Yeah, I've seen the Solar Tubes before, as my grandmother has them in her bathrooms and great room of her house. I just hadn't ever thought of doing something similar with a simple plastic bottle until after seeing this video.

Alright, I have to ask.

First of all, I have two pole barns, six sheds, and two well houses on my property.
How can it be "too bright" in your shed?

Is it now brighter inside your shed than it is outside of your shed?
Exactly what kind of ambiance are you looking for within a shed?

Its too bright outside as well and i like a little light but not to much especially in summer.
These lights work well andihavetriedadding foodcolouring to the water for different shades ,with some success.

Gotcha.
Regarding the hole in the roof, probably just fix it.

However, I suspect this same design could be rigged to be "side lighting" and provide a bit less light.

Or, use the existing hole, and wrap a bit of electrical tape around the bottle, which should reduce some of the light.
Just an idea.
