In relation to the original story, and as a few have said already............

Britain first 'landed' on the Falklands in 1690.............. some time before Argentina exsisted and long before the Monroe Doctrine....
The Falkland Islanders want to remain British, regardless of the odd one who goes off to Argentina for publicity purposes...
Argentina has a female leader who is desperate to deflect attention away from the fact that Argentina still has serious problems economically........ a conflict would be good for morale..
For the other latin American countries to try and prove a point is a dangerous Step into the Nationalistic furvour SIMILAR to the early / mid 1930's which was the precursor of WW2.......

When trading blocs start becoming insular, like we are starting to see in Europe as well then I'm afraid that it is only a matter of time before we see the next global conflict.....sorry folks.......

Regards

PDUK

Getting back on topic, the Faulkland Islands is recognised by the UN as being British Soverign. Therefore the south american nations have no right to place trade embargo's on the Faulkland Islanders based on the fact Argentina claim it as there's, despite them never in History having any natives on the island.

personal insults are against T&C.And making libel against others.

Anyways.

Here are the facts again:
sites.google.com...

It is estimated that 1.8 billion Indians died avoidably from dire deprivation under the British, notable atrocities including 10 million Indians butchered in reprisals for the 1857 uprising (see Amaresh Misra's book “ “War of Civilizations: India AD 1857” –(Volume I -The Road to Delhi; & Volume II- The Long Revolution) ” : warofcivilisations.blogspot.com... ), the Great Bengal Famine of 1769-1779 (that killed 10 million Bengalis, 1/3 of the population), 2 centuries of British-imposed famines that killed scores of millions, most notably in the latter half of the 19th century and culminating in the 1943-1945 Bengali Holocaust, the man-made atrocity in which 6-7 million Indians in Bihar, Bengal, Assam and Orissa were deliberately starved to death by the British in the World War 2 Bengal Famine (see the transcript of the BBC broadcast “Bengal Famine” involving me, Nobel Laureate Professor Amartya Sen and other scholars: www.open2.net... ; see also Gideon Polya's book “Jane Austen and the Black Hole of British History”: globalavoidablemortality.blogspot.com... ).
www.countercurrents.org...

newbritishempire.site11.com...

This is more evidence (if more evidence were wanted) of India “moving forward” (to quote the horrible contemporary Newspeak) after suffering 2 centuries of genocidal British rule in which avoidable deaths in India from British-imposed deprivation in the period 1757-1947 totaled 1.8 billion, an Indian Holocaust and an Indian Genocide as defined by Article 2 of the UN Genocide Convention. Using census and other estimates of Indian population in these periods, post-invasion excess deaths totaled 0.6 billion, 1757-1837; 0.5 billion, 1837-1901 under Queen Victoria; and 0.4 billion in 1901-1947; this being 1.5 billion in total and 1.8 billion victims if the carnage in the various royalty-ruled Indian British Protectorate States are included.
mwcnews.net...

You are the biggest mass murderers on the entire planet.

Madhusree Mukerjee systematically successively analyzes the background to the Bengali Holocaust in a prologue that deals with British India and the massive recurrent man-made famines, commencing with the 1769-1770 Bengal Famine in which 10 million people died due to British greed. Not quoted is Amaresh Misra’s book “War of Civilizations: India AD 1857” that estimates that 10 million people died in British reprisals for the 1857 Indian rebellion. While the appalling famine history of British India is outlined the genocidal aspect is downplayed. Thus it can be estimated from British census and comparative mortality data that 1.8 billion Indians died prematurely less than 2 centuries of British rule. While Mukerjee makes clear the British economic exploitation of India, she downplays the reality that endemic poverty and hunger in India made it possible for a distant island of scores of millions to rule hundreds of millions of disempowered Indian subjects with the help of well-fed sepoys and other collaborators...

Just one point may I raise, Britain no longer has an Empire. It has a commonwaelth of which each member nation can remove itself from given the will of its own people. So your point is totally irrelevant.

More about the Ascension Islands, Just of the coast of South America.

"The original purpose of constructing this station was to support the early Surveyor missions, whose Atlas-Centaur launch vehicles would produce a direct-ascent trajectory to the Moon, rather than insertion from a parking orbit. Translunar injection would therefore occur before the spacecraft was visible to either the Johannesburg station or the stations in Spain. Consequently, a station nearer to the launch site than these facilities was needed to obtain during this phase positional data vital to trajectory determination and midcourse corrections"

You see this shows how ignorant you are, the UK conquered India with a small army (10,000 men) just looking at your figures shows you cannot be right, 0.6 billion killed post invasion, that means every and every British soldier killed 60,000 people. if we had sent 100,000 troops (which we didn't) they would of killed 6000 people each, and even if we sent a million troops they would of killed 600 each, now British troops are damn good, best in the world, but they are not capable of killing 60,000 per man, your figures are bogus and misleading, to imagine an army armed with muskets could kill 60,000 people each, shows your level of intellect is very low.

The population of India is 1.2 billion, the highest it has ever been, if we had killed 1.8 billion the population now would be less than 100 million, obviously it is not. This is not to say Britain has not committed atrocities, it has, we were the first to create a concentration camp (in South Africa, for the Dutch though not for the natives) and we ruled ruthlessly and with an iron fist, but we don't kill civilians, they were after all needed to work for us.

As for the Falklands, which lies 400 miles away from Argentina and has NEVER been in their territorial waters, never been owned or occupied by anyone from Argentina, and never will be. Argentina only wants them because of the gas and the oil fields, well those rights belong to the Falkland isles and the people who live there and have lived there for nearly 200 years

If Europeans should get out of there, then all Europeans should get out of all the Americas, but hey don't come here because we don't you, you are all to stupid and thick to be accepted in our society, besides were sick of saving your asses. You have to remember the whole of the world hates America, your only allies are the Europeans and the Commonwealth (British Colonies) piss us off and you have no one else to support the US imperial war machine any more

As is the libel you lay against our nation.

I'd like you to provide the academic credentials of the person behind that website, then I would like you to explain how we could possibly have killed 600,000,000 Indians when the Indian population never exceeded 500,000,000 until shortly after 1960.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was your own website.

Nope his post stated we killed 600,000,000 post invasion, we sent in 10,000 troops to conquer India, so when they invaded and conquered (post invasion) he claims we had killed 0.6 billion, with 10,000 troops, the maths don't work period, our troops could not of killed 60,000 people each with a musket, flint and tinder, I know the majority of Americans are really dumb, but even they must do the basic of maths for gods sake

Ah yes, the famous Dr Gideon Polya, for whom no indication of their academic credentials can be found through a google search. The top results link back to his own google hosted website, and some postings he made for the extremely reliable Al Jazeera network. It's no wonder his work has never been submitted for peer review, since it would just be thrown out - exactly like it was when he attempted to present it to the UN!

Your source is bogus and you are a fool.

Reading between the lines then, if push comes to shove, Uruguay and Chile are basically paying lip sefvice to their neighbours rather than actually agreeing with them?

If the President said they wouldn't support a proper maritime blockade then this really is a non story isn't it?

So we should all probably calm down a bit!

Stop lying and check again

Dr Gideon Polya currently teaches science students at a major Australian university. He published some 130 works in a 5 decade scientific career, most recently a huge pharmacological reference text "Biochemical Targets of Plant Bioactive Compounds" (CRC Press/Taylor & Francis, New York & London , 2003). He has recently published “Body Count. Global avoidable mortality since 1950” (G.M. Polya, Melbourne, 2007: globalbodycount.blogspot.com... ); see also his contributions “Australian complicity in Iraq mass mortality” in “Lies, Deep Fries & Statistics” (edited by Robyn Williams, ABC Books, Sydney, 2007): www.abc.net.au... ) and “Ongoing Palestinian Genocide” in “The Plight of the Palestinians (edited by William Cook, Palgrave Macmillan, London, 2010: mwcnews.net... ). He has just published a revised and updated 2008 version of his 1998 book “Jane Austen and the Black Hole of British History” (see: janeaustenand.blogspot.com... ) as biofuel-, globalization- and climate-driven global food price increases threaten a greater famine catastrophe than the man-made famine in British-ruled India that killed 6-7 million Indians in the “forgotten” World War 2 Bengal Famine (see recent BBC broadcast involving Dr Polya, Economics Nobel Laureate Professor Amartya Sen and others: www.open2.net... bengalfamine_programme.html ).

Contact La Trobe university. His papers are peer reviewed.
