The cause was hijacked by Soros & went along with by the media to distract from the real issues.
The communist's & kids are just plants of Soros.

Real people with real concerns about crony capitalisim, banker bailouts and a criminal government - well they never get heard or reported on. The whole movement was hijacked....for now anyway.

Peace

Do you really believe that the movement was hijacked by Soros? If Soros had hijacked OWS, dont you think that the camps would still be allowed as they were in NY, Oakland, San Francisco, LA, and every other place the OWS camps were met with police violence? You really believe that? Time for a reality check.

OWS denied Soros, and the attempt to hijack the movement. When they realized that they could not co-opt OWS as "The Lefts Tea-Party" and were told to go fornicate themselves, the camps were shut down.

Video related - what is going through my head right now.

Soros couldn't Hijack what he already owned. The origins of the call for OWS in August and September are hard to miss and it never had a chance of independence, in some ways. TPM is much the same for only slightly different reasons.

What matters though...and ALL that matters in the end...95% of the actual people in OWS/Occupy or TPM weren't getting paid squat by anyone, let alone co-opted. Sold out is the term, not co-opted. That keeps suggesting that protesters got anything but screwed in the end.

WHY that matters is 95% of the people can come BACK together if they realize they didn't really need the flashy organizers to do this..and sure don't need them to do it RIGHT for Part 2...that goes for both sides. 2012 can be a turning point to better years to come or it can be a deep tragedy. It's really up to us all out here....each with our own decisions to make.

Just for clarification - The Origins of OWS I know, its wikipedia. Adbusters made the original call for OWS. Just a little background for those that do not know.

Another good read on the no link between adbusters and soros

and a Reuters story / link that is referenced in the politico article

Agreed on adbusters...but if one thinks back, it wasn't just the polished ads they put out ahead of time calling for a protest with a tent in lower Manhattan. Anonymous and affiliated groups were also calling for the same thing and simply leaving off any formal name for the movement to come.

There were a lot of players with agendas involved with the initial pushing to form Occupy......but they did it and we, the people, learned. WE can do it again and do it without all those cooks in the kitchen screwing up a jelly sandwich. It's just my thinking...but I think we all learned more than enough to reform and do it from the center outward into both sides of 'the people' out here in normal America.

Agreed. There were quite a bit of calls from all over. I got involved in Oakland on Oct. 15th, but had been reading about it for the first month, and watching it spread and grow across the U.S. I did a lot of research before becoming involved, to make sure it was something I wanted to be involved in.

There were a lot of players with agendas involved with the initial pushing to form Occupy......but they did it and we, the people, learned.

We even had the communist party out in force on Nov. 2nd with speakers at the booth they had set up for the general strike. Heck, at one point I think the Nazi party endorsed OWS. Amazing the amount of people that came out of the woodwork to try to push their own agendas.

WE can do it again and do it without all those cooks in the kitchen screwing up a jelly sandwich.

With this quote, you have made a friend for life in me.

Agree with OWS or not, its a starting point for some real reform from the people of the US that are tired of the BS, thats for sure. If anything, we have created national dialogue about problems we all knew were there, but felt powerless to stop. Maybe OWS has started the reempowerment of the people. One can only hope, and keep moving forward.

1% trolls are funny serous though

The irony is most OWS haters/trolls occupy the basement, the elite have no need to troll. They have these useful idiots that really are just out to aggravate you, then you have tea party people or shills out to make both movements look bad. Think about it... one would think controlled opposition would be beneficial in pitting both sides of the chess board in to eternal stalemate.

Nobody in the Tea Party gets paid. It was all do it yourself stuff based on participation. I even know someone who traveled with the Tea Party Express and this person had to use whatever small amount of money she had to live on. There was no Mr Koch to pay for those expenses.

It really gets tiring watching you call everybody who disagrees with OWS a troll. Living out of the basement no less. Well guess what, no basements where I live. You need to grow up about this and realize that people just have opinions. Maybe you are the one in your parent's basement and just projecting that out to people you don't know and have no clue about.

The Tea Party predated OWS, so how can Tea Party be out to make OWS look bad? OWS did that all by themselves. The Tea Party doesn't have to do anything at all.

Great post Hawika. Yes, the Pilgrim's experiment in socialism did predate Karl Marx. Unfortunately, the State has gained a great deal of control over our lives.

It's good to see people catching on to his strategy.

When a person has no good argument, resort to name calling.
Sheep
FoxNews..bla bla
Dis Info Agent.
Troll
etc.

I would expect that from the people in the UFO forums.

Good question in the comment section of that link.

Where were they the first time around?

lol..

I wonder if its just a group of like 5 people trying to hype themselves up.
I think one confused marine (actually not sure what branch he was in) showed up a few months ago and got his head smashed in.
Nothing will happen more, empty hype.

To the anti-OWSers that would be so happy for everyone to go back home and go back to sleep,

What are you doing to improve your neighborhood/suburb/city/country?

You all seem to have a go at the protesters for "having no answers", so what are your answers? What are you doing to promote your answers? What are you doing to try and effect change?

You are either happy with the current climate or not? If not, why are you not doing anything to try and change things?

If you are doing something, what are you doing?

What are your proposals for moving your country forward and how do you propose to go about creating change via "proper" methods?

Cheers

Wow, not one response from those against OWS. Why am I not surprised??

I had an idea that there were a lot of keyboard warriors all too happy to sit on a forum and bag out others yet do nothing or contribute anything themselves. This surely confirms that suspicion.

Well done.

I have been reading this (profane) for far too long. And finally someone says something that makes sense. Thanks!

I will also reiterate what I said back on page 12 or whatever...

That is, to sum: we are so busy pointing out how and why the other side is wrong, that we neglect to take stock of our own lives and fix that which needs fixing...divided we stay, divided we fall

Stop feeding the machine.

Oh, we had our fair share of hippies, they did most of the "Sitting around and doing nothing." I mentioned.

Oh yeah ! And a specific group of those hippies stole most of the donation money "Occupy Toronto" collected and ran back home when the police raided the park.

Yeah, I showed up and i'd by lying if I said that I didn't meet some great people and new friends. Personally, I think "Occupy" just became a fad or the "In thing to do" before it had any type of real effect.

For what it's worth, I got to meet John E. Erb, author of "The Slow Poisoning Of America" at Occupy Toronto, He had some interesting things to say and was pretty cool. Smoke a LOT of clown tobacco too....

Look, I don't think anyone here disagrees with the fact that corporations, wall street and the government are connected at the hip. No one disagrees with the fact that regulations need to be put in place to stop wall street, the corporations and the banks from committing fraud to make a profit and expecting the people to pay for them when their schemes fall apart.

Here is where some will disagree with me:

The part of OWS that pushes me away is most of the OWS movement seems to think that the government is there to look out for them. I don't care how much money you take from the 1%, the 10% or the 50% - with the growing obligation of entitlement programs eventually the money is going to run out. The government was never there to look out for your every need and want, the world is not some utopia - it can be a cruel and harsh place, that is the nature of life.

OWS should be renamed to ( Obstruct commerce, commit adulty in public, Destroy personal and public property, and show the world how lazy Occupiers really are ) not to mention they shoved the Homeless aside. Total disrespect for anything types of people. Mostly Dem's it seems or Left slanted. All most of them really accomplished was getting their name on a radical protestor red flag list.
not smart these days.
