There as of late has been a rash and a massive influx of Anti American sentiment on ATS by a few unnamed posters which is doing nothing positive nor constructive for anyone on this site as everyone comes here to debate the issues of the day and are intelligent, competent and proficient enough to be respectful to one another and know how to civilly conduct themselves but this new rise of Anti Americanism is not wanted nor is it needed here!

You might be confusing "anti-Americanism" with valid criticism regarding politics and how the economy is handled.

Baseless accusations are of course silly, but a lot of the posts I read voice valid concerns and complaints...

our media and policy makers have made the whole country look bad. If someone comes to hate on America i can't really blame them. I can only imagine what the rest of the world thinks when they see advertisement for our tv programs (jersey shore for example) and then observes how we're murdering millions of innocent people every year..they wouldn't be out of line to voice some hate.

It's beyond that and has now become a case of oneupmanship. I am not misconstruction on anything. There is a rise of Anti Americanism that if it's not handled fast will bring unwarranted attention to ATS by The US Federal Govt. If it was just that there wouldn't be people attacking one another because they aren't getting the answer they are demanding and resort to character assassination, personal attacks, underhanded swipes and little kid games!

Dont speak bad about us or we'll imprison you as a terrorist? Glad im not living in america.

Maybe it is fueled by the arrogance of some of the more right wing Americans on here and in control of the US.

It is narrow minded to be anti US, but to be anti US government is one of the most rational views you could possibly hold.

I think you have lost sight of the First amendment perhaps? While people may not always agree with what others say, they have the right to say it and there just aint a darn thing you can do about that, sorry. I hate to be snooty, but you lost my respect as soon as you tried to take that right away from anyone.

Thats like saying you dont think anybody that disagrees with you on anything should not be allowed to post here

Isn't that the whole point of sites like this, to be able to voice an opinion that contrasts, and is critical of, the US government, or any other government for that matter?

Are you saying we should all just suck it up, keep quiet and bite our tongues so we don't piss off the big bad government?

And what do you define as anti Americanism? I have a feeling that criticism of government or politics would be included in your definition.

As an American I support their right to post their opinions ATS.
No matter how I disagree with those statements.

The 1st Amendment unfortunately has no bearing on a website as a sites Terms and Conditions trumps that as this is a privately held and operated entity and has the right to set rules the way it wants to.

15a) Offensive Content: You will not Post forum posts, private messages, PODcasts, blog entries, videos, images, and other supported content, links to images or use avatars and/or signatures that are unlawful, harassing, libelous, privacy invading, abusive, threatening, harmful, hateful, vulgar, obscene, and/or disruptive. You will not use text, images, avatars or link to images or domains that contain gore, mutilation, pornography or illegal content. Doing so will result in removal of your Post(s) and immediate termination of your account.

15f.) Relevant Content: You will not Post messages that are clearly outside of the stated topic of any forums or disrupt a forum by deliberately posting repeated irrelevant messages or copies of identical messages (also known as "flooding").

15g.) Political Baiting: You will not engage in politically-charged rhetoric, politically-inspired name-calling, and related right-versus-left political bickering while Posting in any topical forum or discussion thread on the Websites. You will not alter political candidate names or party affiliations in order to insult or deride the opposition.

16) Behavior: You will not behave in an abusive, libelous, defamatory, hateful, intolerant, bigoted and/or racist manner, and will not harass, threaten, nor attack anyone.

16d.) Forum Gangs: You will not engaged in an organized collaboration with other members to disrupt thread topics or interrupt the flow of normal collaborative discussion. Doing so will result in removal of your Post(s) and immediate termination of your account.

I feel like there should be specific examples for this... but if its cuz someone doesn't agree that doesn't make them a "hater or a troll" that is them practicing their 1st amendment rights... if someone outside of the US is criticizing us... well eff them, they probably have censored internet anyways ;-p

Its basically a Thread to voice his temper tantrum for more people not agreeing with him.
Nothing more, nothing less.

Forgot to mention:

You have to differentiate between criticizing a country's politics and criticizing its people. The latter would make you a racist/bigot. The former clearly doesn't.

For example, I believe the Israeli government are a bunch of crooks. I couldn't disagree more with their stupid settler policies. But that DOESN'T mean I hate Israelis. The same goes for the US. I want to puke when I read about how the economy was systematically destroyed over 30 years by short term greed and corruption, and I strongly disagree with all those wars...hell, I can genuinely say I probably wouldn't stop if I saw Cheney cross the road. But that doesn't mean I hate Americans (quite on the contrary tbh).

Would be nice if you could post some examples of posts you think are anti-American.

The whole time that I've been coming here, there has been a blame the USA first crowd.
Many times, those people stretch my patience.

The US has done many things wrong but they also do many things right.

What county is always one of the first to offer aid when there has been a natural disaster?

How many countries have the equivalent of the USA peace corp?

We contribute to Doctors without borders to work in third world countries. Are we seeing the same thing from all these other innocent countries?

If you saw a problem with The Israeli Govt and had an avenue to address it maturely you would be the adult and do just that and not see that as another chance to attack their Govt.
