I appreciate Google is fully operational, but I can't seem to find a decent antique / vintage collectible forum, so I thought I'd ask here if anyone knew anything about such things? The reason I ask is that I have bought some stuff cheap (a pair of really old ice skates with CCM engraved in them and some old records) and am looking to buy more but have a hunch some may be worth more than I bought them for.

I just wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction online to help me with, or if anyone knows here, because I haven't the foggiest.

Simple put into Google the objerct that you wish to research and go through the dirty work of checking out the results.

What do you think this is Goole Dux?

Another great way to find value of antiques is to search for the exact item on ebay and see what others are selling for.

Take an average and also look at the sellers. Many times these are dealers and have links to their sites where you can find more of the same items as well as links to other sites in the same game.

Peace

I am a retired antique dealer of 30 plus years.
Checking Ebay would be the easiest way or
check the collectible books at the library.
I assume your records are LP's. Most are
not worth much unless they are in mint
condition and the artist is desirable for
collectors such as the Beatles.

treasurenet.com has a great forum and a section for collectibles and a "what is this" section.

Greetings:

So nice to find an expert in our midst!

How about a freebie? These may not be the Beatles, but...

How about these? Are these worth anything?

One Hundred Years of Great Artists at the Met: The Gatti-Casazza Years I: 1908-1921. MET 402. 1985

One Hundred Years of Great Artists at the Met: The Gatti-Casazza Years II. 1921-1935. MET 403. 1985

One Hundred Years of Great Artists at the Met: The Johnson Years 1935-1950. MET 404. 1985

One Hundred Years of Great Artists at the Met: The Bing Years I: 1950-1961. MET 405. 1985

One Hundred Years of Great Artists at the Met: The Bing Years II: 1961-1972. MET 406. 1985

One Hundred Years of Great Artists at the Met: Completing The Century 1972-1983. MET 407. 1985

The full set is in original, sealed plastic covers. Never opened, never played.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

How about an ATS version of American Pickers?

E-bay has taken the value of antiques down, I would hold onto them and wait until internet is gone, which is not that far off or spread it out by owrd of mouth and maybe find an interested person.
how old are the records? what is on the records?

Nice that they have never been played.
I can't quote a price for these but being
they are from the 1980's most likely
not worth much to a lot of people but
for the right person that likes this type
of music and collects albums they
might pay a little bit. The trick is in
finding that right person.

Not trying to bust bubbles or anything
just telling it as I see it.

I found in selling albums that the
rocks groups from the 60,s, and
70's sell the best. They do have
to be in good condition and in
limited supply.

Thanks for the help guys. The reason I asked was because I couldn't even identify a lot of the items I have. Thanks for the info I'll go through it all.

I used to make some money out of buying vintage clothes and things and then selling them on ebay. It's one of those things where you just have to read as much as you possibly can about the particular area you are interested in.

Things like the colour of a label or other such minutia can make the difference between your item being worth £10 or £1000 and you have to know it while your there in the shop with the thing in front of you. Or of course be able to google it on a phone

You should be able to find a book that lists prices of old vinyl in most book shops

Greetings:

Thanks very much for your time and consideration.

We will look for the appropriate charity or organization that will appreciate this collection, as there is much more to it and we will donate to the right one.

In Peace, Love & Light
