Battleship movie trailer

Just kidding! But it does really look good! The movie is based on the board game Battleship. Just kidding again, .... Just watch the trailer.

So what do you guys think? Looks really similar to Transformers. Rihanna + Liam Neeson!

It is a movie called Battleship. Going by the description I would guess it has little to do with the game itself.

A fleet of ships is forced to do battle with an armada of unknown origins in order to discover and thwart their destructive goals.

I watched it two days ago and it said it was based off of the game.

I watched it two days ago and it said it was based off of the game.

I don't remember alien ships being in the game.

There aren't, that's why I was confused when all that # made an appearance. But, it mentioned something like, "From the makers of Hasbro..."

Nah, Hasbro didn't make it, Milton Bradley did. It's just a movie that happens to have the same name as the game, I guess.

I would watch this, good visual effects.

I saw the movie yesterday and its entertaining with lots of hilarious parts. Its about aliens tracing signals ( sent by NASA to their planet ) and coming to earth. US navy having naval exercise asked to go investigate. Thats all I will disclose...go see the movie...its good.

The is film did have elements of the game in it.

At one point in the film they had no radar and they were trying to hit some alien ships in the water with missiles. So they decided to tap into a large network of tsunami buoys to track the movements of the ships. As they could only tell where the ships were for a few seconds they were trying to guess where in the grid the ships would move to next so they could target the missile. So they guessed the grid position (E4 , D6 etc), sent the missile and waited to see if they got a hit..exactly like the board game.

I thought it was quite a cool way to tie game.

But overall i was a bit disappointed as i was expecting something like independence day on water. It was good but not not that good. Transformers had better FX. They had huge ships bouncing about in water but there only seemed to be small amounts of water displacement each time which was unrealistic.

This to me looks like a cutting from one of the transformer movies.

Like they have extended a scene into an entire movie. Even using practically the same sound effects.

Sorry after Transformers 3 I have no trust in Bay, the studio or this.
