No but the fact he said it was fun means the man is evil in the context of the holocaust point blank maybe other areas of his life he's a good man but not in context to the holocaust, and my point is if he enjoyed doing what he did in World War 2 then he's capable of evil acts because he has fun doing them.
Have you considered that was is his way of "owning" the circumstances he had no control over at the time? Maybe he felt that he was living at death's door and the only way he could cope was to numb his fear, to a degree that he was carefree even in such a trying time. Thus, why he thought it was strange to feel that way.
Evil doesn't exist.
