I agree on all counts, friend. Just saying I can understand Paul's response here, even if I can't approve of it in full. I can imagine how frustrating it must be, but he DOES need to handle it well as this is pretty much *the* big stumbling block.

Take care.

U mad bro? :-)

I agree!

First of all, if this is the best they can dig up, something that was written 20 years ago. The crime here is that he didn't notice it? Ill buy that for a dollar!

Personally I agree with Dr. Paul,he has addressed this issue many times and this is all mud the opposition can dig up on him.The msm continues with to bring this up so they can hope the people with a short attention span will hear half of it and believe he had said it.
Ron Paul stands for all people,in no way is he a racist

If he has addressed this so many times....who wrote the newsletters?

If you don't know the answer to that question...then he hasn't addressed this issue yet.

This is exactly what I was trying to convey in the other thread about this. This is the first time Ron Paul has been a viable candidate for the nomination. As a result this is the first time many people are seeing him. It doesn't matter if he's explained this numerous times in the past. If there's even one person watching that wasn't aware of these allegations he should be ready and willing to explain the matter over and over again as that is one more potential vote that he's going to need.

The thing that is also very frustrating is that if any other candidate had done this (or Obama) they would have been crucified to no end on this site. How since it happened to Our Lord Ron Paul everyone else is at fault. As I've said in the past I like the guy and would probably vote for him. However, this practice of turning him in to a Messiah and acting as if he can do no wrong needs to stop. This is the exact same kind of fanaticism that put Obama in the Oval Office. As long as we allow our political decisions to be driven by emotion we will never break away from the two-party system and the left-right dichotomy.

OP, the smear of "antisemitism" no longer works. It has been abused far too many times, not unlike the boy who cried wolf. Here is Ben Stein accusing Ron Paul of being antisemitic for saying that the US were occupiers in Iraq:

It's as if his brain turned off the moment he heard "occupy" and immediately thought of Israel. "Occupy? How dare he say occupy?! Antisemite! Antisemite!" Pretty LULZY considering the interview had nothing to do with Israel or Jews.

ATS is patrolled, more so than other sites, by paid shills in think tanks. The Israeli Hasbara Fellowship has a presence here due to 9/11 and Fukushima conspiracy theories. For some reason they seem to be using what I call 'junior' tactics which involves labeling everything they don't like as antisemitic. Were this a political forum on Israel/Palestine, they would avoid using it due to it's ineffectiveness. Not saying OP is a shill, just saying to watch out for them. Especially anybody who uses the antisemitic term. Normal people don't use that term.

Ron Paul is not racist (debunked) or antisemitic. Cutting off foreign aid from Israel or criticizing Israel for their brutality is not antisemitism. If Israel was made up of Canadians instead of Jews, nobody would care about these things. Regardless of the literal definition of semite and how antisemite is literally incorrectly used, (like calling petroleum 'gas' for example) it can basically be thought of as 'anti-Jewish' and that's not how it is used. It is used by non-Jews and Jews alike to deflect criticism.

If somebody disagrees with your position on Israel, they might call you an antisemite. It's so laughable.I'm not trying to offend anybody who is Jewish, but Israel dug their grave and now they have to lie in it. Conning the West via Jewish persecution used as sympathy it an outrage. All the fundamentalist "useful idiots" defending Israel are nuts. You don't criticize a country like Iran and then unconditionally support a far more evil nation like Israel unless you're insane. And no they aren't evil because they're Jews. They're evil because Zionism is a fascist political ideology and they are getting away with war crimes, Apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and various other Nazi behavior. They get upset when you make the Nazi analogy, but come on folks. Call a spade a spade. You say the truth, you don't hold back when they're killing people just because it might hurt their feelings. Most Israel citizens are innocent, they've just been brainwashed into this whole Zionism thing. it's the leaders of Israel who are a threat to the security of the world. They have 'secret' nukes, their finger on the button, and they aren't afraid to push it to light up the middle east. Maybe even the entire world (google 'Samson Option')
you said a mouthful, and I agree and from what little truth we get I understand the people of Israel are in the same position as we are in the sense that most of them don't agree with their government and the policies they promote. They play the anti semite card the same way they tried to use the race card against anyone that disagreed with Obama.Just another tactic used by the criminals that run the show....

That's it? That's that best we can come up with against Ron Paul? Thin, very thin...

Hell, Nixon was more racist than RP, and for that matter so was Lincoln - and he freed the slaves.

Yeah that Ron Paul, he's really racist alright. Let me tell ya I grew up in the Land of Lincoln - Illinois - and then moved to Memphis with my job, I was there for twenty years. In the Memphis-wide area there are still active Klan and blacks still have a fear of areas that are too white and have too many tall oak trees. And Ron Paul is racist? I do not think you really know what racism is sir.

But let's, just for a moment, say that Ron Paul is a racist You would prefer more of the same. You would prefer another PTB lackey who is going to let the banks run us deeper into debt with their imaginary fiat money? You would prefer someone who will continue to kill our youth in wars to protect Big Oil, Big Pharma, and the CIAs main black funding tool, namely illicit drug smuggling? You really want more of that?

Crooked has been the watchword for success in America for so long now some of you wouldn't know an honest man if he walked up and shook your hand. But I will give you a clue...

If someone appears that you have this difficult a time finding something real to complain about you have met your honest man. As one of the last honest men left on the planet, or at least so it seems, I can tell you very quickly Ron Paul is another one.

I am voting for Ron Paul but I do not see him as a Messiah. Who came up with that crap about the Messiah anyway? It smells like a FOX buzzword to me.

Personally, I do not agree with RP about business. Free Market does not work ever - which has been proved ad nauseum in America del Sud, and now in the US - and Milton Friedman is/was an idiot. However, now that industry has left our shores perhaps this isn't the time to chase them off a little better. I mean the White House puppet show has already let the jobs get away - which has more to do with "derivatives" than most of us would dare to guess - and now we need jobs badly. So yes, we need to bring jobs back to this country, and maybe Ron Paul is right about how to attract them back but that is not why I am voting for him.

One of my favorite episodes of the Thames series World At War has Mrs. Bonhoeffer (anyone know who Deitrich Bonhoeffer was? en.wikipedia.org...) quoting her husband saying that "a Dictatorship is like a snake, if you grab it by the tail it will just bite you. You must strike at the head." Well for my money - no pun intended - the head of the snake is the Federal Reserve Bank and it must end it's usury policies towards everyone who is not part of the so called 1%. if we end the Fed - history shows clearly - we reduce inflation to a negligible degree, will be able to end the Federal Income Tax (of which all individual income tax returns go directly to the Federal Reserve), and greatly limit our power to be the neo-empire we have become.

And ending the Federal Reserve Bank would greatly prosper all of us little folk, black, white or brown!

I think you guys need to keep digging for something on Ron Paul. This racism charge is not only a non issue and laughable but shows just how hard it is to find anything of substance to level at Dr. Paul.

Remember Thomas Jefferson ended the first Central Bank after twenty years, Andrew Jackson ended the second Central Bank after twenty years and we have let this Central Bank go unchecked for nearly a hundred! Everything Jefferson and Jackson worried about in conjunction with a Central Bank has come to pass and we are not enjoying it at all. Guess they were right huh? For my money we are overdue for Ron Paul.

If you don't know the answer to that question...then he hasn't addressed this issue yet.
What difference would it make?At this point in the game it doesn't matter who wrote the articles,Dr. Paul has said many times he didn't write the paper, and doesn't agree with what it says. What do they expect him to change his answer?Or are they just looking for a reaction? What is their angle? It's funny how the major news outlet have tried to ignore him in hopes that he would go away and now he a front runner and can't ignore him,so this is all they want to ask him?Why not go after the important issues he stands for?Our country is currently in the hole right now and I think there are more important issues to discuss? If this is all legitimate on their part why are they being repetitious in asking the same thing over and over? Are they trying to pull a Herman Cain to get him out? When they(media) play the same game over and over it's not hard to know what the next move will be.

I have a better question; Who cares?!

Twenty years before Nixon took office he was lying about every opponent he ever ran against saying they were all "reds". Someone wrote a newsletter for Ron Paul so he shouldn't be President? Maybe he doesn't brush his teeth the right way either. You guys are wearin' me out with this crap!

You think someone just not going to be a racist anymore?
FYI, I do not watch or get my research from mainstream news there is plenty of evidence on the internet that proves Ron Paul is a racist.
You can preach your sermon all day long, however you will not steer me over to a man who used to condemn blacks, gays, and Jews. People rarely change.
Whatever you say champ. Tell me, since people don't change, based on your perspective, Ron Paul is still a racist, correct? Throughout his political career, he's given at the very least 1,000 speeches, and I'd bet you can find over 5,000 interviews/speeches/debate questions on the internet.

Find us one single instance in which Ron Paul says something blatantly racist like those things seen in the newsletter. From the plethora of resources available on the internet, show us just one single video of him saying something racist, since based on your opinion, he is a racist.

I'm not talking about a video where he explains that the Civil Rights Act had to do with infringing on property rights, and you conclude that he's a closet racist because of that, I'm talking about a speech where he is spouting the most hateful, racist rhetoric that's even 1/5th as bad as that seen in the newsletter.

Good luck

With that logic, in every single Newt Gingrich interview, he should have to explain himself on receiving $1.8 million from Freddie Mac, flip-flopping on several positions, as well as cheating on his wife when she had cancer. Does that happen? Nope, instead the media makes him look like the innocent victim of a "rough" political smear campaign when Ron Pauls campaign ads simply point out factual information.

Also, in every Mitt Romney interview, he should have to explain why the American people should trust him even though his campaign is being funded by the major financial institutions. Does that happen? Nope.

This has been covered, as you know, so you're not gonna sway anymore RP vet supporters. This information is old and quite frankly, stale.

These are the very same comments I hear on the 911 threads when the debunkers are against the wall.
“This information is old and quite frankly, stale” perhaps to you, however not everyone knows what you and I know, and you do not speak for all the American population as I don’t as well.

Why dont you address my entire post instead of just cherry picking?

Also, the argument you make can be applied to any situation so your 911 comparipson kinda falls short, especially because theres a lot of evidence people use to support their 9/11 theories (whether OSer or Truther), even coming up with new theories and/or evidence. Meanwhile you post the same old stale BS that has been discussed to death. This is so stale that RP is even sick of talking about it.

If you wanna believe RP is a racist then that's fine, but don't be shocked if most people dont join you, well besides CNN

Where's you Rick Perry threads aboout his N-Word Ranch? I mean let's get all the racism out there

Wow. I cannot believe how finicky some are with their beliefs and opinions. If you spent a little bit of time researching the origin of this document, you will find that Ron Paul had absolutely NOTHING to do with it.

And do you honestly think ANY politician would simply THROW AWAY support from the side he/she is insulting? There is absolutely nothing to gain, and EVERYTHING to lose. That fact alone should tell you that something isn't right. And again, this man is NOT a racist, and this newsletter reflects the views of someone who either IS racist, or was trying to make Dr. Paul look bad.

Instead of sticking to the issues, everyone wants to drag out and dwell on the ONE blemish Paul has, and it isn't even his fault. Things like this happen when you entrust things to other people, and that is exactly what happened in this case.

Do you think Dr. Paul actually wrote, typed, printed, and distributed his own newsletter? No Congressman has time for that, and that is why they have aides and delegate these tasks to other people. Apparently he picked the wrong person. But again, he is NOT racist, and that is the ONLY time you will find anything similar to this, and he isn't responsible for that.

ETA: It's funny how people are so up in arms about this, and EVERYONE keeps asking him about this, yet the other candidates have things in their past much more damning, which they are responsible for, unlike Paul in this case.

I would walk off to if I were in that position. Why should he have to keep answering the same STUPID question over and over again? He walked off probably thinking how STUPID some Americans are...Instead of focusing on the issues, they want reality-tv/soap-opera drama which he has said he had nothing to do with in the first place.

If it is this aggravating for me, I can only imagine how he feels. But I am sure that those who are dumb enough to vote for a candidate because he can talk well, or looks good, instead of his stance on the issues and finding out the TRUTH, then they deserve what they get if Paul isn't elected. You think Bush was bad? Think Obama was bad? All other candidates would be worse than both of those liars combined.

Paul hasn't lied yet, what makes you think he is lying now?

Stupid thread and rather pathetic. Same garbage that has been shown to be nothing but a smear of lies. Ron Paul has my vote, thank you for reinforcing that decision.
