I believe it's because it's unworkable. Socialistic societies tend to eat themselves. Rather than raising the standard of living for everyone, they devolve to the lowest common denominator - they lower the standards to even out at the lowest previous standard.

There is a negative incentive to produce, and in order to combat that, the state institutes draconian measures aimed at improving production. Because the means of production are state-owned, it falls to the state to improve production, which in turn forces the state to institute draconian measures, which leads to a totalitarian society.

It is self-defeating, from the outset.

Paradoxically, perhaps, in their effort to eliminate "classes", they produce a more stark contrast between the classes. There is a "ruling class", and then there is everyone else, not unlike a feudal society.

Neither am I, although probably not in the same way you are absent from it. Traditionally, "left" is socialism, communism, marxism, etc, and "right" leans towards fascism, corporatism, etc. I see both of those as collectivist at heart, and leading to totalitarianism. Neither the "left" nor the "right" are advocating for liberty - they only advocate for different control measures.

"Different" control measures means the control measures are still there, whichever way you fly. The only difference in either side , relatively, is within that side. They are ALL collectivist and draconian.

I see no material difference between communism and fascism, and it amuses me how people will argue the "differences" between the two all day long. A totalitarian master is a totalitarian master to me, and it doesn't make any difference at all which sort is at the top of the heap - they will BOTH exert undue control over the populace, and BOTH claim they are "for the people" when in reality they are fleecing the people FOR themselves.

No, it's YOU against them, if you chose to limit your opposition to just them. I'm not in that "us", because I don't limit my opposition to just those. Totalitarians are totalitarians, and I care not what their bank account looks like, nor what "ism" they are promoting. The only "isms" that matter to me are individualism and totalitarianism, which are in opposition to one another. Totalitarianism covers both the traditional "left" and the traditional "right".

They are the same. Masters are masters, whatever other label one wants to apply to them.

That's true. OWS is no different, and has it's very own puppet masters. The goal of OWS is to use the proletariat to promote the agendas of those puppet masters over the agendas of the opposition puppet masters in the great game of chess being played out.

Then, they promptly get back to the business of eating the proletariat, same as the corporate puppet masters do.

The kid wasn't the only ones on the tracks as quite a few were on the tracks. This was done in order to severely shut down and impact the shipping lines as once those lines get disrupted the cutoff can begin.

This action was merely to bring light to how much of our goods we all rely on is made outside of The USA!

Everyone on those tracks was a COMPLETE idiot, especially that mother. Trains don't stop on a dime. I don't care what they were trying to say, people could have been killed. Little kid included.

Which is indicative of the bonds within this movement that says to the rest of the world that this movement is unbreakable hence the screws at the wrist area. To symbolize our undying and unwavering bond that this movement cannot and will not be broken. That;s why you noticed that one train that started on approach had to pull back. They knew before the train pulled out that there were people on the track and were ordered to drive up just to scare and when that didn't work the conductor had to stop the train hence the low speed.

There is absolutely no proof that woman put her child on the tracks. I saw the other thread, and commented there as well. If she did she's an idiot, but I don't think she did.

I saw the interview with the mom in question. She did not deny putting her child on the tracks. She only stated that she had faith in humanity and thought that the train would stop before hitting the people on the tracks. I guess we need a pic. of her kid on the tracks rather than her words.

I've never seen faith stop a loaded freight train on a dime while traveling at speed. In an emergency braking situation it can take over one mile to stop a train on a good day.

Watch it again, she never says she put her kid on the tracks, you never hear the interviewer asking her why or if she did this, you never see a child on the tracks. What we do hear is a voice over before cutting to the interview which could have been anyone, the person who put the video up perhaps. It could have happened, I don't dismiss it out of hand but honestly I think it's BS. I went to the the KWG site and the video isn't on there anywhere. Just my opinion.
