I'm surprised no-one has said anything yet about Romney.

Cain is gone.
Bachmann is down.
Perry is a loon.
Gingrich is scum.

Imagine the Obama/Holder justice department harassing Mormons to get Mitt fired up and further the religious stereotypes.

T'is election season folks.

This pissed me off enough, that I'm going down the mountain today, and pick up another 50lb bag of sugar, and salt.

If there was a Preppers 12 step program...I'd be the number 1 member.

Hello...my name is Des, I'm a Prepper

I also keep plenty of sugar and canned stuff toothpaste and the like. Someone recently told me that he's coming to my house if TSHTF. We laughed about it, but I'm just stockpiling normal stuff that's not out of the ordinary.
But the Feds know that bulk storage food is packaged to last for years.

I wonder if they will also raid Bass Pro Shops as they carry a line of mountain climbing food sealed in vacuum packaging.

Do your preps with cash only do not give any info and do not buy online. I wonder what the thoughts are by the church on this development?

You think Romney actually cares?

I seriously doubt it. IMO, he's no better a candidate than McCain was, and we all know what happened when he ran for president.

I think he's too much of a RINO for the base of the GOP to vote for him. The MSM would like you to believe that it's because the base thinks mormonism is a cult and we don't want a member of religious cult in the white house. No, it's because informed voters are smart enough to realize Romney will be as big a loser in the general election as McCain was.

This is pretty downright obvious, if they were after the cannery, they would have inspected
the freaking cannery already.

We have already seen this as they went searching for farms that sold to locals, making
lists and keeping records of farms, taking an inventory of how much food they have on hand etc.

So on the one hand, government agencies both state and federal are urging you to be prepared and even checking up on you to see how prepared you are, and on the other hand, we now have federal agencies that are attempting to gather information on individuals that are following FEMA suggestions. What is the reasoning behind gathering this information? Are American citizens now being “listed” by DHS if they are simply following FEMA guidance and purchasing bulk food and emergency supplies for their families? It appears as so.

You are right they have a huge data warehouse and the tallest building in Salt Lake dedicated to storing information about its "Followers"

Has anyone yet mentioned the fact that maybe what they are trying to do is root out all the "NON members" of the LDS church for after Mitt Romney goes into office?

If Romney is selected (and I am pretty sure he will be) as the Republican candidate this will make a whole lot more sense...

Oh, I can hear it now...Well Des...we are taking your stored food for the betterment of society. To make sure that everyone gets a fair share. It's just not right for you to have all those goats, and food when others' don't have any....

Here's the piece of paper that says, you have been holding out on your fellow man. Here's another piece of paper that says I have the authority to confiscate your goats and food to help everyone. Now be a good little citizen and get out of our way....

That's when they'll meet my housemates...... Mossberg & Sons....

You forgot the mail drop.

It does no good to shop anonymously online with a prepaid alias card if the goods are delivered to an address associated with your real name.

Get an anonymous mail drop.

Cash in person is the best way to go.

Wear a hat.

Big brim.

Never look up - just assume it's there and act accordingly.

Go Underground.

Violent talk draws attention that you probably don't want until you're as ready as you'll ever be for it, and have the numbers - unless you're prepared to go out in a blaze of glory, and all alone.

That won't help much in the grand scheme of things,

Rowdy protest also only draws attention that you probably don't want.

Go Underground until YOU pick the time, not your opposition.

It will be asked nicely, politely and videod appropriately from the security camera installed nearby.

I will then shut the door and if they don't leave, I shall consider them as intruders and protect myself, my family and my property as necessary.

End of story.

You would let them ruin yourself and your family because they carry a slip of paper?

Better for them to find nothing but a smoking heap of ashes which used to be your house to carry away with them, and leave them scratching their heads as to where you and your "stash" have gone.

As I recall, unreasonable confiscations and forced quartering of British troops were a couple of things that got the ball rolling last time around.

Some things never change.

Leave nothing but a hole in the air where you were, and nothing at all that they will be able to make any use of.

Vercingetorix was right. Scorched Earth. If you can't carry it, BURN it. Let 'em get their own damned resupply.

Now, I admit that I would not be surprised if this were to actually happen. But I am really surprised at how many of you are taking this story at face value. One testimony would not count for proof in court, why does it count for proof on ATS? Is there something about the heightened legitimacy of this testimony that I should be made aware of?

Because this is not one of those instances where, even if the author of the story is lying, the point is still the same (kinda like the "My professor of economics taught our class using socialism" parable.) If this did not actually happen, we are getting all up in arms over nothing...

clip coupons, buy from multiple stores. Get your hygiene supplies from walgreens, get your dry goods from the local supermarket.

Buy 6 Sunday papers a week, clip the coupons, look for sales and only buy that which 1) is on sale and 2) you have a coupon for.

Trust me: in 6 months you'll have built up a 2-3 year supply of food and goods at about 1/2 or less the price everyone else is paying. And they won't track it. You're just buying grocieries, right?
And get a freezer. A big one.

As a former Mormon, I am aware of a great deal of fundamental docterine. It might be a good time for the Mormon church to stand up and refuse to provide any information to the Feds in the name of the Constitution. Mormons believe in the sanctity of the Constitution and have a very strong prophecy regarding their role in preserving it in "the last days". It hangs by a thread now. Much later and we will never recover without a great deal of bloodshed. Bring on the White Horse....and the boys from the hills to the rescue!!!

When IT happens you should have your food store hidden in more than one place.
so when They come to take it, the Rich have to eat to! they cannot find it all.
bury it in your garden and some off your land.

oh! and dont forget. when people start queuing for food.
You need to be in that queue. aor they will know you have a big stock pile.
you can give it to those who need it the most.

and when the trucks come for You! Hide.

Obviously these semi-retarded actions of the govt are just poking and probing to see who they will enrage. The idea that they just dont get is .......everyone...... is dis satisfied with their crooked puppet string govt.

When congress has less than 9% approval you better believe the DHS and all the rest of the nutjob wanna be nazi troopers ratings arent even swirling around the bowl. They are gurgling down the pipe.

311,000,000 people is a lot of folks to have pissed off at ya....

Gadaffi had a 17% approval rating when they killed him.

Think about it.

You can all stand down.

Just got off the phone with the local director. They dont keep your information. They do take a name and telephone number and keep that during the time they have each lot of food in case there is a recall or any of it is found to have impurities so that you can be reached for a replacement, but once those lots are gone they dont keep the numbers even.

Call your local director and they should say the same thing.
