Wow. That's kinda scary and cool at the same time. This kinda reminds me of the movie IRobot.

This makes those android replacement movies all the more realistic. Quite cool in a scary sort of way. I can see them using robots/droids like this for space missions in harsh climates

WOW !

For me, the random eye blinking is the most "human like" feature ! !

They are ALWAYS blinking, even out of the little part where
the eyes seem "more tested". . .

Blue skies.

I'll get one as soon as they are programed to wash the dishes.

I don't exactly know what the difference between a robot and an animatronic figure is. Can anyone clarify that?

This freaky though, but mostly for me because the flesh is very real looking.

Almost getting past the "uncanny valley" effect but not quite. Now... if she got up and started walking around, then I'd get excited.

Also, I'm pretty sure this is the second model of a professor who made a doppelganger of himself and this one is to be used for hospital triage or something similar. I could be wrong... you know what they say about Asian robots.

Washing the Dishes???
pahaha you really think that is what technology like this will be used for?

Maybe I have a vivid imagination... but I'm invisioning like Super Soldiers with radiation guns, and sub sonic blasters shooting it out on a battle field....

@Curevuo lol asian robots!!!!!!!!

Im not surprised I guess... Asians tend to always be on the cutting edge with this stuff

Now if she can get me a beer and turn on the TV, I might try and buy one. The Japanese are way advance in robotics compared to the rest of us. Cool video OP.

Okay, I get it. I'll get one when they are trained as super soldiers to force my wife to wash the dishes then.

Unfortunately man being pig, the biggest use of them so far is Japans Sexbot trade.
gizmodo.com...

I did see a photo of realistic bots used as added guards in one of the countries. May have been a fake photo.

In theory I guess the main difference is what exactly controls said subjects actions.. Animatronic figures have human operators. Robots can act or "think" on their own.

Human like robots are developing quickly, however once they reach a point were either increased production capability or militarily capable we will see this industry explode. I believe we will see autonomous human like robots used for military applications before socially designed robots.

Really, aren't these pretty much just advanced puppets?

I mean Jim Henson could probably have created something similar... Movie Magic.... Special Effects... etc...

The Singularity has been suppressed...

i may be off my rocker a bit, but is it POSSIBLE....to use facebook, myspace, and other network sites, like ATS....to be used as a data base, for this purpose. If they gathered all the images, comments, quotes, videos, etc....that anyone has ever posted, on the net; could it not be stored, in a small chip..and be used in these type of 'droids'?
