Small observation from watching the video posted of the "triangle", which shows the 3 lights moving in perfect triangular formation, but the stars in the background appear between the lights as it moves across the sky. So, it's not a solid object, rather 3 separate light sources in formation.

Glad you posted and included the time and location. Maybe it would be a good thing to say what part of Manchester you viewed it from as well.
Hi , sorry .
I am in the Irlam part of Manchester . It came from the Oldham direction and flew towards the Warrington area .
I'm sorry I can't even supply an aproximate scale of the sighting
RAF Menwith Hill is a Royal Air Force station near Harrogate, North Yorkshire which provides communications and intelligence support services to the United Kingdom and the United States of America. The site contains an extensive satellite ground station and is a communications intercept and missile warning site and has been described as the largest electronic monitoring station in the world.

These triangle craft must be flying out of somewhere in the UK . Strange how nobody has ever viewed one in the daytime .
A huge shuttle type spaceplane was sighted over Ireland on April 27th, 2004 by Miles Johnston, a Dublin Tower Rigger at 8:30pm.
It was traveling west to east and took 8 seconds to travel from directly overhead to where it disappeared in the evening sky above greater Belfast, Ireland.
Miles wrote me about a month later and enclosed this drawing and map.
I recently wrote to Miles and asked permission to post this information on ATS and he said by all means. He also said it was ok to give his name.
The only comment I have other than there is no doubt in my mind that this is a space shuttle operated by the U.S. is that it may be constructed out of the new ceramic materials that we have been hearing about. And when I say ‘new’ ceramic materials, they are about 20 years old and can withstand extremely high temperatures. Also, it was probably landing at Macrahanish (about 60 miles north of this sighting.)
Here is Miles drawing.(see above) (It was in pencil so I darkened the lines with a black felt tip pen.) Below [is] his letter and below that the map.
Another legend involves the Space Shuttle, with claims that the runway is certified to accept the Shuttle should it be obliged to land in Europe, which also requires facilities for the Shuttle/Boeing 747 lifter to recover the craft. Unfortunately, there do not appear to be any documentary references cited to support this claim, although there is evidence that NASA has selected Shannon as an emergency landing airfield for the Shuttle, together with RAF Fairford.

That thing was huge.
It's amazing that more people didn't see it. I suppose most people simply don't look up anymore.
Hill AFB, Utah 1985 During war games at Hill AFB, Utah, I was standing out on the flightline, guarding the perimeter, the entry-access control point. The rest of the base was in black out conditions, with black plastic over the windows of the buildings. All of the sudden, an aircraft or an airship was above me, of unknown origin. It was the biggest aircraft I have ever seen, completely silent and moved approximately ten miles an hour, almost floating. It was triangular, no visible engines, no markings, gun metal black. It essentially looked like it could fly in space. And when it accelerated, it leaped frog; that it is to say, it blinked out and reappeared farther away. It basically disappeared when it accelerated. I was walking down the street mid week of last week, and saw a bright golden bolt shoot across the sky , almost so fast as to leave one with the impression that one was suffering an artifact of madness or hallucination, and had I been indoors , I would have missed it entirely. I am still not sure what it was, although I would have thought it was some sort of space debris kissing the edge of the atmosphere at extreme pace, before hurtling off into the cosmos.

I think you may have seen the Taranis UAV out of Warton. It's being tested at the moment.
Very nice piece of kit. Looks just like the one the Iranians have got LOL!
