I'm seriously questioning everything. I may only be a lowly mailroom clerk but I do have a basic understanding of spelling, grammar and how to craft a few lines of prose. I also know that if I issue a challenge, say the clinical significance of "ecchordosis physalifera" that I will make sure that I spell it correctly.

I would expect more attention to detail, and a greater command of the English language from a medical doctor; I would imagine patients would expect it as well.

Shalom.

I think you missed a comma in your line of prose.
"...basic understanding of spelling, grammar, and how to craft a few lines of prose."
I'm an ex-lit major and I still can't type or spell well, that doesn't invalidate my opinions. It's an interesting psychology though hardly a valid criticism of another's post here.

It's kind of pointless to debate rather or not the bill is real really, we all know a tylenol doesn't cost six dollars, and we all know how completely out of touch with reality the American Health Care INDUSTRY has gotten.
Not so long ago, your doctor was a doctor, not a specialist. He took care of the community rather than punching a clock, and instead of raping your financial well being with overpriced and highly specialized 'services', you could pay the man with chickens or whatever you could afford. Ah but now we have progress, we've come so far haven't we?

Gamma globulin injections can help boost a patient's immune system temporarily, so they are sometimes administered after a patient has been exposed to a contagious illness, though this practice is less common than it once was. This type of gamma globulin injection was formerly common for measles and hepatitis A, but vaccines currently exist for both conditions. Gamma globulin injections may also be given to patients who do not produce enough antibodies on their own as the result of a genetic disorder or an acquired condition"

You should seriously think again TC,

It's other people's blood, and I cringe at the idea. I'm not sparkly enough to want it.
Getting back to the subject at hand, the cost of it is ridiculous. I understand I pay insurance for exactly that sort of thing, but to take money from other people's pockets bothered me as much as the blood idea.
That would be a double mooch.

I feel for you.................no one should have to go through that.

Hopefully you did not loose your home.

Everyone should have the right to good free medical care...............lord knows we spend enough on the military.

Hey but people don't mind spending money on weapons of mass destruction but quibble over spending money over giving our teachers, child care workers and medical coverage to it's citizens.

Our Senators and Congress enjoy top notch medical and retirement coverage....................who works for who????

Most Americans are simply apathetic until a medical issue hits them and they loose their home all the while we gladly fork over more and more money to fund mass murder and invading of other countries for the oil men and bankers.

Possibly the reason the bill was so high was because the person had no insurance. They may be expecting them to default and they can claim it as a tax loss or file a huge bill to the govt to be reimbursed. These guys are thinking profitprofitprofit every waking minute.

of course. hospitals and corporations only help you if your helping them more in the long run.

OMG, that had to be one major surgery to be that high of a bill.

I won't be going to the hospital anytime soon.

Not after seeing that bill.

Not really...it's like $3,000 just to breathe their oxygen.

more people in power abusing said power.

With great power comes great responsibility. Our leaders no longer care about being responsible for their actions.
