Traveling Along the Astral Plane

This is a subject I've been interested for some time. My questions are two fold, one is how do you get to the state of mind to be able travel? And how do you know that what your experiencing isnt just something you conjured up in your mind?

if anyone here is interested there is another site here on ats started by the river goddess. it is about 140 pages long so far and growing . it is- oobe`s are real -there is a lot of information on the astral and how to use it along with the oobe`s .one is the same as the other except that one is done wile sleeping and the other is done while being awake.
