I never understood.
Did they'r God ask them to do that?It is wrote somewhere in they'r Bible.
It's there a command for such a thing?
Maybe it's very cold where they live.
I don't understand why they don't wear pants just like any other ordinary man.
A mystery to me.
I don't judge other people's way to dress but I didn't see a command from God to ask something like that.

Maybe you can help with an explanation.

So I ask you again.
Why Arab people wear a dress?

Nowadays, yes.

But it was the standard attire for a long time.

While I can not answer for Arab men, I have been to places like the Sahara (hope it is close enough to Arabia to count) and my shorts and trousers really chaffed in the heat, so was in fleeting moments somewhat envious of the loose linen dress my partner wore.

You obviously dont live in a hot country diamond.

Only Mad Dogs and Englishmen, go out in the midday Sun, in full suit and regalia.

The Arabs wear little under there sheet, one would suspect.

It is definitely the coolest attire in the midday Sun. The Skin is covered from the UV Rays, and the loose fit allows cooler air to circulate around the body...

Only crazy White people go out in the Sun to "Bake" and burn like a crisp.

Traditionally, even Black people would be seeking shade in the full hot Sun.

Greeks and Romans wore "Skirts" and loose fitting Togas were the fashion of the day....and cool.
And yes, often the women exposed a breast or two as well.
Sophisticated people nowadays are more prudish than Ancient times.........
Give me an "O", give me a "G"...give me an Orgy!!!!....Yeah.....

Oh well, what's a dress?
The Ancient Greeks laughed long and hard at the pants of the Persians, which they considered "effeminate".

A real man lets the loins fight free - like a Roman in his tunic, or an Inca in his poncho, or a Scotsman in his kilt, or a priest in his frock, or a Hindu in his dhoti, or a Tuareg warrior on his camel.

Have ya no imagination lad?

I would say more along the lines of them being simpler, easier to make and probably comfortable to wear.. In my neck of the woods they used to wear short trousers and leather stockings
the pervs

BTW I have worked in Scotland and have seen many men still wear their kilts on a daily basis with great pride.

Well apart from the Romans, you will still find the rest alive and happy today.

And apart from that, I thinks it's going to make a huge comeback with global warming, because it's far less restricting and ventilated.

Yes,but why in the modern era they didn't find a way to change that...a man with a Rolls and a dress...

when you say Arab men which country do you mean? Arabs are those people who speak Arabic, there is no one culture, one way to dress, one way to live... etc in the Arab world, each Arabic country has something in common with the rest but differences too.

what you call dress is what we Arabs call Dishdash, it is preferable in the Gulf states mostly due to the very hot weather there.

It's called culture and tradition. That and it's often to hot to wear suits or denim. Sometimes because it's cheaper.

And FYI The Arabic God is the Abrahamic God.

with aircon being a luxury mostly in either tourist areas and homes of the wealthy..

In hot weather its a way to keep cool - and being blunt you dont end up with itchy balls from sweating too much and the body overheating as happens when wear jeans and other western clothing in hot climates.

the loose fitting traditional style clothing allows air to circulate helping to keep the body cool. very comfortable to wear as well.
