Just because Stephen said it so must have merit? I think he's apart of the propaganda machine, get people afraid of the images from a couple decades of alien movies? It can't be said too often that a certain agenda was hinted in the 80s with Reagan, then in the 90s with George Bush, Sr , not to mention supposedly Project Blue Beam, an alien attack would unite the world, hmm I just can't get onboard with the "aliens are coming" stuff. Now what was gained by Mister Hawkins saying, "Earth could be at a risk of an invasion by aliens living in massive ships"? Nothing but fear which I'm inclined to think was the purpose.

I totally agree. What better tool to use than Stephen Hawking....the smartest man on the planet? Still, the public at large is so brainwashed by the government into thinking UFO's and aliens are talk of lunatics, that many people still don't pay attention, even though it's Hawking saying it.

i won't get into anything else about your post, because i'm not into all that stuff. i keep an open mind, but back to hawking haha. do you know anything about hawking radiation? i mean the man came up with all kinds of stuff regarding black holes. he has been pushing the ideas of quantum gravity, which most scientists completely dismissed until hawking came up with his theories, though not all that is proven, but a lot more made sense. though, i will say his biggest stuff is in the black hole department, we would not know a fraction of what we do without him. which as for your idea, yes he did use some peoples starting points with their theories, but he took the ideas to a whole new level, his mathematics are light years ahead of pretty much any other scientist in the field.

put 73628 and 73628 together

And how much of that stuff did "he" come up with before he lost his ability to speak in a manner that the rest of us can prove it is him speaking?

He was making a statement on his observations of the universe, and it happened to be "this could be a problem for humanity". Not "Get ur gunz, the aliens are comin today!". Lighten up, this is no more a fearmongering statement than me saying that "you could be killed in a fatal car accident".

Would you publish an article saying that "you could be killed in a fatal car accident"? Of course not. That would be stating the obvious. That's why people are upset about this. Yeah, aliens may come to earth and eat us. Great, but why state the obvious unless the intention is fear? I think people are sick of the fear agenda from our government and the media. There is only so much people can digest. How about scaring us once a week instead of every day?

not much, like most people especially in the scientific fields, none of them come up with any ideas until they get into the field after college. though, at the time he wasn't anything amazing when he got hit by the disease, which makes me wonder if they ideas aren't his own, why waste time making the spokesperson? at the time when hawking was coming up with ideas they were very much criticized and a lot of people thought his ideas were crazy. so, again, why would they waste time with a nobody back then? if others were coming up with the equations and ideas he did, why not put it in a more respectable source that everyone could flock to? unless cambridge is also home to the most psychics, then i see no way of anyone thinking hawking would become the figure he is today in the scientific fields.

however, by all means i'm sure none of these rational arguments will sway your mind, so i would totally pay for you trip to personally meet mr. hawking and see for yourself that it is him and him alone doing the talking. i do hope with all your arguments, that you do now how voice synthesizers and similar devices work to give people with total disabilities like him the ability to speak.

I honestly would bet my life there are aliens. I think that there are aliens out there so far advanced compared to us that thaye wouldnt even bother with us. Thae probably have found thousands of planets with life and actually catagorize them. we are the planet with a bunch of separate cultures of the samr race fighting., we are barbaric. we destroy our planet kill each other and most of honestly believe in a creator. well i think we have a lot of evolving to do before we realize how primitive we really are. we as a planet need a catastrophic event to push us together. and stop thinking about nonsens. i dunno stephan hawking is probably right but i would assume a race of aliens advanced enough to travel space fast enough would not bother destroying us. by the time they get to that level planetary resources will be not a high commodity. super solar panels and even gravity devices using free energy will be the future. unlimited energy . i dont think they would come for our resources. maybe just a place to sleep.

Hawking’s over-quoted ‘fear the conquering aliens’ is laced with circular logic that contradicts his own hypotheses about god and universe.

Native Americans of Hispaniola were not willing to convert to Christianity. That’s why things went south with the Spaniards (incl. Columbus).

To imply that ETs are going to try to convert us to Scientology (or some alien religion) with insubordinates destined for reservations, alcoholism, & casinos, is ludicrous; to say the least!

Of course, we all ‘know’ that advanced life doesn’t believe in god, so that couldn’t be what he really meant, right? He probably means they’ll just conquer us for no reason (like the Klingons), because even non-religious zealots are warmongers right? I mean, what are the odds that every human conflict has been ideologically precipitated & fits w/in the context of religion?

I guess we won’t know until after we’ve been ‘seized’, but if we’re not, your “one of a lifetime brilliant man” will probably wait 30-yrs. to recant:
www.newscientist.com...

…but that’s just how all intelligent narcissistic warmongering species roll, right Professor Stephen? Btw, did someone say tool?

Poor Stephen, i hope he doesn't read ATS or his feeling may be hurt, while he wonders what to do with the millions he's made from his ideas. I still don't get what the fuss is about - it's a premise for a brief bit of TV on the Discovery Channel. Attacking aliens makes for better TV than pacifist aliens.

He is just like many others who people look up to as an idol for information, and he is just preparing the masses for some type of invasion. Possibly by the secret government aka Global Elite to put their plans into action. I wouldnt really listen to the guy personally since he is a nut and thinks that humans have no souls or feelings but we are just random molecules of chemicals that give us the illusion of love, hate, jealousy, dreaming etc.

Why do people pout? Over a mainstream scientist/physicist.. Why is he held in such high regard? Hawking is so brilliant yet ones like Tesla are forgotten. Most are idiots, if it cannot be explained, than it is swamp gas. Any idiot can do math, billions of galaxies x the # of planets = a strong possibility of life. Duh?

Meh, it was just an idea. That's what these forums are for, to toss out ideas. I don't have to agree with you and you don't have to agree with me. Adults can respect opposing points of view.

Yeah, I know voice synthesizers work for people with disabilities. I'm not saying they don't.

Peace.

It's true,

Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me and talked with me, saying, “Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem,

descending out of heaven from God

The dimensions

the length, height and width are equal,

Rev.
21:16 The city lies foursquare, and its length is as great as its breadth. He measured the city with the reed, Twelve thousand twelve stadia. Its length, breadth, and height are equal.

21:17 Its wall is one hundred forty-four cubits, by the measure of a man, that is, of an angel.

He measured the city with the reed: The size of the New Jerusalem is enormous; twelve thousand furlongs equals 1,500 miles. This is the same distance from Maine to Florida; the square footage would approximate the size of the Moon,

Right angels are enormous.

Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”

I don't know who Hawking's is communing with but, there is nothing new under the sun.

thank you for the video.
Yes D channel Hawking makes a good point.

Actually the extraterrestrials are already here on Earth since ww2 or even before that. And are not only 1 group or civilization.

Has Stephen Hawking's nurse got his dvd player and making him watch Battlefield Earth over and over again?
Just wondering.

Earth has many enemies out there, entities from another place other than our solar system is the least of our worries.
Just wait until the next gamma-ray burst grazes us and it is game over for the planet.
Or when or solar system pops up above or below the galactic plane of our beloved galaxy that protects us from the cosmic rays.
At least we will have a fighting chance against an alien race.

Anyone watch Cowboy's vs Aliens?
It was awesome.
Sorry to interrupt the conversation, carry on.
