I admit that OWS is lacking direction and things are getting very slippery, but at the same time I would like for people to start posting something cohesive, y'know, something other than how filthy these people are and how they need to occupy a job. I've literally read those same two statements at least a thousand times this week alone. Not expanding and just leaving it at those two points sounds rather spiteful, and sort of does in the credibility of those calling out OWS. Seriously, just expand a little more.

Talk about the corruption, talk about the capitalism. You don't have to support OWS to be able to talk about the core issues (imo) that are brought up. Again, please don't say how it doesn't effect you and how you worked your way to get where you are. An individual's account doesn't account for every other person with their different traits, situations, etc. Type a detailed reply to the issues they bring up - start gaining credibility in your distaste towards OWS other than your raw opinion of what these people's lives are like even though you really have no right nor clue to state what their lives are actually like

Or to say they're filthy because you saw a segment on TV or heard a story or happened to see some protesters in your town, or wherever you found these generalizations, because that's exactly what they are.

My 25 cents - where's the gum ball machine?

In the end it really doesn't matter what people's personal opinions of OWS are.

Isn't it disconcerting that the authoritarian juices flow so easily in our society in present day? You don't like OWS or whatever movement? Good for you! That is your prerogative! Your instinct should then simply be: "I won't lend it my support".

But those authoritarian juices flow and many of the people who disagree with OWS feel that, in turn, it has no right to exist.

If you feel that way then you couldn't be more wrong. What good is freedom of speech if it means people can only repeat what everyone else is saying and no more? Movements like OWS have the CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to exist and express and picket and redress grievances and parade and assemble. This is the specific intent of the first amendment.

I personally feel that many of OWS's goals are misguided, but -Personal opinion doesn't a law make-.

how misguided you seem to be. guess what, if someone goes to work clocks in and can't do their work it's not the workers fault. the worker is not the one that loses money. your argument is invalid, only because you seem to not understand how a job works.

( inmy best scooby -doo") Errrooo?
Oh man that's"rich":

Ever been sent home from a job because orders were slow or there was no work??????????

That's how a job works!

if the "line" is down: you don't bring in 2nd and third shift(!!!) to man an idled factory.;You don't get paid unless you want to use up some vacation hours or file for state unemployment after 3 days.!!

Got a problem with OWS? Then go down to your local movement and drop some wisdom as to how they should go about this in a better way, or even better start your own means of changing the system. instead of babbling about how these people are idiots. I won't deny that some people may be misguided, unknowledgable, and slightly ignorant to the fact of how to invoke real change in this world, but again at least they got the balls to do something more than just moan and groan. something needs to be done and someone needed to stand up and bring it to awareness that SHTF in 2008 and if we don't change the direction of this country we will fall the way of rome

Don't you see we have been heading straight for a cliff for alot of years; Some politicians don't change course and"just put the pedal to the metal"(spending more to get out of debt):
A few take their foot off the accelerator and changed course slightly so we approach the cliff at a 70degree angle: Slower but still approaching

I take no joy in claiming the" die is cast":but This baby is going down faster than a drunken pornstar

Well after they tried to shut down a few metro subways preventing/delaying people who have jobs and WANT to work.

After they harassed people who decided to used their HARD EARNED MONEY to go Christmas shopping

And Today They are apparently getting people sent home from their JOBS, because the OWS people want to shut down the ports..

Nah, most mainstream Americans don't take these thugs seriously.

That's why the the whole "police brutality" thing is not catching on.. Many Americans are to the point in which we believe you thugs deserve getting your asses kicked.

And your "Working is Slavery" signs aren't getting you a lot of support either.

Well. I for one think something was accomplished. Although the whole thing ended up turning into a circus towrds the end.

The government realized that people are waking up to their BS, lies, "old boy club" cronyism, and blatant corruption.

More and more average tax paying citizens who generally would just go about their business are now fuming over how the govt is spending their hard earned money, and they have no say over it.

I believe people are finally realizing we need REAL CHANGE, not some Obama watered down corporatism which promises change and ends up being even worse than business as usual

Jeez the whole premise of conditional assembly mentality just goes to show how much people have invested in this crumbling infrastructure called "our society" and as much they will kick and scream about wanting change what they really want is minor cosmetic changes that do absolutely nothing.

Tired of Government? "Yeah lets vote out the incumbents, crooked fellows!" But lets not touch the system that provides a safe haven for corruption.

Tired of Environmental damage and eco-cide? Let me click on the yes box to some prewritten activist message and send it through email to corrupted congressmen that'll make a difference! Or let me choose to shop in Trader Joe's and buy organic, that will make the ultimate difference.

Give me a break. The system is broke has been broke for a long time, yet the same people calling for change are the ones that need to give up the luxeries (that were gotten by rape, pillage, and death) that they have grown accustomed to. Everyone wants to focus on cosmetic nonsense.

Taking away the rights of "other people's chance to use the park". LOL what a joke. The constitution is truly dead and not by the government or by the billionaires but rather by the lazy, self centered, and polarized public themselves.

The winter will hopefully give them time to develop CLEAR, DEFINED, LEGITIMATE GOALS, so the common man can rally with them, and stop listening to the MSM.

That should be their course of action.

The MSM will of course call the quieting of OWS activity as their "defeat", but they need to soldier on through that.

When you have the MSM spending that much time and energy to to blatantly and openly vilify these people practicing their Constitutional right, that is when you know you are on the right track. That is when you know the MSM serves the will of the traitorous, treasonous snakes pulling the strings at the highest echelons.

When you see your fellow American allowing their mind to be manipulated by the MSM, and vehemently spewing the garbage the MSM tells them to, consider them a lost cause, and move on.

No goals, no demands?

Then what is this?
-------------------------------------
The Declaration Of The General Assembly Of #OWS!

As we gather together in solidarity to express a feeling of mass injustice, we must not lose sight of what brought us together. We write so that all people who feel wronged by the corporate forces of the world can know that we are your allies.

As one people, united, we acknowledge the reality: that the future of the human race requires the cooperation of its members; that our system must protect our rights, and upon corruption of that system, it is up to the individuals to protect their own rights, and those of their neighbors; that a democratic government derives its just power from the people, but corporations do not seek consent to extract wealth from the people and the Earth; and that no true democracy is attainable when the process is determined by economic power. We come to you at a time when corporations, which place profit over people, self-interest over justice, and oppression over equality, run our governments. We have peaceably assembled here, as is our right, to let these facts be known.

They have taken our houses through an illegal foreclosure process, despite not having the original mortgage.
They have taken bailouts from taxpayers with impunity, and continue to give Executives exorbitant bonuses.
They have perpetuated inequality and discrimination in the workplace based on age, the color of one’s skin, sex, gender identity and sexual orientation.
They have poisoned the food supply through negligence, and undermined the farming system through monopolization.
They have profited off of the torture, confinement, and cruel treatment of countless animals, and actively hide these practices.
They have continuously sought to strip employees of the right to negotiate for better pay and safer working conditions.
They have held students hostage with tens of thousands of dollars of debt on education, which is itself a human right.
They have consistently outsourced labor and used that outsourcing as leverage to cut workers’ healthcare and pay.
They have influenced the courts to achieve the same rights as people, with none of the culpability or responsibility.
They have spent millions of dollars on legal teams that look for ways to get them out of contracts in regards to health insurance.
They have sold our privacy as a commodity.
They have used the military and police force to prevent freedom of the press.
They have deliberately declined to recall faulty products endangering lives in pursuit of profit.
They determine economic policy, despite the catastrophic failures their policies have produced and continue to produce.
They have donated large sums of money to politicians, who are responsible for regulating them.
They continue to block alternate forms of energy to keep us dependent on oil.
They continue to block generic forms of medicine that could save people’s lives or provide relief in order to protect investments that have already turned a substantial profit.
They have purposely covered up oil spills, accidents, faulty bookkeeping, and inactive ingredients in pursuit of profit.
They purposefully keep people misinformed and fearful through their control of the media.
They have accepted private contracts to murder prisoners even when presented with serious doubts about their guilt.
They have perpetuated colonialism at home and abroad.
They have participated in the torture and murder of innocent civilians overseas.
They continue to create weapons of mass destruction in order to receive government contracts.*

To the people of the world,

We, the New York City General Assembly occupying Wall Street in Liberty Square, urge you to assert your power.

Exercise your right to peaceably assemble; occupy public space; create a process to address the problems we face, and generate solutions accessible to everyone.

To all communities that take action and form groups in the spirit of direct democracy, we offer support, documentation, and all of the resources at our disposal.

Join us and make your voices heard!

*These grievances are not all-inclusive.

Adopted, voted on and passed September 29, 2011!

I agree. Take time off, bundle up, refine things a bit more. Occupy the radio, the television. Just to get the message out there more organized and fine-tuned without any of the clutter. The everyday man doesn't want to risk arrest, there are people whom won't join the movement now because their minds are made, but the core issues should be discussed and protested.

They have to be, really.

Pt. II

THE OFFICIAL STANCE OF THE #OOCUPYEVERYTHING - OCCUPY TOGETHER - #OCCUPYWALLSTREET MOVEMENTS AND ALL ASSOCIATED MARCHES & OCCUPATIONS THROUGHOUT THE PLANET CURRENTLY :

This group wants absolutely nothing to do with the corrupt 2 party oligarchy as both have been bought and paid by the banks, The Federal Reserve and Wall Street and does not need nor require money from 1%'rs and to say anything otherwise is a major dis service to this group and movement as a whole as we see people like Soros as being apart of the problem and does not endorse millionaires or billionaires. No corporate dollars are welcomed and if one were to attempt to finance this movement it would be rejected and returned with a note saying "No sale!"!

To believe anything else means you are being seriously deceived and tricked and said source should not be trusted or taken seriously and if it does not come from the aforementioned it is not to be taken as the official stance. No General Assembly in any group throughout the planet will amend this ever!

STRONG EMPHASIS UPON THE FOLLOWING AND CANNOT BE EXPRESSED ENOUGH :
Unless it comes from Occupy Together, Occupy Everything, #Occupy Wall Street, NYC General Assembly or any of the countless official "Occupy" family of sites it does not speak for this movement and the movement will not endorse any site outside of our family of sites. Adbusters does not speak for us, Tides does not speak for us, no union speaks for us, The American Socialist Party does not speak for us, The Communist Party does not speak for us, Nancy Pelosi, Obama, Biden, The Democratic National Committee, The Republican Nation Committee, The Tea Party, Libertarian movement or any other political party or figurehead does not speak for us and neither do they represent us! neither does any group that has decided to join us under their own free will and volition but even those groups and our partner firms do not speak for us! We speak for ourselves!

All are welcomed from all faiths, ethnic groups, political persuasions, LBGTI, animal and kid friendly as we will not discriminate, we will be friendly to all. Illicit narcotics (marijuana to meth while all scrips prescribed to a fellow protester are obviously allowed) and liquor (all forms) use are banned and will get someone expelled and turned over to law enforcement. Come as you are! Remember, there is no member of the 1% that is on this website which means we are all The 99%!

Neither this or the previous post is to be ignored or discredited as the first states what we want while this states who we are and who are allegiance is sworn to! To simply not read this or the previous post is not wanting real change to take place! Complacency is no excuse to sit around idly by and do nothing!

Y'all have been wanting a revolution and now one is underfoot do not stand against us, stand with us!

Domo.....I think you are sorely mistaken....OWS is just beginning....it will morph as the situations rise, but, this is a movement of millions of people.....all of us are not out marching, but, when push comes to shove...or election time rolls around.....you will see the masses rise....Just because MSM isn't following it...(they don't seem to notice Japan is having a China syndrome meltdown that will affect the entire planet, either)....that doesn't mean it isn't happening.....so, you speak way too soon.....and certainly on the wrong site.....don't you want to post this on foxnews or something?

Time off is out of the question then that'll give the naysayers the claim of "See, they failed!" We will not ever (not safe to use the phrase never in future tense) relent or give up. The PseudoPsychological warfare is working and we must remain firm. Nothing else matters but this.

Either be apart of this historical movement or get out of it's way as we are only seeking people that moves the agenda forward and not back and care not for obstructionists!

If you type like that. It's probably good that you don't march I would hate to your signs.
It will stay thousands. and yes it is only thousands, you guys are far far away from millions.sorry.

As long as you people continue to, take people observations and reject them, and insult other peoples opinion and what they saw, by calling them Fox Viewers, etc, you will not get much support. That's why your police brutality claims are failing, no Marines are coming, and regular people are coming out a cheering as you thugs are evicted from your parks, hell even the homeless are sick of you people.

You stating that all OWS protestors are "clueless, scummy and self entitled dirt bags" is far from true. Sure, some are there for the wrong reasons, but your smearing generalization of the whole movement is just wrong.

Except that I said :

Argue all you want but the average American seemed to feel the occupiers were clueless, scummy and self entitled dirt bags.

Which I still think is accurate. I don't believe, nor do I think to have claimed all OWS people are any of these things.

Feelings on OWS aside, it's obvious you're slandering their movement at any chance you get on this board.

I have different opinions than you obviously. Does that mean that I am 'slandering' anyone? I don't think so. I have stated a few times in this thread (including the OP) that I think the movement has done some good, just that I don't agree with their taking over public spaces for as long as they wish.
