As ironic as it may sound, YOUTUBE IS DEAD. Corporations now tell us what is most popular. NOT US.

YouTube is now slowly being dominated by corporations and YouTube partners...its not like it was before...

At first I thought the channels such as HULU or VEVO were just going to die away because they often copyrighted their videos, previewed short clips and only advertised mainstream pop music garbage - but I was wrong.

In the end, the Big Corporations won, and the people lost. Corporations now tell you whats most popular or trendy on YouTube, NOT general public opinion.

All videos which were and still uploaded by normal people are just shoved in a corner which can only be found if you actually know what you're looking for.

The fact is, most don't know what they want to watch when they are bored or something, hence thats why they'll easily be lured into this new consumerist driven YouTube full of ADs, pay to view videos and basically videos which the corporations tell them which is the "most popular or trendy".

Also, another thing to point out is that it has also made it very easy for the Government, the mainstream media and certain clandestine groups to quickly spread fake videos of protests or incidents to quickly swing public opinion in their favour. Something I'm sure they'll LOVE to do as they start their campaign to demonise Russia - as if they haven't started already.

I wonder how long before they openly start censoring "conspiracies" or views against the mainstream establishment...

if you think that is bad, have a look at the lords and how they respond to the servants, ....no sir before we allow you to set your eyes upon us we must have information regarding you. Now kneel and question noone , but weren't the olympics by the people for the people so why restrict viewing a youtube video, is it because they would have you consider those two as your lord ?

Why worry about what they are advertising as the most popular anyway? All you do is look for what you want too watch and forget about the other crap. Most of youtube is garbage anyway.

Yes!!! it is completely different than about a year ago. I used to get great shows from some great channels and now all I get is garbage in my subscriptions. All the good channels I have to go and search out their new downloads as they stopped automatically uploading them into my subscriptions. But all the junk news etc has no problem getting through to me. I also depend a lot on other ATS members to point out new documentaries for me to look up and watch. Youtube seems to only be sending me vids from the channels that run ads etc. Anything else I have to go out and try to find it. Bunch of censorship now and it has really lost what it was originally meant to be.

Don't really understand this thread. I've been a tuber for a long time and haven't seen any stuff like what's been discussed in that video. Also that video is ancient cause it still shows the 5/5 star system that was replaced by thumbs ages ago.

I haven't used the tube for a long time now, since january this year in my opinion, it became utterly big scat ...

All i see is comercial scum and the so called pop culture pushed onto me and i hate that so ... i moved to a video streaming site in my country that is way better ...

Youtube is dead.. the youtube video!

One thing that has shocked me in the last year or so is that the internet has produced "t.v." ads that are a thousand times more obnoxious than actual t.v. ads. I watched something on hulu the other day, and you have to pick between two ads, or play some retarded ass puzzle, or whatever. You have to actually interact with this garbage. I'll take a simple t.v. ad that jacks the volume up 5 notches over having to work a maze to get back to my show.

I have been becoming more and more reluctant to use youtube recently, it keeps telling me that video's may not be suitable for me and that the only way I will be aloud to view them is if I give them my personal information.

Also it keeps telling me video's aren't available in my area.

This is part of that Corporatism-Marxism Frankenstein marriage.

People only make up their minds depending on the context that has already been defined for them.

This has been happening for sometime now, and it doesn't surprise me if they made the changes from being a website for us, to a website for THEM.

When a website makes changes such as has happened with youtube recently, rarely is it "for our benefit". The rule of thumb in website development, is, if it isn't broken don't fix it.

People don't like changes, unless the changes are actually needed.


It is of my opinion that Youtube changed a lot more than just the "look".

Though I could be wrong.

I am too disappointed about youtube, however I think that is really the inevitable when something becomes so much bigger than everything else - it is all the more easy and worthwhile for 'the powers that be' (capitalism, socialism, corporations, governments, Kings, Queens, Illuminati Freemasons ect) to corrupt it. I get scared of all things going that way - it seems that media, people, organisations and even places have to balance on the edge of popularity and obscurity. I tend to be of the fear that not long after I find something I like, that it will be corrupted and ruined because to many found out about it and it became to influential... it would be so much easier if I was a property developer, marketer, banker, politician, Freemason, Illuminati.... and so forth.... mind you if I became a Freemason, soon after the game would be up for them and I'd be wishing I was 'of the masses' again!

......that's all we need to defeat the Freemasons/illuminati/NWO... me to sincerely join them!

Youtube was dead the day it banned Norna.

Mark my words - one day an open source alternative will beat out youtube, like how wikipedia is ad free but YT stile. BUT, that won't happen until video hosting costs go way down, in the mean time YouTube is ran by corporate sponsors, as is how media corporations work. YT has the market share by the balls, so they will keep ramping up ads and video placements until an alternative gains popularity, which probably won't be anytime soon.
