The American soldier alleged to have leaked vast numbers of classified documents to Wikileaks was prone to tantrums and at one point struck a female superior, a court heard today. Captain Casey Fulton, an Army intelligence officer who worked in the same secure facility as 24-year-old Bradley Manning, described a violent outburst in May 2010 at their secure office or SCIF (Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facility).

Fulton said she ordered a derogatory report against Manning, who is charged with downloading hundreds of thousands of sensitive files from the military's classified network when he was a U.S. Army intelligence analyst in Iraq, and providing them to the anti-secrecy website.

The U.S. Army Captain began answering questions at a proceeding to determine whether there was sufficient evidence to court-martial Manning, who is accused of conducting the largest leak of classified documents in U.S. history. Read more:

Bradley Manning has begun trial and it is already starting out on the wrong foot,as if things could not get any worse.it would seem,if we are to believe everything we are told and hear that is.

He is being accused of assaulting a fellow soldier and it has been revealed that his "emotional" state was known to of been unstable before the leaks.

Detained: Bradley Manning is escorted from the courthouse in Maryland today

master sergeant Adkins who was charge of security at the facility where Manning worked was excused from testifying invoking his right against self-incrimination.Manning's lawyer argued that he was not under criminal investigation but was not granted immunity.

Another possible witness was excused on the same grounds of 'self incrimination' had this to say -
Fulton earlier said that Manning was also considered to have an especially high understanding of enemy threats in Iraq and had to be trusted to keep the material he saw private.

She testified for the prosecution that Manning had a 'top secret' security clearance, enabling him to view a wide range of classified material. None of the material posted on Wiki-leaks was classified higher than 'secret'.

Escort: Army Pfc Bradley Manning, right, is taken into a courthouse at Fort Meade, Maryland today for a military hearing that will determine if he should face court-martial

I wish Manning would of been able to get a hold of 'Top Secret' Intel...Maybe disclose some really interesting/controversial Intel...We never did get any of those supposed UFO documents Assange alluded to.

Regardless of what he is accused of I hope the guy the best of luck,he is going to need it.

The rest of the article has a good bit of info regarding the case and his trial.

Let me know what you guys & gals think, look forward to hear from you.

ETA: Here is a site with live update feeds from the trial and some additional info.

sad part is I cannot even say it has been worth it,nothing has really changed and when this is all said and done,Manning is going to be looked at as nothing but a traitor to the U.S.,if he does die by execution than a martyr to some.

I know there wouldn't of been anything really of value with manning only having 'top secret' clearance,I was being half sarcastic, half wishful thinking because I am an avid UFO/"alien" researcher and the subject interests me.

It would be great to get the rest of what he did have access to and that he was unable to get leaked for whatever reason.

He did say some of the cables had UFO's being mentioned although with a wee bit of cynicism

“Many weirdos email us about UFOs or how they discovered that they were the anti-christ whilst talking with their ex-wife at a garden party over a pot-plant,” he wrote when asked if any of the documents he had received referred to extraterrestrial life. “However, as yet they have not satisfied two of our publishing rules. 1) that the documents not be self-authored; 2) that they be original."

In a live Q&A session with The Guardian, Assange explained WikiLeaks is frequently inundated with 'weirdos' claiming they have discovered UFOs, but added it has been found officials have also been discussing the issue.

No matter how one answers that, fact is Manning was a weak little urchin both psychologically and physically. He released those cables because he had a grudge against the majority of the military who are against homosexuality and the fact that he received a bit of bullying from his superiors and could'nt hack it. Fact is, the Military should take some responsbility for allowing such an idiot in to the military in the first place. Makes me wonder how many more of these "Mannings" are lurking in the military.....

I serve in the American military. First off, anybody who signs up for their country's military for purposes of defense and their liberty shows me that they are cut from a better material. Second, have you ever served in a military? I have blown whistles in the past and I do speak my mind to my superiors respectfully. I perform my duties with integrity and do not accept less to happen. I can tell you right now, I will not advance past my current rank. It took me 5 years to get to E-5 and I can honestly say that it will be hard for me to advance due to the fact that I am not a "yes man". Do you even realize what kind of bullying they can do? They can take away any bit of happiness you have. You want to take leave to see your family? Denied! A family member died and you have a red cross message? Denied! Oh, you're the only assigned to this watch for the past 72 hours and haven't had sleep or chow? Too bad wuss. Oh, you have double the workload of your co-workers and you aren't completing it on time? You're a #bag. 2 minutes late? Let's take away a rank. Trust me, I have seen this # happen in the military so unless you have the absolute full story on how he was treated, do not make assumptions.
What would you do if you found out that a neighbor of yours was doing some pretty horrible things to some fellow human beings? Would you keep it a secret? Or would you tell someone? And I can guarantee you that the military does not take kindly to having to investigate its own activities in fear of the bad publicity. Assange is basically a facilitator of information, close to being a journalist would give you documents and lets you form your own opinion. Do I agree with what he has done? I am not sure, I do not know the extent of the information that was put out there. As an American citizen, I would like to know when the American military commits atrocious crimes against another human being. I for one do not stand for that.
Do you honestly think most of the military hates homosexuals? Obviously you do not know us very well. I accept any as a brother or sister as long as they do their job, work hard, and actively helps the team accomplish its task safely and correctly. When I have stayed up 72 hours straight for my watches and maintenance, I can tell you right now, I don't give a # if the person relieving me is black, white, gay, straight, muslim, christian, abstinate, slutty, smart, dumb, weak, strong etc etc etc. Its truly not something the majority of us care about. The only thing that matters is that you don't # over the rest of the team and have respect for those on your team.
Its not the Mannings you should be worried about. Have you not seen some of the videos coming out of that region? Children slaughtered, families destroyed, and lives decimated. I'll admit, when I see a child's face blown off or severely disabled by war, especially by us, I get a bit misty eyed. Am I weak for that?
You should be worried the leaders, the bankers, and CEO's of the world profiting off of all of this war.

The day the tears stop flowing for all the wrong-doing, violence, and chaos that is happening in this world right now is the day humanity has ended.
