknowledge that the government of Iran is quite tyrannical. Remember the "green revolution" and its violent crackdown? The figurehead is often provoking the West. It's certainly a 2 way street. China and Russia? I dont support the forced spread of Western banking, but I'll take the West over either of those countries any day. As bad as one might think this country or Europe is, they are Gardens of Eden compared to China, Russia, or Iran. There really is no "good guys" and "bad guys". Just different groups acting in their own interests in a world where resources are limited. If you're going to pick a side, pick the one that will be best for you and yours. So, if it came down to it, I'm for the U.S.
If Iran is humanity' last safe haven, there truly is no hope. Luckily, I'm of the opinion that your thread's title is incorrect. Nation/states/governments are doing what they've done for millenia and will continue to do as long as we domesticated primates manage not to force our own extinction.
Humanity is what it is. The individual's last safe haven is his own mind. So far anyway, they can't take that away.

I agree with the OP Iran is a precious world resource, one of the original cultures of the world with a history that goes back to the beginnings of everything human.

I would love to visit it , in a better world without all this saber rattling and threats we would discover that we have more in common than we have differences ,I don't want to nuke this beautiful valuable world heritage country ,or it's lovely people.

no use saying what evil things they do until WE clean up our act,all you have to do is scan the topics on ATS to see that our country poisons it's citizens ,subjects them to unreasonable searches, kills innocent handicapped people in police actions Daily! and the list goes on.

Iran is a treasure for humanity I would hate to loose to a nuclear war.In the past I had some Iranian friends that fled the toppling of the Shah,a lovelier people cannot be found anywhere, they shared their exotic culture with me and all I can think is that Iran is full of these beautiful, cultured ,generous warmhearted people and it makes me sick to think of killing them. Government shenanigans are worldwide ,we should clean our house first

First , i hope that there will be no war - not one started by West/Israel , nor the one started by Iran. I wish people of Iran all the best.
With all this - don't you think you are a bit too dramatic?
Iran is last safe heaven of humanity - i fail to notice hordes of representatives of the same humanity trying to get to the above-mentioned safe heaven. For example, with two and a half war-devastated countries bordering Iran, much more people choose to go to Canada - land that is known across the globe due to its lack of natural reserves and minerals.
As for Mahdi and the willing for the end of times - majority of Iranians are normal people and frankly i see no reason why they should not have the nuke ,but do not tell me that combination of leader wishing for the end of times and nuclear weapons does not worry you a little.

Dear OP,

I can understand Nationalism. Every citizen would only naturally love their country, just as our fellow human brothers and sisters in Iran loved theirs, sharing common aspirations of mankind - peace, love, justice, equality, shared prosperity, progress and responsible freedom. NO HUMAN wants war, for bullets and bombs have no name. We love each too much to contemplate war, unless every option fails....

But unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the leaders of Iran, espacially the Ayatollah.

There is ....something...inherently....wrong ...with Iran.

Iran of old is Persia. Persia is an ancient prosperous and advance cultured land ruled by many, but many were only despots. It sought for a supremacy of the world by enslaving other nations since the dawn of civilisation. But no nation wants such domination, and many lives were lost in famous battles and infamous battles.

It rosed, and fallen many times, but yet, leaders of Persia have never lost that desire for world domination - not for progress of its citizens, but very often, for one's own self glory, greed or lust for power.

Things got too out of hand, that a divine teacher was sent there - the good prophet Muhammad, blessed is his name, to lead the Persians to light. He performed many miracles in that area and during his time, he helped many arabs to know our common Creator, whom is known by many names across time and space.

But unfortunately, even before his body turned cold when his time on Earth was up, the Persia sickness in Arabia seized back control, and the domination continued on till today, misusing and misinterpretating the words of the divine teacher, and keeping the population stupid and in repression except for an elite few.

Either through luck or divine providence, many muslims today and for the past decade had the opportunity at education that had been long denied to them. With fuller comprehension of sciences and philosophies, history of our world, and finally access to the Koran which like the Bible was denied to the masses, they finally comprehending the true and intended meanings of the divine teacher for peaceful civilisation.

Thus the mass uprising you see today, for Islam had never intended the masses to be slaves, kept stupid and downtrodden. The divine teachings were for elevation of a peaceful society, co-existing with each other, with rules, regulations, tolerance, respect and free will, to progress and evolve, and much more...

But ...that seed of an ancient perverted barbaristic persian mania managed to exist in all whom became leaders of the land.....

Only our fellow human brothers and sisters in Iran, when fully understood what was the mission of the divine prophet was about, can save the great nation of Persia and rid it of that sickness amongst its leaders...just as a great change for better is happening around the world now....

At some point, I would hope that we had someone in office that could look beyond such things.

Me? Money fame anf fortune means squat to me. Give me a cardboard box, a decent job that pays for my time and age sake, and a good hearted woman with the prettiest eyes, and I'll forget about the trillions I could be making. Though, putting me in office probably would not be a safe thing to do. We wouldnt be occupying wallstreet. We woudl be occupying criminal police stations, congressmen, govenors, everyone that stands in the way for real possitive change.. That means giveing the power and say BACK to the people.

All trading would be shut down and any government involvement in business would be seen as crimes against the country.. Screw credit... Screw credit cards... If you want it, you have to get it the old fashioned way.. Work for it!

Utilities would be owned by the people, always looking for new forms of energy.... man I could go on sooo long..

Iran has no Navy to speak of.
Iran has no Air Force.

Those poor SOB's are getting slaughtered right now. They know they are dead. They can't scratch their rear unless Israel/US decides to let them do it.

China was told they can't do anything also unless we decide to allow them to do it. The reports say the Chinese sat up in their chairs in shock when they were told this.

They were surprised Israel/US/Europe are willing to start WWIII/nuclear war.

That's when China announced if they are touched by the superior US.....they're going nuclear.
And that's when the US/Israel laughed. China's nuclear arsenal would be destroyed 500 feet above the launch pads.

China tried a brave act of firing a missile from a submarine 30 miles off California's Coast. But they KNOW America is willing to sacrifice several of its cities to get its end goal.

Russia being denied access to space...China's new satellite constellation around Earth they just launched in only 12 months....likely being tinkered on by the X-37b in orbit. Now worthless space junk.

WWIII already started. Russia/China know there's no way they will remain sovereign countries. They are 100 years behind technologically because they didn't know America was killing it's own to generate revenue to fund many many projects more expensive than the Manhattan Project.

Iran essentially no longer exists. Neither does China or Russia.

Wernher Von Braun had a speech where he said his Nazi scientist group GAVE America the nuclear bomb saying only a Christian Nation should have it....because they THOUGHT we would never use it.

Apparently he was a brilliant scientific mind, but he failed to study history and how we have no respect for human life on this Earth.

I am confused, was your post intended to be sarcastic or perhaps an exercise in creative writing?

I know, some type of performance art? Kind of like Andy Kaufman's Tony Clifton alter ego but staged on an internet conspiracy forum rather than a New York taxi garage?

Regardless, my hat is off to you sir. Your post was an original

Arent we talking about that religion that stones a woman for just about breathing or waking up and getting out of bed everyday?

Why is Iran the last hurdle? What do you understand? What are you privvy to? Where's your evidence?

Iran is a geographically large Islamic nation, with a relatively large population which is kept in its place through the normal repression and hate propaganda which is common amongst such autocracies. Iran has no special claim to fame – it is not an advanced economy, has no particularly good universities or any special road network. Iran is not especially respected by its neighbours. The only thing that makes Iran notable is oil and the fact that the nation aspires to develop atomic weapons.

Why is Iran the “last hurdle”?

You missed out that Iran has been the “focal point” of Russia, the British (Empire), Iraq (who tried to nab bits), and if you keep going back you can throw in Greeks, the wider Arab community, the Turks and the Mongols and others. More recently you can chuck in China, but hey, let’s not spoil your point!

To be fair on Israel and the US, the “focal point” is both ways. In the case of Israel that has been demonstrated by Iran’s active participation the two Arab Israeli wars (Six Day and Yon Kippur), plus the support and funding of groups like Hezbollah and other meddling and mischief.

To my knowledge neither China or Russia have military treaties with Iran. Iran has not been able to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. In the very unlikely event that Iran is attacked by Israel, the USA or Bali the only people Iran could bleat to would be the UN, the Arab League or their mates in Syria.

See that's why people like you or I will never hold any sort of power. Because they know that people like us might actually do some good. That's why there's never really that much brain cell activity going on in most of your presidential candidates and in our prime ministorial candidates.

Why Iran may be Humanity's last Safe Haven

Not if you are homosexual, you'll be hung in the town square and it' will be legal. Not if you are a woman who dares to go barefoot. Not if you are a christian pastor who refuses to 'convert' to Islam. Seriously ... Iran is definately NOT a safe haven for anyone. It's a mess. Their 'moral police', their Imams, and their whacky leadership insures that.

That's regurgitating bull propaganda from Israel. Thanks for outing yourself as a political troll. There are indeed harsh laws, but people do not get executed for being gay. Christians do not persecuted like you make it out to be, as i know christians that go in and out of iran without hassle. do not bother posting blog articles that assume reasons for executions. Furthermore, nearly every single poster in this thread is in dire need of education. Talking about slavery in combination with Persia...I would say there are a few Israeli trolls in this thread trying to steer opinions.

To the OP: Iran fell to the West ever since the 79 revolution that brought Western Islamic puppets into the country. If Iran were to be a last bastion of anything, religion and government would be separated and people would be given equal oppurtunities regardless of skin color, religion, heritage, sexual prefferance, monetary/material possessions. But wait...you can't find any of those countries in the world so humanity as you put it, is lost already. It is up to individuals to organize and bring humanity into this world for the FIRST time, nothing less...nothing more. Personally speaking, I am doing my part by spreading good thoughts amongst people and treating people nicely, not discriminating. Sure, sheltered and narrow minds will not come near me, but the majority of people do. Even on the internet.

I had thought to ignore your comments, for it is only plain to the more discerning that you obviously know nothing about religion nor societal evolution, but for the sake of others whom may be prejudical to think like you, I should only respond, to shed further light on your concerns.

Stoning of women, cutting limbs off criminals, discrimination against women, etc - are not confined to one religion alone. It happened to ALL mainstream religions at one point of time or another till they progressed.

When Christianity became a mainstream european religion 300 yrs after the Messiah, such methods were still employed right up to 17th century Catholic AND Protestant camps. It was perhaps necessary, for those were the days of oppression by monarchs with no education for serfs. But the age of enlightenment changed all that in the 17th century when education became avaliable not only to the priestly class, but to skill workers' children. THAT is progress and evolution.

In the Arab world for centuries prior to Prophet Muhammad's time, such methods were equally employed. Initially, even during the good prophet's time, lawlesslessness and brigandry was common in Persia. As such, rough justice had been necessary to put an end to barbarism. One cannot meet normadic, cave or jungle barbarians and expect them to comprehend written laws.

After the good prophet's time, when greedy and power lusting men sized power, they resorted to such measures to retain control, and did nothing to educate or progress their people, but only to indulge in their own personal pleasure, till the 19th century and after the war, when general freedom to mankind was adopted, schools and education began to seriously elevate arabian lives.

Today, many in the west will feel no need for such harsh laws and will even condemn them. We are fortunate to have a headstart of 300 years than our arab brothers and sisters and a mere 50 years ago that ended racial and women discrimination .

Many of them, espacially in Afghanistan, Pakistan and the border regions, have no or little access to education, to know better, to respect or trust rule of law.

At the end of the day, it is the will of the Masses that rules the land, never the leaders. Should they prefer such harsh methods and discriminations, it is their choice and consequences to bear. If not, it will still be their choice to select for better, and NOT at any foreigner's insistance.

We on the outside, can only help by encouraging and educating, but never to interfere, or worse, rush in with arms stupidly as the moron Bush did, unless the people are being murdered and SEEK for help as happened in Libya.

Iran is no safe haven today for sure, but if mankind can change to progress and evolve, then our world itself will be a safe haven for us all.

so do you want me to post how systems of authority abuse people's rights worldwide? it only takes jealousy for a cop to stop a minority driving a nice car in the US. Lets not mention the systematic spread of hatred towards Muslims through deeds of the MSM. In the Netherlands gay couples are pretty much scared out of neighborhoods if the people around them find out...and nothing is really done about it...in the Netherlands for crying out loud.

I vehemently disagree with death sentences in whichever country they take place.
