I would say most definetly. Looking at your map and others that I have seen. Oh yea, it is definenty fracking.

Lets see what Eric has to say.

Looking at Google maps, I don't see anything that looks frack pads near the epicenter:

And I've seen quite a few out in west/north central Texas and Arkansas that are surrounded by them.

ETA

Whoa pardner...had to zoom out a bit:

Epicenter can be seen by scrolling right...

It may very well be after all...
edit on 10-5-2012 by jadedANDcynical because: added second, zoomed out, picture

Looking even close, it appears as though many of those sites are traditional oil wells as you can see the rigs. I also note that I don't see very many condensation pools near any of the above indicated pads (of which there an absolute crap-ton, not all I circled) which is indicative of fracking.

Not saying they aren't fracking out there, but from above a traditional drilling site and a fracking site look very similar.

Got to agree with Geofon on that one, there is no way thats just a 5.2.
On those graphs you showed and also all the South American ones, even Brazil they have a high trace, and all LISS graphs have quite a long signal even if the line isn't high, even Zambia is showing the quake, and you can't get much further away from Easter Island than that, 5.2 my azz.
Unfortunately I only have one SNZO with Easter Island on it to compare with, a 5.3 on 2012/02/01 21:43:46.48 a bit further south at -31.5850 -111.5250 and 10km deep. That 5.3 number was ANSS/USGS so how the heck can this latest one be 5.2?.

Did you happen to look at the date on that link? He isn't talking about the most recent one.

Yeah the Taiwan one was on the newfangledrealtimeearthquakemap on 28/4/2012 when I figured out how it worked, I posted it here on ATS QW2012 page 121
I didn't mention the 2 x 6 W of Sumatra though, perhaps they weren't there then, as you say.

Probably worth checking back on the global 6's, but yesterday I had a look at NZ quakes and thinking of carrying on with the Revised page. I had done 17 days into 2011, in September 2011, then left it alone, quite a huge task, especially cross referencing the data for changes. I want to see the results but don't really have the free time to do it.

I think in this instance, since they are all tied in to the Indonesian big one, the seismogram are difficult to sort of individual quakes and for quite some time after a large (8+) quake others will be 'found' so I am not overly surprised at the Indonesian ones.

The Taiwan quake is more of a concern since you say it was on the interactive but it was NOT on the text files and that is what many of these alerts and blogs use for their information. If is is on one it should be on the other.

I only spotted it because I was double checking the older ones.

Just noticed the ID on the one you posted: us2012zgm1

That confirms it never came out in the listings. They all start with b or c. That style of ID is for quakes after 7 days in the old system.

I live in north central Indiana about 50 miles north of Indianapolis, earlier this afternoon, I was sitting on the ground planting and seeding around a huge sycamore tree, I felt below me a awful thud. It sounded like huge boulders hitting each other below the ground. My first thought was sit and wait to see if an earthquake is in progress, but nothing happened. I see we had one later in the day in the southern part of the state. The earth is waking up.

Don't know if you're in to this type of thing, but Nostradamus, and the Mayans both predicted a mega earthquake on May 20, 2012. That's when the Sun, Moon, Earth, and the Pleiades will be in alignment.
Maybe this is just the preliminary taste of what's to come! Hold on to your hats!!!

That Göran Ekström is good

Lousy Map though (someone should do that properly, and make an interactive one, perhaps when there is a program that will lift the data and do it automatically so it updates as they come and go)

edit: amazing what you can do with some funding eh, $US411,269 since October 2008 www.nsf.gov...
Worth every penny IMO

I've remarked those SNZO graphs, and while I was at it added the text with the main quake on each one below the thumbnails so its easier to find a matching event in the future. (link in my signature below)
