Syria Signs Deal Allowing Observers

Syria has signed an Arab League plan to allow observers into the country to verify whether the government is honoring its pledge to stop security forces from attacking anti-government protesters.

The signing Monday in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, follows nine months of violence that the United Nations estimates has killed at least 5,000 people.

Also Monday, China said it supports a new draft U.N. Security Council resolution condemning the violence in Syria.

Good.
Hopefully this stops the killings.

Yeah, great, another check and balance to keep us from taking over the world is now gone. Hopefully there is still more out there than Russia and China to keep us from taking over the world and forcing our "democracy" on every last soul on Earth... Actually, I shouldn't be too snide with this point, as Kimmy Junior may want to try forcing his ideology on us...
I wonder how we will feel about that?

What are the observers going to see? Security forces standing around with their fingers crossed behind their back whistling away until the observers turn their back and leave...

Condemning the violence is one thing, who on Earth wouldn't? Let's see if China supports a future council resolution to remove the current regime and install a democracy... heheheh, I wouldn't bet on it...
