When making or editing a post while _javascript is off or while using a script blocking plugin, I am redirected to a page that informs me that there is an "invalid user name." When I realize my mistake, I re-enable _javascript and press the Back Button. Unfortunately any work I did before pressing "Post" or "Edit" is lost.

Forgetting to check the _javascript settings seems like a pretty silly reason to lose everything you were working on. Please consider changing to the use of a reminder to enable _javascript that does not include loss of data.

If you are making a long post you should do it in your word program.
That way it will not get lost.

That's what I usually do, but sometimes forget. In fact I just did it again and had to rewrite this post. It's a little problem, and I'm sure there is a simple solution.

I would rather have the "post" button have no functionality in the event that _javascript is off rather than be redirected to a page so that my data is lost.

I recommend you to copy your text before pressing any buttons. My mobile connection isn't always great so I do this most of the time.

Careful, it is against TOS to use such things as scriptblockers and adblock, cuts into the money of the owners. I have gotten warned about this kind of thing way back when I was new, thought I should pass it along
