What are you wanting me to defend? Obama got dragged over the coals and so will all other presidential candidates. I fail to see how my statement about Reverend Wright (someone who did NOT run for president) in any way contradicts my belief that all candidates should be ready to be dragged over the coals...
I also agree with that. It seems to me that on one side of the "divide" we have a group of people who are resistant to change, progression, progressive political views and anything inclusive of everyone. They want to keep things as they are and even go back in time to a time when we didn't talk so openly about certain subjects. The time when abortion, homosexuality, atheism and interracial couples weren't really accepted as a social norm. I really see the two sides of the division as progressives and traditionalists. Obama is progressive with his views on homosexuality, abortion, religion and inclusion. The traditionalists feel threatened, as if they are losing their country. The progressives are excited, looking forward to a future of solar power and tolerance. And any time people feel threatened, they're willing to fight. They're willing to stop the progress. And that can be dangerous.

26 pages so far, on such a none issue. Lets be clear before any more space is wasted, RON PAUL WILL NEVER BE THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. With that being said, all the rest of this discussion is a waste of bandwidth. Is Ron Paul rasist, who cares but he is sloppy. He let out under his own signature, either by willful ignorance or acquiescence statements that have no place is public discourse. If and a BIG if he were to be Pres, would he be as inattentive with his administration. Flame on

You and others who think like you seem hard pressed to deny that Paul ever took responsibility and apologized and repudiated racist beliefs.
Ron Paul apologized for his racist beliefs??? WHERE???

nah it's your position on dragging ron paul over the coals, et.al, that he is a racist because he was in some way associated with a racist.
if you're not a democrat, you're a marxist or something

I didn't mean to twist your words. That's what I thought you were saying. Can you link to his apology? I haven't seen it. Thanks.

now why would you be calling for him to take responsibility
for racist comments that he didn't make, if you weren't calling him a racist in the first place?
Some choice quotes:
"Given the inefficiencies of what DC laughingly calls the criminal justice system, I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal."
"We are constantly told that it is evil to be afraid of black men, it is hardly irrational."
After the Los Angeles riots, one article in a newsletter claimed, "Order was only restored in L.A. when it came time for the blacks to pick up their welfare checks."
One referred to Martin Luther King Jr. as "the world-class philanderer who beat up his paramours" and who "seduced underage girls and boys."
Another referred to Barbara Jordan, a civil rights activist and congresswoman as "Barbara Morondon," the "archetypical half-educated victimologist." www.theatlantic.com...

They already got some 'dirt' on rp.
Video surfaces of Ron Paul talking about racist newsletters in 1995, far earlier than he said he knew about them
