Rev. Al Deep in the Red
www.nypost.com...
The Rev. Al Sharpton’s nonprofit paid him nearly $242,000 — even as it carried $1.6 million in debt, according to documents obtained by The
Post.
In all, the controversial activist and his empire, including the National Action Network and two for-profit companies, were $5.3 million in the red,
public records show.
Most of NAN’s money woes stemmed from more than $880,000 in unpaid federal payroll taxes, interest and penalties. It also paid more than $100,000 to
settle two lawsuits, byproducts of the unpaid bills.
And it still owed $206,252 in loans to Sharpton’s for-profit Bo-Spanky Consulting Inc. and Sharpton Media LLC, the records show.
Sharpton drew a $241,732 salary and perks that included first-class or charter air travel, tax filings show. He owes the IRS $2.6 million in income
tax, and nearly $900,000 in state tax.
Well, well, well… Looks like ol’ Reverend Al got caught with pie on his face, once again. I wonder if it was blueberry, this time as well?
Friends, can we
all please finally admit that corruption in politics has nothing to do with Republican/Democrat; Red State/Blue State;
Left/Right? It is about the political establishment. We allow these crooks to inculcate themselves into positions, which enable them to enrich
themselves, while exploiting those for whom they claim to advocate and “protect”.
I don’t care if it’s Sharpton or Tom Delay, we empower them and permit them to become so pervasive. I say we take away their power. Each and every
time one of these crooks is interviewed or placed on an “expert panel” on a news network, turn the channel and shoot the network an email telling
them you did and why. Whatever entertainment/news show or opinion/news show you watch, send them an email now and tell them you will turn the channel,
if you ever see them asking these crooks for their opinion.
If you are one who believes Sharpton and his organizations are not a part of the elitist establishment, consider the following statement from the same
article
This year, its board of directors voted to resolve the tax issues and paid all back state taxes, said Executive Director Tamika Mallory.
Do you get to “vote” on whether or not your employer is going to withhold taxes from your paycheck this week?
One other thing… Bo-Spanky Consulting, Inc.? Bo-Spanky? Really? Okay, I’ll leave that alone. But, really?
For those who are wondering about the blueberry pie comment, I beg you to watch and listen to this short clip.
