The Hunger Games books, sort of ok but also girlish. The idea was good but characters lame.
The best YA spy books have got to be;

1) Fledgling Jason Steed by Mark A. Cooper
2) Revenge Jason Steed by Mark A. Cooper
3) Alex Rider Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz
4) Recruit CHERUB by Robert Muchamore
5) Point Blanc Alex Rider ny Anthony Horowitz
6) Silverfin, Young James Bond, by Charlie Higson
7) Skeleton Key Alex Rider by Anthony Horowitz

I figured i might as well read it to see what the hype is about. I'm only a few chapters in and I'm enjoying it. Anything that gets people to read is good IMHO. It has been a while since I picked up a fictional novel to read. I usually read nonfic. Nice easy reading.

It's interesting that post-apocalyptic literature like this gained suh a following. Post apocalyptic stories have always been with us but I don't think one has ever reached this height of popularity, especially among the youth. Sign of the times?

Despite being older than the target audience I very much enjoyed this book.

The second and the thrid were a bit lacking in quality, though.

I'm a 25 year old male. Definitely well outside the target audience for the Hunger Games series. That being said, I absolutely devoured the books. Even shed a couple tears at the end of the third one, if I can say that and keep my Man Card.

I found them to be well written, with characters you can care about. I expected shallow teeny crap but instead they're a very deep look at a bleak, dystopian future. Plus, I'm a sucker for a revolution.
