I understand, orders are orders. But there is a big difference between shooting americans to save other americans or their property, compared to being given orders to shoot unarmed protesters at a rally.

If I were still in the military and I was given the order to shoot a US Citizen, then yes, I might shoot a US Citizen.

Assuming, of course, that the officer who gave the order was a US Citizen. He would die knowing that I followed orders.

So true. Apparently it's been asked numerous times to all branches. The results is a majority of US troops will not follow the orders to do so and then they get sent to the middle east. It seems that whoever does not wish to do so will get sent out of the states to free up room here in the US for those who will follow those orders.

The US has been training up to or over a million foreign troops over the past few years for the use of US agenda. What that agenda is and why would they need a million foreign troops for it when we have enough US troops and they keep on shrinking the US military? The thought and possibility of what this can mean leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Just think about it, our military is constantly being shrunk and bases are being closed all the time. Yet we are funding and training "foreign" individuals to be part of a new US military. Why not just keep the US troops? Well probably because they won't fire on other Americans. But foreign troops will probably have no problems firing on Americans who are viewed by the rest of the world as pigs and terrorists. Not a very cheerful prospect.

I don't think some of you recognize what a civil war between citizens and the U.S. government would be like. It would not go the way you think. The U.S. military is at LEAST 20 YEARS ahead of anyone anywhere as far as their technology is concerned.

In such a civil war, the U.S. government would likely not have to fire a single bullet for offense due to their technologically advanced capabilities in the area of sound waves, sonar, etc. The end result would be citizens likely becoming so confused and mentally tormented, that they would kill each other.

A civil war between the U.S. Government/Military and citizens would result in the wholesale slaughter of the citizenry. U.S. citizens (included the Occupy Movement) should avoid military action against the U.S. Government AT ALL COSTS.....

Well this is a step in the right direction. The National Guard had no compunctions about killing students at Kent State back in 1969. So at least the men and women joining now are willing to stand up for their principles of protecting the citizenry, rather than becoming an arm of the fascist govt. now taking over our country. I hope to hear more about this on the real news.

Our military are quite willing to mow down civilians in any other country in the world so what makes American civilians different? What was different about the soldiers at Tiananman Square, Egypt, Syria, Libya etc that they were willing to kill their fellow citizens by the score?

I suggest that the military will do what they always do - follow orders to protect their own lives and livelihood but more likely because they get brainwashed into believing that they're fighting a real enemy.

None of them are the Marine Corps, Navy, Army, or Air Force. And, before you say the National Guard is Army, it's not. The National guard serves the STATE first, not the Federal Government.

I can't believe you'd even attempt to compare a U.S. Marine to some scumbag Communist Chinese soldier, or a fascist Muslim "soldier". A U.S. Marine, Sailor, Soldier or Airman are by far more concerned with doing what's RIGHT for the country than any of those other examples you gave. You're comparing apples and oranges.

The rioters at Kent state burnt down a building and attacked fire fighters trying to put it out. That's why the guard was there to begin with. Then they began throwing rocks at the guardsmen. The guardsmen moved them out of the area but when they began backing out, the rioters moved toward them. That's when the 13 seconds of shooting occured. 62-67 rounds total. Most were aimed up or into the ground. 9 injured. 4 dead. Unfortunately 1 of the dead was just a student headed to class.
The Guardsmen admitted that, despite the fact they felt threatened by a larger group that had been openly violent towards them, they may have overreacted. The criminal case was thrown out after evidence was presented. In the following civil trial, a jury of citizens found in favor of the Guardsmen. It was appealled and later settled out of court by the Ohio state government.
Kent state has become a myth. There were agitators and provacateurs. If these types burned down public buildings and threw rocks at first responders anywhere else, they would have been shot outright and there wouldn't even have been an investigation or a trial - and the populace would probably have been fully supportive of those actions.
The real story doesn't only prove that we are far removed from tyranny (so far and definitely in 1970), but it exxonerates the Guardsmen's actions given the circumstances. Regardless, the Kent state incident sparked a whole new training and way to deal with civil unrest for the state militia (NG). So, actually Kent State indirectly made the killing of Americans by Guardsmen far less likely afterward.

I don't think my American cousins need fear the US military.

An Oath is an Oath and it is taken most seriously amongst Western (Volunteer) Armed Forces.

Now politicians and strategists are a different creed from you or i, they see people as statistics and pawns to be moved around the board, i have no doubt that they would love to exercise the Military in an Imperial fashion.

Neither the US Military nor the UK Military are sworn to serve the Political Governments of the day, rather they are sworn to serve the Constitution and the Queen respectively, they do not exist to enforce the political will of ruling minorities.

The Police however are a different kettle of fish altogether aren't they..
It's the Militarized Police that we should be watching very closely, they are the Troops of the Politicians/Bankers and Corporates, it is they who enforce the (Legislation) and rules from on high.
I emphasize legislation as they gave up enforcing the (Law) a long time ago, what we have these days are rules to suit the ruling and legislation to keep the people at bay and under control.

See cops use lethal force on Americans everyday, in effect they have already declared war on US citizens, so they make easy recruits for fascist regimes to use against a criminalized nation.
The politicians will make (Legislation) to criminalize you and the Cops will be there to enforce those measures...."because it's their job".

As long as Honor and Discipline and Dignity means something to our Military boys and Girls then we have nothing to fear from them.

It's the Cops who already DO use lethal force against Americans that you should be concerned about imo.

IMO these men that are not willing to kill innocent civilians, could be why the elitist agenda has simply paused but i believe that there will be troops sent to Amerika from other lands, from security companies like blackwater and whereever else these treasonous government officials can find them! I thought that the collapse would start this year as soon as the cold weather starts but now i'm not so sure! Maybe they will use biological, chemical and false flag attacks to reduce the population! I really don't know but what i do know is that this will not get any better! Sitting around waiting for things to change will not get us anywhere but in more trouble! I really don't get why we have not organised the truther movement? We need to spread the word of what is happening to the sleeping public! We need to spread the truth to our law enforcement! The local police are too small in number to have an affect on the populace as evident by local riots. If the police try and enforce any government orders, people know who they are and where they live. Eventually they will go home or not be in the group and will be just done away with by the people. Blackwater, too small to matter. The only real threat to the people is the military and I would bet on the people. A big number will not go against the people, but say half do, they will die in big numbers and getting supplies will be a huge problem. Who can they trust? Poison, IED and snipers will make them stay in armed camps to just survive, they will not control the land.

Everyone knows the phrase, "They can take my gun when they pry it from my cold, dead hands". Or something like that. I've been commenting to people that it should be "They WILL take your gun WHEN they pry it from your cold, dead hands".

It is refreshing to read that at least some part of our military knows where to draw the line on "taking orders". Our military is just that...ours. They are also our friends, neighbors and family. The enemy will be obvious if any of us are told to kill our friends, neighbors or family. However, considering that they make us argue on queue...I have previously feared the worst. At last...some hope.

The most unfortunate part of this story is that asking National Guard troops to fire on Americans is not an illegal order.

It's definitely an immoral order, but ny no means illegal. National Guard is there for civil defence. If this means shooting Americans, then that's what it means.
