Uh Oh! Your Kindle Porn Machine Doesn't Work. Better Send It Back!

I noticed something today on Yahoo that made my hair stand on end. I wanted to share it here with you because I am interested in what others think.

I understand there is some backlash against the Kindle Fire. The story is all over the web and the list of complaints seems to be headed up by complaints of poor touch screen interface quality and buttons that are too exposed to being depressed on accident. But then I read this…

“There is no privacy on the device; a spouse or child who picks it up will instantly know everything you have been doing. The touch screen is frequently hesitant and sometimes downright balky.”

And then at the end of the article I find this.

“No more will wives wonder why their husbands were looking at a dating site when they said they were playing Angry Birds.”

There is also a complaint about download speeds being intolerably slow. Hmmmm.

So we know what is going on here. Amazon shipped an inferior porn machine that hubbies can be too easily caught on and with and so they are sending them back in droves.

This, to me , is so damned discouraging.

So am I to understand this correctly; at the same time that Google is trying to eradicate anonymity by insisting that you use your real name, the main concern for people with these tablets is maintaining their sneaky secret anonymity so as to protect them from spousal retribution and possibly divorce and dissolution of the family?

Have I got that right?

If we allow this to happen to us we will be institutionalizing the largest public health threat that we have been confronted with in forever and it is slipping right passed us.

I will say it simply; as long as men and women are at each other’s throats we will accomplish none of the high falootin’ crap that has ever been suggested on ATS. The hiding and secrecy insures that we remain at each other’s throats.

And furthermore; why are you looking at porn on your tablet? What’s wrong with you. We have been bequeathed with the mightiest tool ever to ride on our tool belts (Unix,computers and digital telephony) and guys just wanna look at porn with it.

Folks like that are the reason that we are getting Windows 8 (amongst other societal poisons) and you deserve it.

Well, for starters, if our damn country wasn't so hell bent on enforcing everyone else's morality on people, this would be a non-issue. I don't see anything wrong with looking at/watching porn. Am I going to screw the model in the pic or on the movie? No! If my wife were so insecure that my looking at a naked woman jeopardized my marriage, then I would not have married her.

It's time our morality police minded their own business. If people want to look at porn, then let them. If men/woman are that insecure or offended by it, they don't have to look at it. Of course they probably also need to take up residency on a couch for some serious therapy as well.

Yes, an attraction towards the erotic is natural and Erotic Love is the starting point we need to move towards love of God, the sages have always been clear on this.

But what we are seeing here is different. This porn and its accompanying anonymity are unlike anything ever seen before. It has been weaponized against us as a tool of division.

Not all men are effected this way by the deluge of weaponized smut. If you don't have an issue with this then be prepared to help your brothers and sisters that do.

When I hear that any brand new device is faulty by means of a hesitant touch screen and even at times completely useless touch screen, you should rest assured that I will be returning the device.

Slow download speeds? If it can be proved that it is the device and not the internet connection then you can definitely put me on a list of people that would return it.

As for the issue of porn, way to slip your morals into an issue. In the context of a device being mine and privacy being an issue, I would certainly be complaining. Whether or it is used for porn or not is of no concern of any person the individual device doesn't belong to, and certainly none of your concern.

I disagree with invasions of my privacy. I certainly hope you also disagree with invasions of your own privacy.

Please friend, why must you see the morality police here? Can we not just look at the facts and come to an agreement on whether or not this kind of weponized porn is Good or Bad. We have to be able to make these decisions. No one is going to call your morality or morals in to question on this thread.

No woman enjoys having their man express sexual feelings toward another woman. They adapt because they want to survive in relationships with us but if you have an honest conversation about it she will tell you that she would prefer all of your attention. Some women, but not very many, have porn and cyber sex addictions as well. It is not about morality it is about whether or not you are free to live your life without those things that make you sick and make your family sick.

If it were just porn I would leave it alone. But it isnt.
it is a weapon intentionally designed (by ourselves) to subjugate ourselves with because it would be more painful to get honest and be free together.

You can turn the redirect option off, This way it doesn't go through the Amazon servers.

As for the carousel thingy, at present you can't remove anything from that which does blow.

The option is in web, hit menu, then settings and scroll down to"Accelerate page loading" and uncheck that option.

That will not redirect your kindle to use the ec2 servers for "faster" page loads (on mine, the speed is not a noticeable difference).

In the menu you can delete data, cache and history. Also you can enable a password for entering the system.

Overall I do like it.

You can call it immoral (or bad, your choice... but a rose by any other name is still a rose) or you can accept that not everyone is going to fit your cookie cutter definition of normalcy.

I love my ATS siblings but sometimes I wish you would all read the damned OP. Yes, I am surmising that the real issue that people are having with the Kindle is that they can't get their porn fast enough and are unable to hide it effectively from their spouses. I think I was pretty clear about that.

I think that a person would have to be pretty obstinate to not realize that the primary use that many intended to put the Kindle to is as a Porn machine. I have 4 friends that have them (Nook and Kindle) and they are 4 for 4 all looking at porn with them

Of course they would. Although the systemic flaws and drawbacks of the mainstream porn industry are massive and obvious, it's not the whole story.

I have spent many hours watching and analyzing porn, with no intent to fap. Why? Because the independent stuff made by lovers lacking a profit motive is amazing. The variety (not novelty, mind you) of erotic expression to be found out there is staggering. I am awed and humbled when I reflect on the fact that no two people are the same, and most people are outstandingly singular in their buck-wild behavior.

Porn can be art, porn can be a celebration of love, porn can be a means to understanding each other.

Not that these are the common applications, and I believe you to be largely correct in your assertions re: addiction, neuroscience, etc.

With porn, as with most things, when applied toward commercialization and control, it gets ugly quick. It doesn't mean we should throw the Erotica out with the bathwater. Keep it honest, keep it open source, and keep it respectful.

Quite. The fact that people have talked themselves in to a place where they can't even have a discussion with the intent of agreeing on what is Good has got to be just the greatest shame of our existence. Yeah, and guess what pays the bills in therapy offices all across the nation when these 'Swingers' reach about 40. It is unsustainable.

The problem with your premise is that people have to adjust themselves to the lifestyle.
