Great stuff in there.

The Most Wasteful Pork of 2011

- $22.7 Million Building Renovation
- $12,500 A Sentence
- $253,000 Bugs
- $4.27 Million Franking Mails
- $500,000 Helicopter Logging
- $353 Million Solar Panel Loan
- $600,000 Gurgling Toad Sculpture
- $8.3 Million Golf Course
- $310.7 Million Misappropriated Benefits
- $1.4 Million Rocks
- $20,000 Bargaining Chip
- $2 Million HIV Refund
- $16 Muffins

And I could have added the Iraq war, the Afghan war, foreign aid to Pakistan and Israel, the F-35, US troops in Germany, US military bases in 130+ countries, representatives salaries, bank bailouts, etc... a lot of waste is in there.

And another one...
$666k federal funded study to see if distant prayer heal AIDS (it didn't)

All hail the government in their infinite wisdom.

Ha, very interesting article actually. I might suggest that you add a little 'blurb' near the beginning somewhere that will describe what exactly the article is talking about (in your own opinion even), you know a short synopsis that will lure readers in to clicking the main article or learning more about the topic discussed. That said, the source article is quite entertaining if not at least thought inspiring. Thanks for sharing the link, I was looking for a good chunk of time to kill,
.

ETA: I guess I didnt catch what the 'pork' reference was all about in relation to the rest the OP and source link.

Pork barrel spending, or the rush to grab as much government money as possible, has been a staple of Washington politics since even before the term was finally coined over a hundred years ago.
