Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich became the target on Monday of a Federal Election Commission (FEC) complaint filed by the non-profit watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), which accused the Georgia Republican of illegally profiting off his campaign.

The complaint is based on a revelation by The Washington Post‘s Dan Eggen, who discovered that Gingrich had personally sold a mailing list to his campaign and profited to the tune of $47,005, then failed to report the transaction on a key FEC document. That’s count one, according to CREW.

That mailing list did not belong to Gingrich personally, CREW said. It instead belonged to Gingrich Productions, Inc., a private business that sells Gingrich’s books. Since he paid himself instead of Gingrich Productions, CREW alleged that a second count of using campaign money for personal expenses is called for as well. The treasurer who signed off on the deal is also accused of violating campaign finance laws.

More at story link:

It's over Newt. Just give it up. You cheated on all your wives, you're finding ways to defraud the taxpayer, and no doubt- you will find ways to push your grubby little agendas in Washington as President.

Well we're tired of grubby agendas. We're tired of the corruption, and we're tired of

People Like You

Just go away and let the only honest politician in Washington see if he can fix this mess for a

And that would be none other than your worst nightmare:
Ron Paul.

Technically he didn't defraud any tax payers but I'm happy non the less. Now if only Romney had these type of skeletons in his closet RP would be good to go.

Perry attacked and buried. Check!

Cain attacked and buried. Check!

Bachmann attacked and buried. Check!

Palin attacked and prevented from ever entering at all. Check!

And all this BEFORE a primary has happened or a caucus has occurred. Thank you SO MUCH, media and both parties, for deciding who I get to decide on before ANYONE even has the chance to make a choice.

This is how this will go then.... Everyone BUT Romney will be attacked from every direction with everything that even remotely smells decent for an attack until Romney is the Candidate by sheer default. THEN Obama will finally turn on Romney and put him down completely.

The anatomy of a political campaign run 100% on the destruction of others because personal merit simply doesn't exist.

Can someone wake me up next Nov? I feel this desperate desire to find a place to hibernate between now and then. This campaign will have us all wishing we'd never heard any of these names by then, I'm sure.

what really bothers me is when I hear the statement that someone is "not electable"

that means that there are protocols in place to prevent an outsider from ever gaining control.

the establishment has already chosen for us I believe. the next 5 years are probably already written out.

This post has made my day which was, till now, pretty crappy for having a post I put up removed by a super moderator for committing an infraction that I did not know I was committing. I wish that they had just let me know so I could have adjusted my post instead of immediately killing it.

Anyway. Now it seems as this will be down to Romney and Perry. When can we finally have the other dead weight step away from the podiums?

Wanna know something funny I found out?

When Newt Gingrich was Speaker, he kept a Tyrannosaurus Rex bones exhibit in his office to show off to everyone (on loan from the Smithsonian), and the word "Tyrannosaurus" means "Tyrannical Lizard". "Rex" means King. A Newt is a Lizard.

Tyrannical Lizard King?

One of many links confirming his T-rex set

Also I was trying to figure out what the etymology of "Gingrich" may possibly mean, and it was difficult to find any origins to the word "ging". So this is what I came up with.

Ginger etymology = after 5 or so steps back, we come to Skt. "srngam" meaning "Horn".
Rich = Ruler, Powerful

Therefore Gingrich may possibly mean "Horned Ruler", and Outkast Searcher in chat suggested "Horny Ruler".

Also an interesting possible derivation for "T-Rex" in the esoteric occult could be :
T = Tammuz an important figure in ancient Babylonia.

Recent discoveries reconfirm him as an annual life-death-rebirth deity

And Rex of course is King. So "King of rebirth". Or "Rebirth of the King".

Tammuz (calendar)

Sumerian: Dumuzid, "son of life"

celebrated his death and resurrection

The first day of the month of Tammuz was the day of the new moon of the summer solstice.

This is the Summer Solstice in "July" for Julius Caesar, opposite of the Winter Solstice, which was set on Dec 25th by Julius Caesar.

In 46 BCE, Julius Caesar in his Julian calendar established December 25 as the date of the winter solstice of Europe

So Tammuz is the god of life, death, and rebirth. Jesus's birth (Christmas), the Winter Solstice festival, celebrates the 'birth' of our modern figure who also represents being risen from the dead (which Equates to Easter which derives from "Ishtar").

"Ishtar", which is pronounced "Easter" was a day that commemorated the resurrection of one of their gods that they called "Tammuz", who was believed to be the only begotten son of the moon-goddess and the sun-god.

I am still digging into this one so if anyone has any corrections or additions please feel free too add or correct my post. Thanks.

This is kind of an aside, as I'm not a political scientist.

From what I understand, campaign funds are donated and used for campaigning. If one uses some of it for say paying bills not related to the campaign is that then illegal?

I just don't understand the laws in place (well I don't even know what they are).

Lets say that because you are campaigning, you aren't able to work. (leave alone the fact that most of them are rich enough to not have to work during this time). You still need food and other bills paid, is this illegal? Or is it a technical thing where a form needs to be used to say x amount went to food and mortgage (for example).

Can anyone clarify this (or more preferably, note the laws in place)?

Good stuff, but haven't you heard?

He is officially now the "Green Grinch", and he is an amphibian.

You know, one of those slimy things you find that crawl under rocks.

Also, "Newt" is short for Newton. What does Newton mean?

From a surname which was originally derived from a place name meaning "new town" in Old English.

His middle name is Leroy:

From the French nickname le roi meaning "the king".

Let's also not forget that Newt was born with the last name McPherson:

Anglicized form of Gaelic Mac an Phearsain ‘son of the parson’
(i.e., son of a clergy member)

Whoa nice, tyvm. I didn't know that was his original name. Another association with "king".

Grincheux means "grumpy" in French.

Edit to add more (going to piggy-back some additional connotations onto this post).

"Horned King" Could be interpreted as Zeus, who was often depicted with Horns. And he was the king of the gods, or god of the gods. The Caesar was considered the king of kings (emperor.) Also Jesus was referred to as the 'king of kings'.

Ok now check this out.

The earliest recorded form of Horus is the patron deity of Nekhen in Upper Egypt, who is the first known national god, specifically related to the king who in time came to be regarded as a manifestation of Horus in life and Osiris in death.

Zeus is often connected to Osiris (Horus). All of our eagle symbolism and "all seeing eye" symbolism derive from this.

The most commonly encountered family relationship describes Horus as the son of Isis and Osiris

Isis = Ishtar (fertility and motherhood).

Back to "Horus":

most notably being the god of the Sky

This reminds of of "Ba'al" who is often connected to the sky as well.

usually spelled Baal in English) is a Northwest Semitic title and honorific meaning "master" or "lord"[1]

"Baʿal" can refer to any god and even to human officials; in some texts it is used as a substitute for Hadad, a god of the rain, thunder, fertility and agriculture, and the lord of Heaven.

Nevertheless, few if any Biblical uses of "Baʿal" refer to Hadad, the lord over the assembly of gods on the holy mount of Heaven, but rather refer to any number of local spirit-deities worshipped as cult images, each called baʿal and regarded in the Hebrew Bible in that context as a false god.

So here we have another connotation with "God of Thunder" , who is also referred to as a "False God" through the Hebrew Bible.

Back to "Osiris":

Osiris is at times considered the oldest son of the Earth god Geb,[1] and the sky goddess Nut, as well as being brother and husband of Isis, with Horus being considered his posthumously begotten son.

And here is the kicker:

He is classically depicted as a green-skinned man

So now we are back to the Green Grinch!

Newt Gingrich!

So if this were to be found true, and this does seem to be spreading around the net, will he be disqualified as a candidate, or can he slither out of this somehow?

Muzzle, you say Gingrich had a T-Rex in his office, when people say he has skeletons in his closet, I didn't realize it was literally true.

Did you know Gingrich's anagram name is RICH 'N' GIG?
While Ron Paul's is OUR PLAN.

Back on topic! So... How far will this go, will the main stream media report it? Will be held accountable? A quick search on Google shows that many sites have mentioned this, but no actual news agencies yet, unsurprisingly.

eh...he's just of the slimey variety...

Sorry I couldn't resist. I am going to make that stuff into it's own thread here in a little bit.

I copied everything just in case a mod digs up the tyrannosaur and off-topics the posts.

It's somewhat on topic though since it is about Newt after all (and the massive skeleton in his closet).

Sorry about going on that tangent there. It was really fun though.

Not according to ABC news tonight.

Some random poll put Newt and Mitt at a dead tie 30/30% and RP at 15%.
And then the anchor went to continue with "Although Ron Paul is in the lead in Iowa, everyone has been at one time or another"

But doesn't that mean the general populace has gone through the GOP base and rejected the rest?
